Advanced Methods of Printing In the twenty first century there have been many improvements in the world, for instance the 3 dimensional printers are one of the powerful machines. 3-D printers are machines, which print 3 dimensional solid objects of any shapes from a digital model. By digital technology, art designers sketch the objects they need and send the finished product to a 3-D printer. When the machine is trying to process the details of the item, the machine uses specific material that have the capability to melt and it fuses the material into very thing layers, which creates the models desired by the designers of the object. It is for rapid prototyping. . This machine was built 25-30 years ago, according to Professor Volden. Since 3-D printers could be owned by anybody, this could both be dangerous and pleasant. The amazing advances that the 3-D printing has are endless. It has many advantages for the human beings; the different models of 3-D printers perform variety tasks and build different selected objects to satisfy a humans needs. Anybody in the society could be the owner of this machine; this printing device could have a great impact on the society. It is even capable of building a house on its own. This house could be constructed however the owner desires. According to an article The 3-D printer that can build a house in 24 hours, by Mark Hattersley, a 2,500 square feet house could be built by a 3-d printer within a day. This is very helpful to the society because for the people who are in need of a house and wish to acquire one with less cost.

This could be a great way to construct a house for the growing population. Even though the cost of the machine itself could be expensive, it would have a positive effect on the society. The 3-D printer is able to print body parts. This could be helpful to individuals who are suffering from a disease or the people from the army who have lost some body parts due to wars. In the article Body Parts Scientists can 3-D print, by Steven Leckart, mentions the printer could print organs and bones, the bones are made with ceramic powder and the structure is baked at 2,282 Fahrenheit for 120 minutes and placed into a culture with human bone cells (5). This could help the people who are suffering from bone cancer and they could replace their bones with the 3-D printer bones. This machine is also useful in the industry because there will be less human interaction and the jobs will get finished quicker and much accurate. According to the lecture done in class by Professor Volden, he mentioned that anybody could use this machine in order to print demo parts and it will cost less and it will be owned by the person in a shorter period of time. In the future with the help of 3-D printing, the world will change and shape in a positive way and help the society. 3-D printing could pose many problems for the society. The discontents of this machine are that anybody could own this machine in their home environment and there will be less people employed. In the article 3-D printed guns excite, scare, by Joel Hans, mentions that it is easy to print guns with a 3-d printer but the printing process should be in parts. The reason why the gun should be printed in parts is because it is illegal to upload and design a gun in ones private home environment. This could be very dangerous for the society because the gun could be in any persons hand. Some people might argue that printing guns at home are not dangerous but helpful for individuals who are in danger and are in need of a weapon for self-defense but having the right and the ability to build a gun from scratch at home is very dangerous. The other

disadvantageous of 3-D printers are that there will be fewer manufacturing jobs available. Since the economy has gone to a lower position, there are fewer jobs available for the people. With the 3-D printing added in the industries there will be hardly any jobs for the people in need of money and jobs for the support of their family. In the article 3-D Printers could Change our Economy and our Lives, Chelsea Schelly mentions, This can affect manufacturing jobs and potentially put people out of work (1). This world would be very dangerous for the society to live in because they will have no way to support their families and they will be unemployed. For the future the 3-d printers would put people out of work and while they are at home they could be printing illegal items with the help of their 3-D printers, it will be a terrifying machine to be owned by anybody in the future. This machine could have both positive and negative effects in the society. Mostly this machine is used for creating positive objects for the growing population. The 3-D printer is favorable by most of the society because it is helpful with in manufacturing, for personal use, and for the people whos lives depend on a healthier organ. By the help of this device individuals could fulfill their own needs and at the same time help the society. There are no specific ways that the society could prevent people from the discontents of the 3-D printing, but they could but some laws that could prevent people from designing specific kinds of items that could be dangerous for the society. They would also make a laboratory for 3-d printer owner, rather than having them own this machine in their home environment, this way no one will attempt to try and print illegal objects. All in all, 3-D printing would be a very useful and positive machine to have in for the society. It could have many advantages for the human beings and for the future. The danger of having this machines owned by anybody may be fixed in the future by putting rules and

regulations. The positive aspect of this machine includes: a better and easier life for the mankind, printing parts of gadgets and car parts on your own with less cost, and orienting real human body parts for the people in need of them. If 3-D printing does not exist, there could be no help with the medical field and industries. Having 3-D printer available in the future may have a great impact on the world and how it works.
