Audience feedback was vital throughout our coursework for media, due to the fact that it permitted producers

to be able to understand whether or not their product has successfully reached its potential. Audience feedback also enables you to be able to make changes for the future, and to also ensure that your product is at the best possible standard. In order to be able to gain feedback from the audience, our group decided to use social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and via a focus group in order to do so. Our production was aimed at people between the ages of 12-30. The main reason why we targeted an age group of 12 30 solely because this is the age of the age range of the characters in our film, so ultimately these people would be able to relate to our film more than others. Our film was aimed at males and females, however as a group we feel as if males will be able to relate to our film more as our main character is a male. In person, as a group we were able to get feedback first hand from our focus group. During the course of our focus group, we explained to the members of our focus group what was going to take place, and we also permitted them to view our final product before answering any questions. We asked intriguing questions to our focus group members, and this enabled us to gain feedback. We aimed our film at boys and girls, which is why we included both boys and girls in our focus group so we could gain feedback from both sexes. Moreover, every member of our focus group was at least 12 years old, this was good seeing as they fitted in with our target audience. When we had finished with the focus group, we presented a questionnaire to the focus group to complete individually. The feedback that we were able to get from this questionnaire allowed us to get even more feedback from our audience in relation to our final product

The audience feedback that we were able to get by doing a focus group allowed us to determine whether or not our final product was a success, and whether or not it had reached its full potential. The focus group also enabled us to be informed of the disadvantages and advantages in relation to our final product, and what we could do to improve it, if we had the change to re-film again. The following questions were raised in the focus group: 1.What were your initial thoughts of the film? 2. What genre do you think our film comes into? 3. What do you feel is the strongest aspect of the film? 4. What do you feel is the weakest aspect of the film? Although the questions proposed to our focus group members were basic, they still allowed us to find out what our focus group members thought of our film. Our third question was the strongest aspect of the film. The vast majority of our focus group replied with answers such as they liked the story line, and the music, this means that the story line was not boring, and that we made the right choice when it came to what music to utilize throughout the duration of the film. On the other hand, we received some negative comments on our video. These were comments such as our focus group members longed to know more about our main character, and that we should have used a wider variety of camera shots. Our short film did not give a background insight into the character of Jason, which is almost a puzzle for the audience to workout, however members of the focus group were eager to know what his background was and what he is like away from the field of danger and such, e.g. where he lived, who he associated with, does he have family etc. Our second question required our focus group members to state which genre our film falls into. The majority of our focus group answered with the following answers: - Action Thriller - Thriller Action Seeing as our film was a Action Thriller/Thriller Action, and the members of our focus group were convinced that our film was indeed a Action Thriller/Thriller Action, this ultimately means that we were successful in making our film easily distinguishable genre wise. Moreover, when we were in the process of planning our video, our main goal was to enable our audience to relate to our film, which we successfully did through the age factor of the film, also with the help of editing of sound and impactful cuts made the film more thrilling.

In conclusion, our focus group was beneficial as it helped us to find all the negatives and positives of our film. It also enabled us to determine which improvements we could make if we had another chance to re-film our production.
