TECHNICAL SERVICES
Identifying components of equipment and ensuring they are available when necessary is a critical part of plant uptime. Site surveys are the first step in CBC Australias total asset performance optimisation approach - the first step to improving efficiency in maintenance, energy consumption and inventory, and the first step toward achieving the longest possible life of equipment without unexpected breakdowns. CBC Australias complete surveys of plant and equipment provide the customer with a document which is a comprehensive dossier of a sites major mechanical componentry in application order, cross-references OEM part numbers to CBC part numbers and lists a full range of spare parts for that componentry. It details product numbers (including interchanges) and identifies commonality amongst equipment, allowing rationalisation of inventory holdings. Surveys are carried out by experienced CBC engineers and product specialists in collaboration with customer personnel and are ideally conducted during scheduled shutdown periods. This document can be distributed in hard copy to maintenance management, or the information uploaded to Mincom LinkOne.

Mincom LinkOne is an innovative web-based software system which integrates SAP, Open Catalogue Interface (OCI) compliant applications and Webview for creating and delivering graphical parts catalogues that help users to find the right part, first time, every time. Mincom LinkOne links graphics with parts lists and rich text to easily produce electronic catalogues and graphical maintenance manuals. Mincom LinkOnes publishing, distribution and viewing systems make all forms of electronic parts and service information available at the touch of a key via the Internet, intranet, or CD, including: Parts catalogues Repair manuals Operating and commissioning instructions Maintenance and repair procedures Visual operational aids, such as video clips Product alerts and safety bulletins Product updates and notices Mincom LinkOnes flexibility comes from: Continual Updates Mincom LinkOne can regularly check for content updates over the Internet to maintain the latest information at all times. Condition monitoring - Thermography
CBC Technical Services Thermography program uses infrared cameras to create thermal images of objects, showing temperature variations as brightly colored patterns. These images reveal problems in a vast range of mechanical and electrical applications in a precise, quick and highly effective way without the risk of making contact with the subject. They provide crucial information for many applications, including: Electrical (high and low voltage systems): loose/over tight connections, overloaded components, uneven voltage distribution, failed/fatigued components and dead battery cells Mechanical: condition of bearings, shaft misalignment, faulty electrical connections, plumbing leaks and blockages, defective seals and valves, storage tank levels, furnace tube coking, settlement and sludge build up, baseline temperature readings during commissioning of plant equipment and refractory surveys inspection for loose or missing refractory lining in boilers, furnaces, reactors and similar high temperature vessels. Their use is virtually unlimited; detecting the presence of heat or even cold anywhere can help in making a determination of an objects performance condition. Used in conjunction with our vibration analysis and/or oil sampling program this highly effective plant awareness program improves plant uptime, mitigates risk and reduces the cost of not knowing.

Magnetic FiltRATION
One Eye Industries (OEI) environmentally friendly filtration systems with patented rare earth magnetic technology and reusable long life filters provide magnetic filtration solutions in the oil and gas, marine, manufacturing, mining and associated industries to effectively filter and remove ferrous and non-ferrous contamination in lube oil, hydraulic fluid, fuel, coolant, gear oil, glycol, and process/effluent water. OEIs built-in magnetic filter cores capture ferrous contaminants in fluid systems, to <1m, before they reach the conventional filter. Using static adhesion, the cores also retain some non-ferrous contaminants. Contamination monitoring and identification of potential wear-related issues are achieved by removing the magnetic core and examining the retained contamination under a microscope. Ferrous particles smaller than 10 microns generate more wear than larger particles in high pressure contact areas, causing damage to soft metals, seals, bearings and gaskets. OEIs magnetic technology traps these sub-micron ferrous and some non-ferrous contaminants.
The benefits of monitoring and removing submicron contaminants include dramatic reduction of the damaging wear cycle, extending the life of fluids and equipment; reduced oil and fuel consumption as well as reduced oxidation rate; extended service intervals; enhanced accuracy of machine condition analysis; longer conventional filter life; filtration solutions for difficult applications; and reduced impact on the environment
Condition monitoring - Oil sampling

As part of our condition monitoring service, CBC Technical Services provides a NATA accredited oil, grease and fluid analysis program. Maximising plant uptime and efficient operation requires the monitoring of operational factors such as friction, lubrication condition, wear, temperature and erosion using oil analysis techniques. Engines, turbines, fuel systems, compressors, water quality, gears, pumps, hydraulic systems, and electrohydraulic controls are all areas where fluid analysis by CBC Technical Services can benefit your organisation. Our programs analyze contaminants, fluid condition and expected oil life. Our email or web based reports also offer you a glimpse inside your equipment to identify alignment problems, pending mechanical failure, the cause of any wear and contaminants; as well as advice on what to do about the findings. An oil analysis program from CBC Technical Services will help you avoid the cost of not knowing the condition of your critical equipment; resulting in decreased mechanical failure rates, increased production, and improved energy consumption in your organisation.
Magnetic Filter Pads Complement existing disposable filters for lube oil, fuel, hydraulics and coolant applications. Magnetic Filter Rods, Y Strainers and Scrubbers Installed prior to traditional filters in reservoirs and applications previously unsuitable for filtration. Add-Vantage 9000 Series Replacing disposable filters, these combine cleanable stainless steel elements and magnetic filter technology in one filter with 40% greater flow capacity than traditional paper elements. Filter Plugs Replace filler and drain plugs with magnetic plugs to simply and efficiently capture ferrous contaminants. Cone and Basket Strainers Magnetic rods in cone and basket strainers capture small particles that would otherwise pass through the basket mesh, minimising erosion in large pipelines and damage to instruments.

Cooper Split Roller Bearings The Plummer Block replacement that saves time and money Cooper Split Roller Bearings are the ideal solution for trapped applications and limited access locations. Cooper bearings have cylindrical rollers with modified line contact and have their main components made in halves. Simple assembly of these halves around the shaft eliminates axial threading, special machining, threaded portions and locknuts involved with solid bearings; and enables shafting to be designed solely to strength requirements. The bearing races and rollers are made from first quality carbon chrome steel, through hardened and precision finished. Races have angled joints to ensure continuity of contact with the rollers. Cage halves are made from light alloy or bronze, joined by spring steel clips. Advantages Easily fitted to recessed shafts, crankpins and other applications where the installation of a solid bearing would be impractical or impossible. Due to the thin-walled outer, drawn cup needle roller bearings have an extremely low radial section height and do not require housing bore to be hardened. Mackay Multicushion Isolators The Multicushion system is a new approach to isolator selection. The large range of sizes and durometers combined with interchangeable metric and imperial studs allows selection of the most appropriate cushion isolator for the application First choose the best cushion for the application and then choose the desired stud combination. Multicushion isolators are made from high-grade natural rubber and all metal surfaces are passivated to automotive OEM standards. The interchangeable studs are easily inserted with a screw driver whilst the microBOND fastener adhesive system provides secure thread locking. Mackay Flange Isolators These special isolators were developed to meet almost every type of machinery installation within the loading range, with telescopic metal inserts providing considerable stability in all directions. The two light duty isolators, M110 and M114 are equipped with upper metal inserts, tapped to receive standard bolts or set screws. The isolators can be fastened to the floor or other base, with bolts through the two lugs of the lower metal stamping. When using the heavy duty isolators M139 and M140, loads can be suspended as well as supported. Interlocking flanges incorporated in M139 and M140 isolators ensure suspension even if the rubber is completely destroyed by fire, etc. Mackay V-Shaped Generator Mounts The V-shaped Generator supports are comprised of two symmetrically-tilted metal parts with a screw on each side. The V-shaped generator mounts render it possible to make installations which are more elastic than the ones usually made with cylindrical or bobbing mounts. This makes it possible to achieve lower frequency and consequently better vibration isolation. Stability is enhanced when two are installed, symmetrically opposed. VNC Cone Mounts These mounts have a particular rubber section made for shear and compression stresses which allows the usage of heavy loads with good axial deflections. The mounts are assembled with two security washers to minimise overloads. They are particularly suitable for use as engine and cabin mounts. The CNA version is characterised by two different radial stiffnesses. VNC Cylindrical Mounts A complete range of mounts, which can be fixed in alternative ways with both internal and external thread and used in compression or shear. They come in various sizes, from 8 to 150 mm, with loads applied from a few N to over 1.000 daN. VNC Resilient stops and height adjustment Series of mounts utilised as support for various plant and machinery, very useful in order to prevent shocks and overloading, thanks to their progressive absorption. VNC Basic Bushes Produced in various types (Fully Bonded, Semi Bonded, Insulated, Reinforced, etc.), they allow the elimination, in particular, of the high frequencies through the elastic deflection of the rubber under the effect of the external couples which act on the metallic tubes. Memolub Systems The Memolub system is an autonomous single/multi point electro-mechanical lubricator. Its high lubricant ejection pressure of 25 bar opens a wide range of applications not possible with conventional systems. Memolub can be used remotely up to 8 metres from the lubrication point. Remote installation avoids dangerous or difficult access points, and maintenance personnel can work swiftly in safety. Machine stoppage for lubrication can be avoided by installing Memolub systems. Memolub can also be used as a mini central lubrication system. Combined with progressive distributor blocks, Memolub Systems are a simple and economical way of reducing maintenance costs. ENVIROPEEL
Enviropeel Thermoplastic Coating Enviropeel is a sprayable thermoplastic barrier coating system which allows protection to be applied on site and to objects of any shape or size. Its corrosion-inhibiting properties and ease of application open up new possibilities for protection in many industries, especially where galvanic corrosion affects bolted systems, such as flanges and valves. The system also prevents the ingress of dust and other contaminants into rotating systems such as bearings and prevents the deterioration of stored components and equipment. Applications in Australia since 2005 have shown equipment lifetimes increased by 500% using Enviropeel. A solid at normal temperatures, the Enviropeel material is melted in a computer-controlled heating and pumping tank to form a sprayable liquid. The material can be sprayed on to the substrate, forming a perfectly fitting second skin. Inhibitors within the Enviropeel coat all surfaces inside the protected area, penetrating between surfaces and along bolt threads. Corrosion inhibitors continue to be released, providing continuous active protection against galvanic, pitting and atmospheric corrosion. It also prevents water, dust, and contaminant ingress and isolates vulnerable components from corrosive environments. In addition to the standard unit, a Zone 2 model for use in hazardous areas, and a portable Slugger 170 for repairs and small applications are available. Enviropeel is completely reusable, non-toxic and contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). When inspection or replacement is required, it can quickly be cut and peeled away to reveal the protected surface. The used Enviropeel can be returned to the unit for re-application. The Enviropeel system can be used on stored components and equipment, conveyor bearings, bolted systems and structures of all kinds including valves and flanges, offshore and onshore installations, components in transit and for corrosion protection for parts and machinery.
