Action/Science Fiction film survey Analysis Closed Questions Analysis

The purpose of my first question is to gather the gender of the audience I distributed my survey out to. This is useful as it allows me to understand the preference associated to people of different genders. The first question of my survey was What is your gender? The majority of the people who answered turned out to be male, I inferred this because 14. !" of my responses were female and #$.%1" were male. This suggests that maybe females were reluctant to answer these certain questions or that males were just answering the question dominantly. This is due to the fact that the majority of people that were available were males instead of females, this is why the entirety of the survey is male dominated. This opens up the possibility that my product should be aimed towards male because they showed the most interest in my survey.

The purpose of my second question is as&ing the age of my audience. This is useful as it helps me determine what the ages are of the people I have as&ed this would help me with my final product when finding the age of my target audience. The second question of my survey was What is your age? The majority of people who answered were between the ages of 1$' 1. The percentage of 1$' 1 year olds that answered was !(.4#" this is a massive percentage and towers over the mee& response from two )$ or older year *ld+s response which accumulates to !.$ ". This suggests to me that I should focus my product on the 1$' 1 age range and this is my target audience. ,any science fiction or action films target audience also share this target age range.

The purpose of my third question was to determine who my audience believed would be a more competent protagonist a male or female. #( " of the people who partoo& in the survey said that they wanted a male protagonist and ( " said they wanted a female protagonist. I need to ta&e into account that this question is influenced by the fact that the survey was not given equally to males and females much li&e the first question. The predominant male figures of the survey is li&ely the reason why the survey is #( " -iased to a male protagonist. This question suggests to me that I should have a male protagonist in my product and it is suitable because male protagonists are a convention in many action films.

,y fourth question of the survey was What conventions would you prefer to see in an action/Science fiction film and there were $ possible answers Blood and Gore, Weaponry, super natural beings, High tech gadgets or High body count The answers were very close and the figures showed that they were not far off of each other with the lowest answer being % and the highest answered being 1 . I inferred from this information that I should try and have a mi. of all $ elements of these conventions to appeal to the e.pectations of my target audience. The most favoured convention however was high tech gadgets and I &now this from the results of the survey showing that it was chose the most by the people answering the survey. I would ma&e these conventions prominent in my opening sequence to comply with the e.pectations of the conventions of an /ction01cience 2iction film.

The total number of people that answered this question3 Where in time would you want the film to be set was (. *ut of ( people, % people would prefer a 1cience fiction0action film to be set in the present day and # people would want it to be set in the uture. prefer an action0sci fi film to be set in these two options opposed to the past , which was only selected by ) people and the oreseeable future which was only selected by people. This highlights the two preferable options and suggests to me that my product would be better received by my target audience if it was set in these time periods. /n e.tra question that as&ed the audience why they would want it to be set in the desired periods was answered by 1% people and included various responses and ideas.
