Criteria for Admission to Std.

XI To qualify for admission to the above Groups, the candidate requires fulfilling the following criteria: 1. Groups 102 and 103: 90% minimum average in all subjects of Std. X Public Exam. 2. Groups 302 and 308: 85% minimum average in all subjects of Std. X Public Exam Second Language offered: Tamil/ Hindi/ French *Students are requested not to change their Second language studied in the previous class/ school, as we have to get an exemption from the Government for the same. However, those candidates who would like to change their Second language are requested to prepare for the same at home prior to the Selection exam. Those who do fail to qualify in language paper will have to continue with the Second language studied in the previous class (Tamil/ Hindi/ French) if they are admitted with an undertaking. Second language entrance exam will be given only to those candidates who are opting for a new Second language in Std. XI on the same day. The selection of candidates and allotment of Groups will be based on their performance in Std. X for Quarterly, Half Yearly and also in the Government/ Board examinations.

Procedure for Admission 20122013


1. Registration forms will be made available in the school office from 3rd January 2012 till 23rd February 2012. Cost of the Registration Form: Stds. III to IX & XI *Montfort students seeking admission to Std. XI Rs.500* Rs.250

10. Admission To Std XI Admission to Std. XI for boys and girls will commence in February 2012. Registration forms will be issued from the first week of February 2012. Those desirous of admission to Std. XI may apply with attested copies of their Std. X marks obtained in the quarterly and the half yearly examinations. Attestation may be done by the Principal/ Headmaster of the school last studied or by any I.A.S or I.P.S officer or by the local Parish priest.

To obtain the Registration Form, the above amount may be paid in cash (if in person) or by post with a requisition letter and D.D. in favour of Principal, Montfort School, Yercaud, payable at any bank in Yercaud. The Form may also be downloaded from our website. The duly filled up Registration Form must be sent (enclosed) along with the required DD (State Bank of India, Indian Bank, Canara Bank or Tamilnadu Merchantile Bank). 2. Duly filled up Registration Form should reach the school office on or before 25th February 2012 or any other date given by the admission office. 3. Registration Forms are not transferable. 4. Normally admissions are done only for Stds. III and XI. However, according to the availability of seats, a few admissions are done in other classes as well. Admissions are done for both boys and girl students. 5. The Registration Form should include 2 self-addressed, stamped long envelopes (Rs.35) and a copy of the attested Birth Certificate along with Marks Lists of Quarterly and Terminal Examinations. 6. Incomplete Registration Forms will be rejected. 7. Admission will be based on the performance of the candidates in their previous school as well as in the selection examination or any other procedures followed. 8. Selected candidates will receive detailed information regarding the admission procedure, course of study, fee schedule, etc. If selected, all the certificates (original) required should be submitted and the fees should be paid at the time of admission. 9. From the academic year (20112012) we follow the Common Syllabus proposed by the Tamil Nadu Government wherein Tamil as Second language is compulsory in Stds. III to VII. These students are also given an option to study an additional language Hindi/ French, if interested. Second language offered in Stds. VIII to X: Tamil/ Hindi/ French.

Private Candidates Those who have appeared for Std. X examination privately or those who are repeating Std. XI will not be admitted to Std. XI in Montfort school. Those who have not studied Tamil, Hindi or French as a Second language in the previous school are not eligible for admission to Std. XI. List of conditionally selected candidates for Std. XI (with the groups allotted) will be published by the end of April 2012. In the case of outside students (boys/ girls who are joining Montfort from other schools), though they may apply in advance, the admission will be confirmed only after Std. X results are announced. Candidates will be called for a Selection exam based on their marks obtained in the quarterly and half yearly examinations in Std. X. The Selection examination will be conducted before the results of Std. X Board Government examinations are published. As soon as they get their mark list, the candidates may send a copy of the same by registered post quoting their Registration number. Based on their marks in the Selection examination and the Public examination, they will be called for the admission.
