Aeronautical Engineer Aeronautical engineer refers to a person who is a holder of a valid certificate of registration and professional identification card

in aeronautical engineering in accordance with P.D. No. 1570. He is a person who is holding out oneself as skilled in the knowledge, science, and practice of aeronautical engineering, and as qualified to render professional services as an aeronautical engineer; or offering or rendering, or both, on a fee basis or otherwise, services such as planning, designing, analyzing, constructing, assembling, installing, altering or maintaining of aircraft structures, power plants or accessories through scientific or accepted engineering practice, or the teaching of the same in any university, college, institute, or school of learning duly recognized by the Government of the Philippines. Board refers to Professional Regulatory Board of Aeronautical Engineering which is composed of of a Chairman and two members. Unless otherwise specifically exempted from taking the written examinations as provided for under Section 20 of Philippine Aeronautical Engineering Decree, a written technical examination is required to be undergone by all applicants for registration for the practice of aeronautical engineering. Applicants for aeronautical engineer board examination shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He is at least twenty-one years of age. b. He is a citizen of the Philippines or of a foreign country qualified to take the examinations under existing laws. c. He must be of good moral character and reputation. d. He is a holder of the degree of Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from any institution of learning recognized by the Government of the Philippines or of an equivalent course offered in any institution of learning in a foreign country subject to the provisions of existing laws. e. Must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude. Scope of Aeronautical Engineer Board Examination The examination shall cover these subjects: 1. Mathematics 2. Aerodynamics 3. Aircraft structures and design 4. Powerplant theory and practice 5. Air laws and regulations 6. Other related subjects as the Board may deem necessary The Board may prescribe, amend, or revise the said subjects. As provided for under Section 17 of P.D. No. 1570, in order to pass the examination, an examinee must obtain a general weighted average of seventy five percent (75%) in all subjects, with no rating below fifty percent (50%) in any subject. Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take a professional oath before any member of the Board or any other person authorized by the PRC or by law before they start their practice.

Agricultural Engineer 1

Agricultural engineer is a natural person who has been issued a certificate of registration by the Board and has taken the oath of profession of agricultural engineers. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Agricultural Engineering. A written technical examination is required to be undergone adn passed by all applicants for registration for the practice of agricultural engineering. Applicants for agricultural engineer board examination shall establish: a. Be a citizen of the Philippines. b. Be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering or its equivalent in a school, academy, institute, college or university duly recognized by the CHED. Scope of Agricultural Engineer Board Examination The examination shall cover the following subjects: 1. Agricultural mechanization, power, machinery and equipment 2. Soil and water conservation, irrigation and drainage 3. Rural electrification, agricultural processing and agricultural structures These subjects and their syllabi may be amended by the Board so as to conform to technological changes brought about by continuing trends in agricultural engineering. Based on Section 16 of the Philippine Agricultural Engineering Act of 1998, in order to pass the examination, an examinee must obtain a weighted general average of seventy percent (70%), with no grades lower than fifty-five percent (55%) in any given subject. Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take a professional oath before any member of the Board or any other person authorized by the PRC or by law prior to entering upon the practice of the agricultural engineering profession.

Architect Architect is a person professionally and academically qualified, registered and licensed under R.A. No. 9266. He/she has received a Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card issued by the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture and the PRC of the Philippines. He/she is responsible for advocating the fair and sustainable development, welfare and cultural expression of societys habitat in terms of space, forms and historical context. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture in the Philippines. A licensure examination is required to be undergone by all applicants for registration for the practice of architecture. The exam is to be given by the Board in such places and dates as the PRC may designate subject to compliance with the requirements prescribed by PRC in accordance with R. A. No. 8981. 2

Applicants for architect board examination shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He/she is a Filipino citizen or a citizen of a foreign country qualified to take the examination as provided for in R.A. 9266. b. He/she is of good moral character. c. He/she is a holder of a degree of Bachelor of Science in Architecture conferred by a school, college, academy or institute duly recognized and/or accredited by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and in addition has a specific record of at least two (2) years or equivalent of diversified architectural experience duly certified by a registered/licensed architect: Provided, however, that an applicant holding a Masters Degree in Architecture from a school, college, university or institute recognized by the government shall be credited one (1) year in his/her practical experience. d. He/she has not been convicted of any criminal offensive involving moral turpitude. Scope of Architect Board Examination The examination shall include but not limited to the following subjects: 1. History and theory of architecture 2. Principles of planning and architectural practice 3. Structural design, building materials, and architectural specifications, and methods of construction and utilities 4. Urban design and architectural interiors 5. Architectural design and site planning Based on Sec. 15 of The Architecture Act of 2004, in order to pass the examination, an examinee must obtain a weighted general average of seventy percent (70%), with no grade lower than fifty percent (50%) in any given subject. Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take an oath of profession before any member of the Board of Architecture or before any government official authorized by Professional Regulation Commission or any person authorized by law to administer oaths upon before entering the practice of architecture.

CPA CPA is a person who has received from the Board a certificate of registration/professional license and issued a professional identification card or a valid temporary/special permit duly issued to him/her by Board of Accountancy and the PRC. Thus, qualifies the person to practice accountancy in the Philippines, and use the title Certified Public Accountant or CPA. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy in the Philippines. A licensure examination is required to be undergone by all applicants for registration for the practice of accountancy. The exam is to be given by the Board in such places and dates as the PRC may designate subject to compliance with the requirements prescribed by PRC in accordance with PRC Modernization Act of 2000. 3

Applicants for CPA board examination shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He/she is a Filipino citizen. b. He/she is of good moral character. c. He/she is a holder of the degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy conferred by a school, college, academy or institute duly recognized and/or accredited by the CHED or other authorized government offices. d. The applicant has not been convicted of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude. Scope of CPA Board Examination The examination shall include but not limited to the following subjects: 1. Theory of accounts 2. Business law and taxation 3. Management services 4. Auditing theory 5. Auditing problems 6. Practical accounting problems I 7. Practical accounting problems II Based on Sec. 16 of Philippine Accountancy Act of 2004, in order to pass the examination, an examinee must obtain a general average of seventy-five percent (75%), with no grades lower than sixty-five percent (65%) in any given subject. Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take an oath of profession before any member of the Board Accountacy or before any government official authorized by PRC or any person authorized by law to administer oaths upon presentation of proof of his/her qualification, before entering their practice of accountancy. Chemical Engineer Chemical engineer means a person duly registered and a holder of a valid Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card issued by the Board of Chemical Engineering and the Professional Regulation Commission in accordance with Republic Act No. 9267. Board refers to Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering. It is under the administrative control and supervision of the PRC. A prescribed licensure examination is required to be passed by all applicants for registration as chemical engineer. Exams is given twice a year by the Board on dates and places as the PRC may prescribe. Applicants for chemical engineer board examination must have must have the following qualifications: a. He/she is a citizen of the Philippines. b. He/she is of good moral character. c. He/she is a graduate of a school, institute, college or university recognized by the Government and has been conferred the degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or its equivalent. 4

d. He/she has not been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude by a court of competent jurisdiction. Scope of Chemical Engineer Board Examination The examination shall include but not limited to: 1. Physical and chemical principles 2. General engineering 3. Chemical engineering Based on Sec. 19 of Chemical Engineering Law of 2004, an examinee must obtain a general average of no less than seventy per centum (70%) and a rating of no less than fifty per centum (50%) in any examination subject. Oath of Professional All successful examinees shall be required to take an Oath of Professional before the Board or any government official authorized by PRC to administer oaths, before entering upon the practice of chemical engineering.

Chemist Chemist is any person, who is a holder of a valid certificate of registration and professional identification card issued by the Board of Chemistry, who for fee, salary or other compensation or reward to himself or to another person renders professional service requiring the use and application of chemical knowledge, and/or chemical or physico-chemical processes. Board is the Professional Regulatory Board of Chemistry in the Philippines which is created under Republic Act No. 754. Except as otherwise specifically allowed under the provisions of R.A. 754, an examination is required to be undergone by all applicants for registration as chemists. Applicants for exam and for a certificate, prior to admission to chemist board examination, shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He is at least twenty-one years of age and a citizen of the Philippines. b. He is of good reputation and moral character. c. He has graduated in chemistry from a school, college or university recognized by the Government after completing a resident collegiate course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, of not less than four years, or its equivalent Bachelors degree with at least sixty university units in chemistry. Two and a half years of practical experience in chemistry may be considered a sufficient equivalent for every year of college education. Applicants below twenty-one years of age may be allowed to take the examination, but the certificate of registration shall be withheld until the candidate has reached the age of twenty-one years. Scope of Chemist Board Examination 5

The examination shall include: 1. General chemistry 2. Analytical chemistry 3. Industrial chemistry 4. Allied subjects 5. Specialization Specialization is a choice of any branch of chemistry from an advance standpoint, either applied, analytical, or theoretical. It shall be the duty of the Board to prepare the program of examination to be submitted to the President of the Philippines through the Commissioner of PRC for approval and to publish the same as approved at least six months before the date of the examination wherein it is six months before the date of the examination wherein it is to be used. Any alteration or amendment that the Board may later wish to introduce in said program shall also be approved by the President of the Philippines and published at least six months before the date of the examination. Oath of Professional All successful examinees shall be required to take an Oath of Professional before the Board or any government official authorized by PRC to administer oaths, before entering upon the Practice of Chemistry.

Civil Engineer Civil engineer is a person duly registered with the Board for Civil Engineers. He is a holder of a valid certificate of registration and professional identification card from the PRC. Civil engineer renders services in the form of consultation, design, preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, erection, installation and supervision of the construction of streets, bridges, highways, railroads, airports and hangars, port works, canals, river and shore improvements, lighthouses, and dry docks; buildings, fixed structures for irrigation, flood protection, drainage, water supply and sewerage works; demolition of permanent structures; and tunnels. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Civil Engineering. A technical examination is required to be passed by all applicants for registration for the practice of civil engineering. Applicants for admission to the civil engineering examination as herein provided shall, prior to the date of the examination, establish to the satisfaction of the Board that he has the following qualifications: a. Be at least twenty-one years of age. b. Be a citizen of the Philippines. c. Be of good reputation and moral character. d. Be a graduate of a four-year course in civil engineering from a school, institute, college or university recognized by the Government or the State wherein it is established. Scope of Civil Engineer Board Examination The examination shall include, in the discretion of the Board: 6

1. mathematics, including algebra, plane and spherical trigonometry, analytics, descriptive and solid geometry, differential and integral calculus, and rational and applied mechanics 2. hydraulics 3. surveying, including highway and railroad surveying; plane, topographic and hydrographic surveying, and advance surveying 4. design and construction of highways and railroads, masonry structures, wooden and reinforced concrete buildings, bridges, towers, walls, foundations, piers, ports, wharves, aqueducts, sanitary engineering works, water supply systems, dikes, dams and irrigation and drainage canals. Oath of Profession All successful candidates in the examination shall be required to take a professional oath before the Board of Civil Engineers or other Government Officials authorized to administer oaths, prior to entering upon the practice of the civil engineering profession.

Electrical Engineer Electrical engineer refers to a person who holds a valid certificate of registration and a valid professional license from PRC, which qualifies him/her to hold himself/herself out to practice electrical engineering in the Philippines, under R.A. No. 7920.

Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Electrical Engineering which is under the administrative control and supervision of the Professional Regulations Commission of the Philippines. Except as otherwise specifically allowed in RA 7920, a technical examination is required to be undergone and passed by all applicants for registration for the practice of electrical engineering in the Philippines. Examination is given twice a year, in Manila and other places. Applicants for registration for professional electrical engineer, shall, on or before the date of registration, establish to the satisfaction of the Board that: a. He is a citizen of the Philippines. b. He is of good reputation with high moral values. c. He has not been finally convicted by the court of an offense involving moral turpitude. d. He is a holder of the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electric Engineering (BSEE) from a university, school, college, academy or institute duly constituted, recognized and accredited by the Philippine government. e. He is a registered electrical engineer with valid certificate of registration and professional license and with four (4) years or more of active practice reckoned from the date of his registration as a registered electrical engineer. Applicants for examination for registered electrical engineer, shall, on or before the date of the examination, establish to the satisfaction of the Board that: a. He is a citizen of the Philippines. b. He is at least twenty-one (21) years of age. c. He is of good reputation with high moral values. d. He has not been finally convicted by the court of an offense involving moral turpitude. 7

e. He is a holder of the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from a university, school, college, academy or institute duly constituted, recognized and accredited by the Philippine government. Applicants for examination for registered master electrician, shall, on or before the date of the examination, establish to the satisfaction of the Board that: a. He is a citizen of the Philippines. b. He is at least eighteen (18) years of age. c. He is of good reputation with high moral values. d. He has not been finally convicted by the court of an offense involving moral turpitude. e. He has any of the following technical backgrounds: 1. Has completed at least three (3) years of a five-year Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) program or a three-year course in electrical engineering technology from an engineering school recognized by the Philippine government and, in addition, has a subsequent specific record of one (1) year practice in electrical wiring and installation, operation and maintenance of utilization devices and equipment or 2. Has graduated from a two-year electrician's course of instruction from a vocational or trade school recognized by the Philippine government and, in addition, has at least two (2) years of apprenticeship after completion of the course of instruction on electrical installation, operation and maintenance of utilization devices and equipment or 3. Has completed a one-year electrician's course of instruction from a vocational school recognized by the Philippine government and, in addition, has at least three (3) years of apprenticeship after completion of the course of instruction on electrical installation, operation and maintenance of utilization devices and equipment or 4. Has completed a four-year high school education or its equivalent and, in addition, has subsequent specific record of at least five (5) years of apprenticeship in electric wiring, installation, operation and maintenance of utilization devices and equipment. Scope of Electrical Engineer Board Examination For professional electrical engineer, the oral examination or interview shall be conducted on the following documents to be submitted to the Board: 1. Certified experience record from the date applicant took oath as a registered electrical engineer indicating the inclusive dates, companies worked for, description of specific responsibilities, significant accomplishments as well as the name and position of immediate supervisors. 2. Technical paper covering an evaluation, an analysis, a study or a critical discussion of an electrical engineering project or subject, on one or several technical aspects such as: design, construction, installation, commissioning, testing, operation, maintenance, repair, research and the like. The technical paper shall be supported by engineering principles and data. Published or unpublished scientific paper or treatise on electrical engineering theories and applications may be considered as complying with the requirement. 3. Three (3) certifications signed by three (3) professional electrical engineers to the effect that the experience record submitted by the applicant is factual and that the technical paper submitted was actually prepared by the applicant. For registered electrical engineer, the written examination covers subjects or group of subjects:

1. Mathematics, such as: algebra, trigonometry, analytic geometry, differential calculus, integral calculus, differential equations, complexnumbers, probability and statistics, advanced engineering mathematics including matrices, power series, Fourier analysis, Laplace transforms, and others. 2. Engineering sciences and allied subjects, such as general chemistry, college physics, computer fundamentals and programming, engineering materials, engineering mechanics, fluid mechanics, strength of materials, thermodynamics, electrical engineering law, engineering economics, engineering management, contracts and specifications, code of professional ethics, Philippine Electrical Code, Parts 1 and 2 and others. 3. Electrical engineering professional subjects, such as: electrical circuits, electronic theory and circuits energy conversion, power transmission and distribution, instrumentation and measurement, circuit and line protection, control systems, principles of communication, electrical machines, electrical equipment, components and devices, electric systems, power plant, electronic power equipment, illumination, building wiring and others. For registered master electrician, the written examination covers subjects or group of subjects: 1 Technical subjects: - Ohm's Law: Calculations for resistance, current, voltage and power for direct current and alternating current circuits. - Electrical machines: Description and operating principles of motors, generators and transformers. - Control equipment: Description and function of fuses, overload relays, safety switches, magnetic switches, circuit breakers, stardelta motor starters, transformer-type motor starters, D.C. motor starters. - Electrical components: Description of resistors, capacitors, inductors and semi-conductors. - Maintenance and repair: Description of the procedures in the maintenance of electrical machinery. - Test equipment: Types and uses of measuring instruments. - Electrical engineering law provisions pertaining to registered master electrician. - Other related subjects as may be prescribed by the Board. 2. Philippine Electrical Code, Parts 1 and 2: - General requirements for installation of electric wiring and equipment. - Approved wiring methods. - Types of wiring materials and wiring devices. - Installation of switchboard and panel boards. - Installation in hazardous locations. - Wiring diagrams of different types of motor starters with motor protection. - Drawing symbols and wiring plants. - Other related subjects as may be prescribed by the Board.

Electronics Engineer Electronics engineer refers to a person who is qualified to hold himself/herself out as a duly PRC registered/licensed electronics engineer based on Republic Act No. 9292 and to affix to his/her name the letters ECE. Professional electronics engineer is a a duly PRC registered/licensed professional electronics engineer based on R. A. No. 9292. He/she is qualified to affix to his/her name the letters PECE. Electronics technician is qualified person to hold himself/herself out as a duly PRC registered/licensed electronics technician under Electronics Engineering Law of 2004. He/she is to affix to his/her name the letters ECT. 9

ECE or electronics and communications engineer refers to a person qualified to hold himself/herself out as a duly-registered/licensed electronics and communications engineer based on Republic Act No. 5734. Duly registered means holding a valid Certificate of Registration and a valid Professional Identification Card. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering whisch is under the administrative control and supervision of the PRC of the Philippines. Except as otherwise specifically provided in RA 9292, a licensure examination is required to be undergone by all applicants seeking to be registered and licensed as electronics engineers, and electronics technicians. Applicants for examination for Electronics engineer or Electronics technician, must, at the time of the filing of his/her application, establish to the satisfaction of the Board that: a. He/She is a citizen of the Philippines or of a foreign country qualified to take the examination as provided for in Section 33 of RA 9292. b. He/She is of good moral character and had not been convicted by a court of law of a criminal offense involving moral turpitude. c. For the Electronics Engineering examinations, he/she is a holder of a degree of Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or subject to compliance with minimum requirements to be prescribed by the Board, such equivalent and/or related engineering course or program from any school, institute, college, or university recognized by the Government or the State where it is established, after completing a resident collegiate course equivalent to that of a full baccalaureate degree. d. For the Electronics Technician examinations: 1. He/she is a graduate of an Associate, Technician, Trade or Vocational course in electronics or, subject to the evaluation of the Board, such equivalent and/or related formal or non-formal course or program from any school, college, university or training institution recognized by the Government or the State where it is established, after completing a resident course or program of not less than two (2) years, or 2. He/she has completed at least the minimum third-year equivalent of a Bachelor of Science program in Electronics and Communications Engineering or Electronics Engineering program according to CHED guidelines, or, subject to the evaluation of the Board such equivalent and/or related engineering course or program from any school, institute, college or university recognized by the Government or State where it is established. Scope of Board Examination For Electronics engineers, the examination consists of written tests which shall cover subjects prescribed by the Board but including at least the following: 1. Mathematics 2. Applied sciences 3. Engineering economics 4. Laws and ethics 5. Electronics 6. Communications 7. Computers 8. Information and communications technology 10

For electronics technician, the examination consists of written and/or practical tests covering subjects to be prescribed by the Board of Electronics Engineering and shall cover subjects specific to the practice of electronics technicians. Oath of Profession All successful examinees and all those who have qualified for registration without examination shall be required to take a professional oath before any member of the Board of Electronics Engineering or any person authorized by the Commission before they start their practice as a Professional Electronics Engineer, Electronics Engineer or Electronics Technician.

Geodetic Engineer Geodetic Engineer is a natural person who has been issued a Certificate of Registration by the Board of Geodetic Engineering and has taken the Oath of Profession of Geodetic Engineers in accordance to Philippine Geodetic Engineering Act of 1998. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Geodetic Engineering in the Philippines. A licensure examination is required to be undergone and passed by all applicants for registration for the practice of geodetic engineering as provided for in R.A. 8560. Applicants for geodetic engineer board examination shall establish the following to the satisfaction of the Board: a. That he is a citizen of the Philippines b: That he is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering in a school, academy, insitute or college duly recognized by the Philippine Government. Scope of Geodetic Engineer Board Examination These subjects and their syllabi may be amended by the Board so as to conform to technological changes brought about by continuing trends in the geodetic engineering. The examination shall include but not limited to the following subjects: 1. Mathematics 2. Theory and practice of surveying 3. Property surveying including isolated, cadastral, mineral and mining surveys 4. Cartography and photogrammetry 5. Geodesy, geodetic surveying and least squares 6. Engineering surveys and construction surveying 7. Laws on natural resources including laws on property, land registration and agrarian reform 8. Laws on obligations and contracts 9. Code of ethics of the profession

Based on Sec. 15 of Republic Act No. 8560, in order to pass the examination an examinee must obtain a weighted general average of seventy percent (70%), with no grade lower than fifty-five percent (55%) in any of the above mentioned subjects. Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take an oath of profession before any member of the Board or before any government official authorized by PRC or any person authorized by law to administer oaths before entering the practice of geodetic engineering in the Philippines. Landscape Architect Landscape architect is a natural person qualified to practice Landscape Architecture and who has been issued a valid certificate of registration/professional license and a valid professional identification card as such by the Board created under Republic Act No. 9053 and the Professional Regulation Commission. Board refers to Professional Regulatory Board of Landscape Architecture which was created under Philippine Landscape Architecture Act of 2000. Except as otherwise specifically allowed in R. A. 9053, a written technical examination is required to be undergone and passed by all applicants for the practice of Landscape Architecture. Applicants for landscape architect board examination shall, prior to admission, establish the following requisites to the satisfaction of the Board: a. A citizen of the Philippines or a citizen of a foreign country/state with which the Philippines has reciprocity in the practice of Landscape Architecture. b. A graduate of baccalaureate or post graduate degree in Landscape Architecture from an academic institution recognized by the CHED or accredited with either the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) or the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). c. Or in lieu of the preceding, a graduate of a baccalaureate degree in Architecture from an academic institution having at least twenty (20) units of Landscape Architecture design courses or with at least five (5) years experience in the field of Landscape Architecture; or a graduate of a baccalaureate degree in Horticulture from an academic institution having at least forty (40) units of Landscape Architecture design subjects or at least five (5) years experience in the field of Landscape Architecture: Provided, That this shall apply within ten (10) years after the passage of R. A. 9053. d. Has not been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude. Scope of Landscape Architecture Board Examination The examination shall cover the following subjects: 1. Landscape architectural design and planning 2. Ecology and nature conservation 3. Landscaping technology and materials 4. Planting design and interior plantscaping 5. Professional practice and ethics 6. History of landscape architecture and theory of design

These subjects and their syllabi may be amended by the Board so as to conform to technological changes brought about by continuing trends in the landscape achitecture profession. Based on Section 15 of Philippine Landscape Architecture Act of 2000, in order to pass the landscape architect board exam, an examinee must obtain a weighted general average of seventy percent (70%), with no grades lower than sixty percent (60%) in any given subject. Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take an oath of profession before the Board or any government official authorized to administer oaths, prior to the practice of the Landscape Architecture in the Philippines.

Marine Engineer Officer refers to a duly registered, certified and licensed chief engineer, second engineer, and officer-in-charge of an engineering watch in a manned engine-room or designated duty engineer in a periodically unmanned engine-room, and coastal engineer. Boards are the Professional Regulatory Board of Marine Deck Officers and the Professional Regulatory Board of Marine Engineer Officers. A written licensure examination is required to be undergone and passed by all applicants for registration for the practice of the Maritime Profession. Applicants for board examination shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board the following: a. He is a citizen of the Philippines. b. He is of good moral character. c. He has met standards of medical fitness, particularly with good eyesight and hearing as certified by a Department of Health accredited medical institution conducting physical and medical examinations for seafarers. d. In the case of Marine Deck Officer / Marin Engineer Officer 1. He must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Maritime Transportation or; 2. He must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering in a school, academy, institute, college or university duly recognized by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education.

e. For an applicant taking the examination other than that for the Marine Deck Officer / Marine Engineer Officer, he must have completed a course approved by the appropriate government agency, as defined in the rules and regulations implementing Republic Act No. 8544. Scope of Marine Deck Officer / Marine Engineer Officer Board Examination The examination shall consists, among others, the following: 1. navigation 2. cargo handling and stowage; 3. controlling the operation of the ship and care for the persons on-board 4. marine engineering 5. electrical, electronic and control engineering 6. maintenance and repair 7. radio communications at the following levels of responsibility: a. management level b. operation level Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take a professional oath before the Board of Marine Deck Officers / Board of Marine Engineer Officers or any government official authorized to administer oaths, before practicing as a Maritime Professional.

Master Plumber Master plumber is a person duly registered with the Board of Master Plumber in the manner as provided in Philippine Plumbing Law. Board is the Professional Regulatory Board of Plumber which is under the administrative control and supervision of the PRC of the Philippines. An examination is required to be undergone and passed by all applicants for registration as master plumber in the Philippines. All applicants shall, prior to the date of the examination, establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He is at least twenty one (21) years of age. b. He is a citizen of the Philippines. c. He is of good moral character. d. He is at least a high school graduate. e. He has at least five years of experience in actual plumbing work under the supervision of a registered master plumber. Scope of Master Plumber Board Examination The examination covers these subjects: a. Plumbing arithmetic b. Plumbing Code 15

c. Sanitation, plumbing design and installation d. Practical problems e. Oral practice problems and experience Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take a professional oath before the Board of Master Plumber or any government official authorized by PRC to administer oaths, before entering upon the trade of registered master plumber.

Mechanical Engineer Mechanical engineer has three categories for Certificate of Registration: Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME), Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME), and Certified Plant Mechanic (CPM). A person is practicing mechanical engineering or rendering mechanical engineering service when he performs: consultation, valuation, investigation and management services requiring mechanical engineering knowledge; engineering design, preparation of plans, specifications and projects studies or estimates for mechanical equipment, machinery, or processes of any mechanical works, projects or plants; management or supervision of the erection, installation, alteration, testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment, machinery, or processes in mechanical works, projects or plants; management, supervision, operation, tending or maintenance of any mechanical equipment, machinery or processes in mechanical work, projects or plants; management or supervision of the manufacture, sale, supply or distribution of mechanical equipment parts or components; teaching of mechanical engineering professional subjects in government recognized and accredited engineering schools; and employment in government as a professional mechanical engineer, registered mechanical engineer, or certified plant mechanic if the nature and character of his work is in line with his profession requiring professional knowledge of the science of mechanical engineering. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Mechanical Engineering. A written technical examination is required to be undergone and passed by all applicants for registration for the practice of mechanical engineering. Applicants for professional mechanical engineering board examination, at the time of filing of his application, shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He is a citizen of the Philippines. b. He must not have been convicted by a court of law of a crime involving moral turpitude. c. He has a valid certificate of registration and he is a registered mechanical engineer and a holder of a valid professional license. d. He has graduated from an engineering school or college of recognized standing, after completing an approved course in mechanical engineering. e. He has specific record of a total of four (4) years or more of active mechanical engineering practice, reckoned from the time he registered a mechanical engineering practice f. He is competent to practice, as attested to by at least two (2) professional mechanical engineers. Applicants for exam and for a Certificate of Registration as Mechanical Engineer, prior to admission to examination, shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: 16

a. He is a citizen of the Philippines. b. He must not have been convicted by a court of law of a crime involving moral turpitude. c. He holds the degree of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a university, school, College, academy, or institute duly constituted and recognized as such by the government. Applicants for exam for a Certificate of Registration as Certified Plant Mechanic, shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He must not have been convicted by a court of law of a crime involving moral turpitude. b. He has graduated from a vocational or trade school duly recognized by the government after completing an approved course of not less than two (2) years in stationary or power plant engineering or any mechanical plant operation. c. He has specific record of an additional one (1) year or more of active practice in mechanical plant operation of such character as indicated in an affidavit of a registered professional mechanical engineer and, likewise establish to the satisfaction of the Board, that the applicant is competent to undertake the operation, tending and maintenance of mechanical works, projects or plant of not less than one hundred (100) kilowatts. Scope of Mechanical Engineer Board Examination For Professional Mechanical Engineer, the granting of professional mechanical engineer Certificate of Registration shall be testimonial in nature which shall include the submission of an enumeration of the applicants - experience including the presentation of an engineering report/technical paper pertinent to his line of experience attested to by two (2) or more profession mechanical engineers in an affidavit for this purpose. For Mechanical Engineer, the written examination covers, as prescribed by the Board, different subjects or group of subjects: 1. Machine design, materials, and shop practice 2. Industrial and power plant engineering 3. Mathematics engineering economics and basic engineering sciences For Certified Plant Mechanic, the examination may be written or oral on subject matters based on the following submitted statement of experience: 1. Elements of power plant machinery 2. Elements of industrial plant machinery 3. Shop machinery and practice. These subjects and their syllabi may be amended by the Board so as to conform to technological changes brought about by continuing trends in mechanical engineering. Based on Sec. 18 of the Philippine Mechanical Engineering Act of 1998, in order to pass the examination, an examinee must obtain an average of seventy percent (70%) on all subjects, with no rating below fifty percent (50%) in any of the subjects. All successful examinees shall be required to take an oath of profession before any member of the Board or before any government official authorized by PRC or any person authorized by law to administer oaths before entering the practice of the mechanical engineering in the Philippines.

Metallurgical Engineer Metallurgical engineer refers to a person, who is a holder of a valid certificate of registration and professional identification card in metallurgical engineering, who renders, or of offers to render professional service in metallurgical engineering in the form of consultation, investigation, evaluation, planning, designing, or supervision of operation of metallurgical plants for a fee, salary or other reward or compensation, paid directly or indirectly, or even without such reward, compensation, fee or salary. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Metallurgical Engineering in the Philippines. Unless exempted under Sec. 16 of Metallurgical Engineering Law of the Philippines, a licensure examination for metallurgical engineers is required to be taken and passed by all applicants for registration for the practice of metallurgical engineering. Applicants for metallurigical engineer board examination shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He is a citizen of the Philippines or if a foreigner, his country must accord reciprocity with the Philippines. b. He is at least twenty-one years of age. c. He is of good reputation and moral character. d. He is graduated from a school, college, university or institute recognized by the government with at least: 1. Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering or Metallurgy or its equivalent, the course for which covers not less than the total number of credit units equivalent to the regular course in metallurgical engineering; or Bachelor or Science in Mining Engineering or Chemical Engineering and in addition has had at least five years experience in any or all of metallurgical engineering practice as defined in Section 12 of P.D. 1536. 2. Bachelor of Science in any other engineering disciplines and in addition has had at least 10 years experience in any or all of the metallurgy or metallurgical engineering practice as defined in Section 12 of P.D. 1536: Provided, That the said experience is certified by the applicants employer and approved by the Board: Provided, further, That said other engineering professions shall give the same privilege to graduates of metallurgy or metallurgical engineering. Scope of Metallurgical Engineer Board Examination The examination shall cover the following subjects: 1. Mineral processing, extractive metallurgy,assaying and chemistry 2. Physical and applied metallurgy 3. Applied mathematics, mechanics, and design,construction, installation, maintenance and operation of metallurgical plants 4. Fuel technology, foundry, and refractory science 5. Engineering management, law and ethics

In order to pass the examination, an examinee must obtain a weighted general average rating of seventy five percent (75%), with no rating below fifty percent (50%) in any subject. Any examinee who fails to obtain the passing grade of 75% but obtained 75% in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, Assaying and Chemistry, and in Physical and Applied Metallurgy, may be allowed to take a removal examination in the subjects where he failed, within one (1) year from the date of the release of the results of the examination, and if the examinee still fails to obtain the passing grade of 75%, he has to take the complete examination. Any examinee who fails to obtain the passing grade of 75% and obtains less than 75% in either of the major subjects, shall take the complete examination. Oath of Profession All successful applicants shall be required to take a professional oath before the Board or any other person authorized by the PRC or by law, before entering the practice of metallurgical engineering in the Philippines.

Mining Engineer Mining engineer refers to a person who is a holder of a valid certificate of registration and professional identification card in mining engineering , who renders mining engineering service within the meaning and intent of Republic Act No. 4274, who shall, for a fee, salary or other reward of compensation, paid to him or through another person, or even without such compensation, render or offer to render by means of signs, cards, advertisements, written reports, and/or in any other manner offer to practice mining engineering in the form of consultation, investigation, mining reports, valuation and ore reserve calculation; take charge of, direct and/or supervise underground and/or surface mining, opencuts, pits and/or quarries; shaft sinking, tunnelling, stopping, dredging, hydraulicking and sluicing for minerals and/or mineral products: Provided, that the above functions are exercised in a responsible and independent capacity. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Mining Engineering. Except as otherwise specifically allowed under the provisions of Mining Engineering Law of the Philippines, a written examination is required to be undergone by all applicants for registration for the practice of mining engineering. Applicants for mining engineer board examination shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He is at least twenty-one years of age: Provided, that an applicant possessing all theory qualifications contained in this section who is under twenty-one years of age may be allowed to take the examinations on condition that he shall not be granted a certificate until after he attains twenty-one years of age. b. If a foreigner, his country accords reciprocity with the Philippines. c. He is of good reputation and moral character. d. He has graduated with at least a bachelor of science degree in mining engineering, from a duly recognized school, college or university; or bachelor of science in any engineering course or in geology, plus at least five years of practical mining experience subject to evaluation by the Board: Provided, that other engineering professions shall give this same privilege to graduates in mining engineering. Scope of Mining Engineer Board Examination 19

The examination shall cover these subjects: 1. Mining engineering and economics, mining laws and ethics 2. Metallurgy, ore dressing and assaying 3. Geology and surveying 4. Applied mathematics Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take a professional oath before any member of the Board or any other person authorized by the PRC or by law prior entering upon the practice of mining engineering in the Philippines.

Naval Architect Naval architect and marine engineer refers to a person, who is a holder of a valid certificate of registration and professional identification card in naval architecture and marine engineering, who performs services in the form of plans, specifications, estimates, or supervision of the construction, alteration, or structural survey of any floating vessel or equipment, self-propelled or otherwise; plans or layouts, specifications, estimates or supervision of the installation of marine power plants and associated equipment including screw propeller, paddle wheel and Voith- Schneider propeller, or any other means of transmitting power from the main propulsion engine(s) to the buoyant fluid, marine auxiliaries, including refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, and heating plants and equipment and hull machineries; management, maintenance or operation of any shipyard, graving dock marine slipways, and any facility for the salvage, repair or maintenance of floating vessels or equipments. The enumeration of any work in Sec. 2 of R. A. 4565 shall not be construed as excluding any other work requiring naval architecture and marine engineering knowledge and application. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in the Philippines. Unless otherwise exempted by specific provisions of Republic Act No. 4565, a technological examination is required to be passed by all applicants for registration as naval architecture and marine engineer. Applicants for naval architecture and marine engineering board examination shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. Be at least twenty-one years of age. b. Be a citizen of the Philippines. c. Be of good reputation and of good moral character. d. Be a holder of the degree of bachelor of science in naval architecture and marine engineering from a school, college, institute or university recognized by the Government of the Republic of the Philippines; or, in the case of a school, college, institute or university established in a foreign country by the Government of such country. Scope of Naval Architect and Marine Engineer Board Examination Based on The Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Law, the examination shall include the following subjects: 20

1. Mathematics 2. Theoretical and applied mechanics 3. Naval architecture 4. Marine engineering and such other pertinent subjects as the Board may deem necessary. Oath of Profession All registered naval architecture and marine engineers shall be required to take a professional oath before the Board or any other person authorized by the PRC or by law, before entering the practice of naval architecture and marine engineering.

Sanitary Engineer Sanitary engineer is a person duly registered with the Board in the manner as provided in Republic Act No. 1364. Board refers to Professional Regulatory Board of Sanitary Engineering. As provided in Philippine Sanitary Engineering Law, a technical examination is required to be undergone by all applicants for registration for the practice of sanitary engineering. The exam is to be given in Manila, in dates as the Commission may designate subject to the compliance with the requirements prescribed by the Commission in accordance with PRC Modernization Act of 2000. Applicants for sanitary engineer board examination shall, prior to the date of the examination, establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. Be at least twenty-one years of age. b. Be a citizen of the Philippines. c. Be of good reputation and moral character. d. Be a graduate of a four-year course in sanitary engineering or BSCE having taken major subjects in sanitary engineering from a school, institute, college or university recognized by the Government or the State wherein it is established. Scope of Sanitary Engineer Board Examination The examination shall cover the following subjects: 1. Mathematics, including algebra, plane and spherical trigonometry, analytics, descriptive and solid geometry, differential and integral calculus, rational and applied mechanics 2. Hydraulics, topographic and hydrographic surveying 3. Design and construction of wooden, masonry, reinforced concrete, and steel structures as flumes, water towers and drainage canals 4. Hydrology 5. Water and sewage analysis 6. Microbiology and bacteriology; design and construction of sewers, storm drains, water purification plants, sewage treatment plants and plumbing Duly registered civil engineers shall be exempted from taking examinations in the following subjects: 1. Mathematics, including algebra, plane calculus, rational and applied mechanics 21

2. Hydraulics 3. Topographic and hydrographic surveying 4. Design and construction of wooden, masonry, reinforced concrete and steel structures as flumes, water towers and drainage canals Oath of Profession All successful candidates shall be required to take a professional oath before any member of the Board or any other person authorized by the PRC or by law prior to entering upon the practice of sanitary engineering.

Sugar Technologist Sugar technologist is any person who, for fee, salary or other compensation or reward to himself or to another person, renders professional service requiring the knowledge of sugar technology. Based on R.A. No. 5197, practice of sugar technology, is the agronomy of sugar cane plants; analysis, synthesis and preparation of sugar; the manufacture, processing and refining of sugar; the industrial utilization of sugar and its by-products; consultation work on problems involving the processing, manufacture, refining, or industrial utilization of sugar; and the teaching of professional courses in sugar technology. Board is the Professional Regulatory Board of Sugar Technologist in the Philippines which was created in accordance with Republic Act No. 5197. Except as otherwise specifically allowed under the provisions of R.A. 5197, an examination is required to be undergone by all apllicants for registration as sugar technologists. Applicants for sugar technologist board examination and for a certificate of registration, shall prior to admission to exam, establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. He/she is a citizen of the Philippines and at least twenty-one years of age. b. He/she is of good reputation and moral character. c. He/she has graduated in sugar technology from a school, college or university recognized by the Government after completing a resident collegiate course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Sugar Technology of not less than five years, or its equivalent baccalaureate degree. Three years of practical experience in sugar technology may be considered as sufficient equivalent for every year of college education which experience must be acquired before the application for examination. d. Applicants below twenty-one years of age may be allowed to take the examination, but the certificate of registration shall be withheld until the candidate has reached the age of twenty-one years. Scope of Sugar Technologist Board Examination The exam shall cover the following subjects: 1. Sugar cane agronomy 2. Sugar Chemistry and chemical control 3. Sugar engineering and instrumentation 4. Sugar manufacture and refining 5. By-products utilization 6. Professional ethics for sugar technologists 22

Oath of Profession All successful examinees shall be required to take a professional oath before the board of sugar technologist or any government official authorized by PRC to administer oaths, prior entering upon the practice of sugar technology in the Philippines.

Teacher Teacher refers to a person engaged in teaching at the elementary and secondary levels, whether on fulltime or part-time basis, including industrial arts or vocational teachers and all other persons performing supervisory and/or administrative functions in all schools in the aforesaid levels and qualified to practice teaching under RA 7836. A valid Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card from the PRC are required before any person is allowed to practice as a professional teacher in the Philippines. Board refers to the Professional Regulatory Board for Professional Teachers. A licensure examination is required to be undergone by all applicants for registration as professional teachers. The exam will be given at least once a year. Applicants for board examination shall establish to the satisfaction of the Board: a. a. He/She is a citizen of the Philippines, or if a foreigner, must prove that the country of which he/she is a subject or citizen permits Filipino teachers to practice within its territorial jurisdiction on the same basis as the subjects or citizens of such country. b. At least eighteen (18) years of age. c. In good health and of good reputation with high moral values. d. Has not been convicted by final judgment by a court for an offense involving moral turpitude. e. A graduate of a school, college or university recognized by the government and possesses the minimum educational qualifications, as follows: 1. For teachers in preschool, a bachelor's degree in early childhood education (BECED) or its equivalent. 2. For teachers in the elementary grades, a bachelor's degree in elementary education (BSEED) or its equivalent. 3. For teachers in the secondary grades, a bachelor's degree in education or its equivalent with a major and minor, or a bachelor's degree in arts and sciences with at least ten (10) units in professional education. 4. For teachers of vocational and two-year technical courses, a bachelor's degree in the field of specialization or its equivalent, with at least eighteen (18) units in professional education.
