ToadaptthesematerialstobetteralignwiththeNGSS,Iwouldprobablyusethemasan introductiontothematerialatthebeginningofaunitonwavesthebroadandshallowtreatment givesstudentsanoverviewofwhattoexpectwithoutbeingoverwhelming,andshouldallowme theoptiontogointothetopicinmoredetailandwithmorecrosscuttingandengineeringthanis presentedinPS.Bydoingthis,Ithinkstudentswillhaveanopportunitytobetterexplorethe ideaspresentinthestandard,butthereislessriskthattheybecomeoverwhelmedbythe conceptofthewavemodel,sincethebookgivesitsuchasimplebreakdownthatcanbebuilt uponforgreaterunderstanding.
