TheComboxcontrolunitislocatedinahousingthathasbeendesignedforinstallationwithoutaholder.Thusincertainvehicles,theComboxisinstalledwithoutanadditionalsheetmetalholder.
Intheeventofacollision,however,theimpactenergyistransmitteddirectlytothecontrolunitwhen
thereisnosheetmetalholder.ThereforetheComboxcontrolunitmustbecheckedforexternaldamageafterthevehiclehasbeeninacollision.

TheComboxmakesitpossibletostreamaudiosignalswirelesslyviaBluetoothfromacorresponding
source.Todoso,thesourcemustsupporttheA2DP(AdvancedAudioDistributionProfile).Asource
canbeacellphoneorMP3player,forexample.TheA2DPprofileisusedtotransmittheaudiosignal
only.
TheAVRCP(AudioVideoRemoteControlProfile)isusedforremotecontrolofthesource.Therange
offunctionsoftheremotecontroldependsontheversionofAVRCPsupportedinthesource.Initially
theComboxwillsupportVersion1.0and1.3ofAVRCP.Asof03/2011version1.4ofAVRCPwillbeimplemented.

Althoughaccesstothecellphoneisalwaysread-onlyandtheComboxdoesnotmodifyexistingdataonthephone,onceyouopenanewemailviatheiDrive,thestatusoftheemailonthephonewill
changetoread.
The"CurrentOffice"menuiteminformstheuseraboutthenumberofnewmessages,activetasks
andupcomingappointments.
