There was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to the baker. One day the baker decided to weigh the butter to see if he was getting a pound and he found that he was not. This angered him and he took the farmer to court. The judge asked the farmer if he was using any measure. The farmer replied, amour Honor, I am primitive. I don't have a proper measure, but I do have a scale." The judge asked, "Then how do you weigh the butter?" The farmer replied "Your Honor, long before the baker started buying butter from me, I have been buying a pound loaf of bread from him. Every day when the baker brings the bread, I put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If anyone is to be blamed, it is the baker." What is the moral of the story? We get back in life what we give to others. Whenever you take an action, ask yourself this question: Am I giving fair value for the wages or money I hope to make? Honesty and dishonesty become a habit. Some people practice dishonesty and can lie with a straight face. Others lie so much that they don't even know what the truth is anymore. But who are they deceiving? Themselves--- more than anyone else. Honesty can be put across gently. Some people take pride in being brutally honest. It seems they are getting a bigger kick out of the brutality than the honesty. Choice of words and tact are important.

Before you think of saying an unkind word

Think of someone who can't speak

Before you complain about the taste of your food Think of someone who has nothing to eat

Before you complain about your husband or wife Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion

Today before you complain about life Think of someone who went too early to heaven

Before you complain about your children Think of someone who desires children but they're barren Before you argue about your dirty house; someone didn't clean or sweep Think of the people who are living in the streets Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet And when you are tired and complain about your job Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around Life is a gift Live it... Enjoy it... Celebrate it... And fulfill it.

Its almost midnight. Jim is lying in his bed. Hes not trying to sleep. Who wants to miss that precious moment in his life when hes turning 18? He too is all willing to get that license and hear the roaring engines firing at 90 miles an hour as he rides his first car on the freeway. Hes sure Sarah will sit beside him clinging to him tightly before they have their first kiss and as of now hes clutching his cell phone tightly hoping it to ring and beep as his peers call him in a few seconds. Jim isnt any different from you and me. Hes just like all of us and questions like why do we live? or why are we born? dont haunt him. He considers them weird and unanswerable just like you and me. They are for him unimportant. Though he doesnt think about them do you know what hes doing as hes lying there? Hes thinking about how much freedom is that stroke of midnight going to give him. Hes thinking about his future and the new experiences it will get him. We all come in this world without much of a choice. We cant choose our parents, we cant

choose our appearances and neither do we have a choice of our innate qualities or tendencies whether good or bad. But theres one more fact. We dont have a choice to die either. Most of us are too afraid of committing suicide. In other words we just dont have the guts. So here we are. Left with decades and sometimes a century of time with not much of choice and so we are forced. Forced to live. In these decades of forced vacation called life, we start finding ways to spend it. Some people use their qualities and tendencies. Some develop them from others. We label these ways in several forms. Some call it love, some profession, some passion and somedont know what!. In short we all have to find something to do because ultimately we have no choice. Long journeys have to have halts and breaks. So we go away from our passions and have experiences. People dont get addicted to alcohol or drugs. They are not addicted to sex. They get addicted to experiences of them. There are so many experiences here. Everyone is addicted to a different experience. This addiction to experiences is what we call life. And its so strong to get rid off that by the time we can only form a list of these experiences, our time here is over! And thats life! Whether having these experiences is good or bad, or what leads to heaven or hell isnt for us to decide. If god exists, he will take care of it. Make justice. Find the best way to spend your vacation here. Thats all. Dont ever cry about yesterday. Be happy because you have today. You may not have a tomorrow to think about it. Some people die in a day, some in weeks. Some old, some young and no one knows when the time is over. The Happy Prince

*A Story to live by*

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.

He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me ?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and

saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him. Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.' *This is how the human brain often works when our status changes*. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations. *Life Is a Gift* Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak. Before you complain about the taste of your food Think of someone who has nothing to eat. Before you complain about your husband or wife Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion. Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who died too early on this earth. Before you complain about your children - Think of

someone who desires children but they're barren. Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets. Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet. And when you are tired and complain about your job Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job. But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - *Remember that not one of us is without sin*. And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.

My mom only had one eye. I hated her... She was such an embarrassment. My mom ran a small shop at a flea market. She collected little weeds and such to sell... Anything for the money we needed she was such an embarrassment. There was this one day during elementary school. I remember that it was field day, and my mom came. I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me? I threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school..."Your mom only has one eye?!" and they taunted me. I wished that my mom would just disappear from this world so I said to my mom, "Mom, why don't you have the other eye?! You're only going to make me a laughingstock. Why don't you just die?" My mom did not respond. I guess I felt a little bad, but at the same time, it felt good to think that I had said what I'd wanted to say all this time. Maybe it was because my mom hadn't punished me, but I didn't think that I had hurt her feelings very badly. That night...I woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. My mom was crying there, so quietly, as if she was afraid that she might wake me. I took a look at her, and then turned away. Because of the thing I had said to her earlier, there was something pinching at me in the corner of my heart. Even so, I hated my mother who was crying out of her one eye. So I told myself that I would grow up and become successful, because I hated my one-eyed mom and our desperate poverty. Then I studied really hard. I left my mother and came to Seoul and studied, and got accepted in the Seoul University with all the confidence I had. Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. Then I had kids, too. Now I'm living happily as a successful man. I like it here because it's a place that doesn't remind me of my mom. This happiness was getting bigger and bigger, when someone unexpected came to see me "What?! Who's this?!" ...It was my mother...Still with her one eye. It felt as if the whole sky was falling apart on me. My little girl ran away, scared of my mom's eye. And I asked her, "Who are you? I don't know you!!!" as if I tried to make that real. I screamed at her "How dare you come to my house and scare my daughter! GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!" And to this, my mother quietly answered, "oh, I'm so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address," and she disappeared. Thank good ness... She doesn't recognize me. I was quite relieved. I told myself that I wasn't going to care, or think about this for the rest of my life. Then a wave of relief came upon me...one day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. I lied to my wife saying that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went down to the old shack, that I used to call a house...just out of curiosity there, I found

my mother fallen on the cold ground. But I did not shed a single tear. She had a piece of paper in her hand.... It was a letter to me. She wrote: My son... I think my life has been long enough now. And... I won't visit Seoul anymore... But would it be too much to ask if I wanted you to come visit me once in a while? I miss you so much. And I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I decided not to go to the school.... For you... I'm sorry that I only have one eye, and I was an embarrassment for you. You see, when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you having to grow up with only one eye... So I gave you mine...I was so proud of my son that was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye. I was never upset at you for anything you did. The couple times that you were angry with me. I thought to myself, 'it's because he loves me.' I miss the times when you were still young around me I miss you so much. I love you. You mean the world to me. My world shattered!!! Then I cried for the person who lived for me... My Mother

Has anyone ever told you " I need You?"

I would like to hear your answer if I were beside you. I really want to hear the word "yes" from you. Because then, you're needed by someone. For now at least only one or two people may need you. But, later, the whole community will need you. Society will then say, " we need you"..................Do you want others to need you??

To be needed you don't necessarily have to be a social worker. It's simple than you think,

because in this world people claim " nothing is impossible" If that is so, why can't you make your presence felt to society. You have to first believe in yourself. Do it step by step... Start from one person closest to you in life. Shall I tell you who's your best friend..who you're believing in and who you lovemore than any one else in the world? It's you yes, its you. no one else................... You may argue with me. "no , it's my loved one, my parents, my husband, my wife , so and so forth. But if you look at your inner self, it will tell you, whom you care for, whom you believe in, whom you love more than any one in the world. As I said earlier, you can first serve the one closest to you, thats you. That means you have to take good care of yourself first, including your health, your abilities, your creativity, your career and everything else. Do something to improve your self. If you don't have much educational qualification, gear up to be qualified. The importance of serving yourself means that. If you don't treat your self properly, you don't treat others. If you don't take good care of your self, you can never care for another person. If you're not educated, you cant educate others. That's why I said you have to serve yourself first. Its the most beautiful compensation process of life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.

Who's next? Aha, then comes your most loved so and so in your life.

Your service Serving and helping others will definitely give comfort to your mind. You do like to see the satisfaction in them which comes out in form of a smile between their lips. Don't you like to see the difference in you, your manners, your inner peace by helping others. There are numerous ways to serve others. You can give a cheerful smile which can heal a

person physically. You can guide a person from wrong path to the correct path, by teaching good manners, disciplines, rules and regulations of life and so on. Your verbal assistant may be very important at times when someone needs a guidance or encouragement. They can be in need of your precious time and energy as well. To be a real friend, as the saying goes " A friend in need is a friend indeed" Leave a footprint Leave a footprint in the sands of time. Let people talk about ur service even after your death. "what we have done for ourselves alone dies with us, what we have done for others and the world remains and is immoral" Make a purpose in life to do some service to others for their well-being. Servicing others is one of your responsibilities. Being grateful for any help you offer is the responsibility of the recipient. Perhaps the person to whom you rendered help may not be grateful to you. "Do everything with a mind that lets go. Don't expect praise or reward" If you expect gratitude for your help, you may be discouraged to continue your admirable work of helping others. "Serving others not expecting a favor in return is really a noble quality of a man"

You cant be selfish You have to eliminate the negative factor of being selfish in order to service others. If you're selfish , your mind doesn't let you be generous. To be fair and final commandment for those who would be useful and helpful to others. So start now to do at least a little favor to another person creating goodwill and lifting his spirits. "Sow good service, sweet remembrances will grown from then"

Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked.

.1

Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God.. God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way. Mind your own business and you will keep your peace. 2. Forgive And Forget. This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly remembering it. Get over this bad habit. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forgive, Forget, and march on. Love flourishes in giving and forgiving. 3. Do Not Crave For Recognition. This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but no sooner than you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill yourself in striving for their recognition? Their recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties ethically and sincerely.

4. Do Not Be Jealous. We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not. You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like these in everyday life. Should you be jealous? No. Remember everybody's life is shaped by his/her destiny, which has now become his/her reality. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the world can stop you. If you are

not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only take away your peace of mind. 5. Change Yourself According To The Environment. If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are you will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you, will mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious. 6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured. This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control. If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully. Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner strength and will power. 7. Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew. This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. . Why take on additional loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your external activities. Reduce your material engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind. 8. Meditate Regularly. Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining twentythree and half-hours. Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.

9. Never Leave The Mind Vacant. An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile. Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your interest. You must decide what you value more: money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work or religious work, may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name. 10. Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret. Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Value your time and do the things that need to be done. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes, but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Why cry over spilt milk?

Please read till end : If you liked it please forward to your friends. SPECIAL GROCERY LIST : Is God There ??? Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food. John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested

that she leave his store at once. Visualizing the family needs, she said: 'Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can.' Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family. The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, 'Do you have a grocery list?' Louise replied, 'Yes sir.' 'O.K' he said, 'put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries.' Louise hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed. The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down. The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, 'I can't believe it.' The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more. The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement. It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said: 'Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.' The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence. Louise thanked him and left the store. The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said; 'It was worth every penny of it. Only God Knows how much a

prayer weighs.' Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good fortune. So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don't have as we do.

May you always walk with Angels God Bless! +++++++++++++++ +++++

"Doing nothing is very hard to do, you never know when you're finished. " "Never argue with a fool. People might not know the difference." "Don't be irreplaceable. If you can't be replaced, you can't be

promoted. " "We are born naked, wet, and hungry, and get slapped on our butt then things get worse." "It's always darkest before dawn So if you're going to steal your neighbor's newspaper, that's the time to do it. " "The brain is a wonderful organ. It starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you get into he office" "I always arrive late at the office, but I make up for it by leaving early." "The guy who invented the first wheel was an idiot; The guy who invented the other three, he was the genius. " "If our constitution allows us free speech, why are there phone bills?" "You know the speed of light, so what's the speed of dark? " "Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy." "If you can't convince them, confuse them." "I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying." "If it weren't for electricity we'd all be watching television by candlelight."

He almost didn't see the old lady stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her. Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe. He looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill only fear can put in you. He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson." Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But, he had to get dirty, and his hands hurt. As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid. Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way. He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, "And think of me." He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day,

but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight. A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then, she remembered Bryan. After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a one hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her one hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you." Under the napkin were four more $100 bills. Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard... She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's gonna be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."

One of the best mail I have ever read....Hope u wud like it as well........ .... My wife called, 'How long will you be with that newspaper? Will you come here & make your darling daughter eat her food? I tossed the paper away & rushed to the scene. My only daughter, Sindu, looked frightened; tears were welling up in her eyes. In front of her was a bowl filled to its brim with curd rice. Sindu is a nice child, quite intelligent for her age. I cleared my throat & picked up the bowl. 'Sindu darling, why don't you take a few

mouthful of this curd rice? Just for Dad's sake dear. Sindu softened a bit & wiped her tears with the back of her hands. 'Ok, Dad.. I will eat not just a few mouthfuls, but the whole lot of this. But, you should...' Sindu hesitated. 'Dad, if I eat this entire curd rice, will you give me whatever I ask for?' 'Promise'. I covered the pink soft hand extended by my daughter with mine, & clinched the deal. Now I became a bit anxious. 'Sindu, dear, you shouldn't insist on getting a computer or any such expensive items. Dad does not have that kind of money right now. Ok?' 'No, Dad. I do not want anything expensive'. Slowly & painfully, she finished eating the whole quantity. I was silently angry with my wife & my mother for forcing my child to eat something that she detested. After the ordeal was through, Sindu came to me with her eyes wide with expectation. All our attention was on her. 'Dad, I want to have my head shaved off, this Sunday!' was her demand. 'Atrocious!' shouted my wife, 'A girl child having her head shaved off? Impossible!' 'Never in our family!' My mother rasped. 'She has been watching too much of TV. Our culture is getting totally spoiled with this TV programs!' 'Sindu, darling, why don't you ask for something else? Well be sad seeing you with a clean-shaven head.' 'Please, Sindu, why don't you try to understand our feelings?' I tried to plead with her. 'Dad, you saw how difficult it was for me to eat that Curd Rice'. Sindu was in tears. '& you promised to grant me whatever I ask for. Now, you are going back on your words. Was it not you who told me the story of King Harishchandra, its moral that we should honor our promises no matter what?' It was time for me to call the shots. 'Our promise must be kept.' 'Are you out of your mind?' chorused my mother & wife. 'No. If we go back on our promises, she will never learn to honour her own. Sindu, your wish will be fulfilled.' With her head clean-shaven, Sindu had a round-face & her eyes looked big & beautiful. On Monday morning, I dropped her at her school. It was a sight to watch my hairless Sindu walking towards her classroom. She turned around & waved. I waved back with a smile. Just then, a boy alighted from a car & shouted, 'Sinduja, please wait for me!' What struck me was the hairless head of that boy. 'May be, that is the in-stuff', I thought.

'Sir, your daughter Sinduja is great indeed!' Without introducing herself, a lady got out of the car, & continued, 'that boy who is walking along with your daughter is my son Harish. He is suffering from... leukemia'. She paused to muffle her sobs. 'Harish could not attend the school for the whole of the last month. He lost all his hair due to the side effects of the chemotherapy. He refused to come back to school fearing the unintentional but cruel teasing of the schoolmates. Sinduja visited him last week & promised him that she will take care of the teasing issue. But, I never imagined she would sacrifice her lovely hair for the sake of my son! Sir, you & your wife are blessed to have such a noble soul as your daughter..' I stood transfixed & then, I wept. 'My little Angel, you are teaching me how selfless real love is!'

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart. Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said, "Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine. " The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing. The people stared -- how can he say his heart is more beautiful, they thought? The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw its state and laughed. "You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears." "Yes," said the old man, "yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my

heart, but because the pieces aren't exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared. Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of his heart to me. These are the empty gouges -- giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?" The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands. The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart. It fit, But not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges. The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man's heart flowed into his. They embraced and walked away side by side.

I Have Learned That I've Learned... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person. I've Learned... That when you're in love, it shows. I've Learned... That just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day. I've Learned... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I've Learned... That being kind is more important than being right. I've Learned... That you should never say no to a gift from a child. I've Learned... That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way. I've Learned... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with. I've Learned... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand. I've Learned... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult. I've Learned... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes. I've Learned... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for. I've Learned... That money doesn't buy class. I've Learned... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular. I've Learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved. I've Learned... That the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can? I've Learned... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts. I've Learned... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to

hurt you. I've Learned... That love, not time, heals all wounds. I've Learned... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am. I've Learned... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile. I've Learned... That there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks. I've Learned... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them. I've Learned... That life is tough, but I'm tougher. I've Learned... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss. I've Learned... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere. I've Learned... That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her, one more time, before she passed away. I've Learned... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them. I've Learned... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. I've Learned... That I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it. I've Learned... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've Learned... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it. I've Learned... That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life-threatening situation. I've Learned... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen... A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: 'I don't believe that God exists.' 'Why do you say that?' asked the customer. 'Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither

suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.' The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop . Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: 'You know what? Barbers do not exist.' 'How can you say that?' asked the surprised barber. 'I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!' 'No!' the customer exclaimed. 'Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.' 'Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me.' 'Exactly!' affirmed the customer. 'That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!

That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world.'

BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS !!!!!!!

Practice makes a man perfect... - But nobody's perfect...... so why practice? Money is not everything. - There's MasterCard & Visa. One should love animals. - They are so tasty. Save water. - Shower with your girl friend. Love thy neighbour. - But don't get caught.

Behind every successful man, there is a woman - And behind every unsuccessful man, there are two. Every man should marry. - After all, happiness is not the

only thing in life. The wise never marry - And when they marry they become otherwise. Success is a relative term. - It brings so many relatives. Never put off the work till tomorrow what you can put off today. Love is photogenic - It needs darkness to develop Children in backseats cause accidents - Accidents in backseats cause children "Your future depends on your dreams" - So go to sleep There should be a better way to start a day - Than waking up every morning "Hard work never killed anybody" - But why take the risk ! "Work fascinates me" - I can look at it for hours! God made relatives; - Thank God we can choose our friends. When two's company, - three's the result! The more you learn, the more you know, The more you know, the more you forget The more you forget, the less you know - So... Why learn. A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.... what more can I say........

Pick A Positive Thought Most of the things you worry so much about would never happen if they were left alone.

Yet by your persistent focus on them, you greatly increase their likelihood. It is wise to be concerned and to take actions that will address those concerns. Yet it is foolish to simply worry, day after day, until that worry is soon manifest into something real. Each day you fill your mind with thousands of thoughts. Those thoughts have much power because they influence every little thing you do, and those little things quickly add up. So rather than filling your mind with worrisome thoughts, fill it with positive, enthusiastic, loving and life-affirming ones. Then, rather than letting the power of your thoughts push you down, those thoughts will be lifting you up. The next time you find yourself with a worry or anxiety, think of it as a pebble in your hand. Simply let go of it, let it drop naturally, effortlessly to the ground, and continue on your way. Then pick a positive, enriching thought to take its place.

Origins of the Numerals Today's numbers, also called Hindu-Arabic numbers, are a combination of just 10 symbols or digits: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 0. These digits were introduced in Europe within the XII century by Leonardo Pisano (aka Fibonacci), an Italian mathematician. L. Pisano was educated in North Africa, where he learned and later carried to Italy the now popular Hindu-Arabic numerals. Hindu numeral system is a pure place-value system, that is why you need a zero. Only the Hindus, within the context of Ind-European civilizations, have consistently used a zero. The Arabs, however, played an essential part in the dissemination of this numeral system.

Numerals, a time travel from India to Europe The discovery of zero and the place-value system were inventions unique to the Indian civilization. As the Brahmi notation of the first 9 whole numbers... Before adopting the Hindu-Arabic numeral system, people used the Roman figures instead, which actually are a legacy of the Etruscan period. The Roman numeration is based on a biquinary (5) system. To write numbers the Romans used an additive system: V + I + I = VII (7) or C + X + X + I (121), and also a substractive system: IX (I before X = 9), XCIV (X before C = 90 and I before V = 4, 90 + 4 = 94). Latin numerals were used for reckoning until late XVI century!

The graphical origin of the Roman numbers

Other original systems of numeration Other original systems of numeration were being used in the past. The "Notae Elegantissimae" shown below allow to write numbers from 1 to 9999. They are useful as a mnemotechnic aid, e.g. the symbol K may mean 1414 (the first 4 figures of the square root of 2). Chinese and Japanese contributions The Ba-Gua (pron. pah-kwah) trigrams and the Genji-Koh patterns, antique Chinese and Japanese symbols, are strangely enough related to mathematics and electronics. If all the entire lines of the trigrams (___) are replaced with the digit 1 and the broken lines (_ _) with the digit 0, each Ba Gua trigram will represent then a binary number from 0 to 7, and each number is laid in front of its complementary (0<>7, 1<>6, 2<>5, etc...). Write "a", "b", "c", "d" and "e" under the five small red sticks of each Genji-Koh pattern. By doing so, you will have the 52 manners to CONNECT 5 variables in boolean algebraics. The binded sticks form a "conjunction" (AND, .), and the isolated sticks or groups of sticks form a "disjunction" (OR, +). The pattern at the top left represents: [("a" and "d") or ("b" and "e") or "c"]

The business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy. Suddenly an old man appeared before him. "I can see that something is troubling you," he said. After listening to the executive's woes, the old man said, "I believe I can help you." He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, "Take this money. Meet me here exactly

one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time." Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come. The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world! "I can erase my money worries in an instant!" he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought. With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again. Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man. "I'm so glad I caught him!" she cried. "I hope he hasn't been bothering you. He's always escaping from the rest home and telling people he's John D. Rockefeller." And she led the old man away by the arm. The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he'd been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him. Suddenly, he realized that it wasn't the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

Let's face it, not everyone gets along perfectly. To be successful in your work, you at least need the respect and support of others -- your customers, suppliers, co-workers and management. But sometimes, despite your best efforts to win their support, bad habits creep into your daily work life and drive others crazy.

Here are 10 surefire ways to make sure your efforts to win their support don't backfire. If any sound familiar, you could be leaving your co-workers fuming.

1. Is it always all about you? Are you preoccupied with your own career path and looking good at the expense of others? Do you put others down while you pump yourself up? Instead, conduct yourself in such a way that other people will want to see you succeed -- let their genuine support and admiration of who you are pull you to success.

2. Answering cell phone calls during meetings. A surefire way to aggravate people is to consistently respond to calls, e-mails and pagers when in conversation with others. This sends a message that they are less important than the caller. Let the calls go and return them when your current conversation is over. If you are expecting an urgent call, alert those present. They will appreciate that you value their time and that you stay focused on matters at hand.

3. Sending voice mails that go on and on and on. At the end of a voice message, replay it and hear how you sound. Difficulty in getting to the point? Just like giving a speech - state your objective or main message first and follow it with brief, supporting sub-points. Some people prefer voice mail, some e-mail - each workplace has its own expectations.

4. Acting like a bureaucrat. Do you drag out turnaround times and play control games? Do you create obstacles or barriers for others to do their work? Making mountains out of molehills is another surefire way to alienate people. Teach people how to navigate your organization efficiently, knowing when to stick with the rules and when to break them.

5. Reading the newspaper or hammering on your laptop during training sessions or meetings.

Yes, there are way too many meetings and you've got more important things to do. Yet doing non-relevant tasks when there is a set agenda sends a clear message that this event or these people are unimportant to you. Instead, be fully focused - chances are if you completely engage, you will make important contributions while you show you are a committed team player.

6. "I'm like, ya know..." You are your words even more so in virtual relationships. You may be communicating with people worldwide who know you only by the sound of your voice or the tone of your emails. Become conscious of how you use language and stop communicating in ways that cause you to sound inexperienced or unprofessional. Ask those you trust and respect for feedback.

7. Doing your bills at the office. Whether you are paying your bills, planning your wedding, or placing an online order for a special gift, avoid doing them on office time. People understand short personal calls and respect emergencies, but they don't appreciate seeing you get paid to manage your life.

8. Skirting around the dress code. Ask 10 companies to define business casual and you have 10 different definitions. Dressing for work has never been more complicated - especially if you work at multiple locations. Prioritize matching your customer's dress code and if visiting more than one on a given day and the codes conflict, go for a classic, neutral look and be prepared to flex - adding or losing a jacket or tie between locations.

9. Taking it too easy on telecommute days. Run a few errands and throw in a load of laundry? Hey, you're a hard worker and deserve work-life balance. Telecommuting can be a tremendous win-win but if you stretch it to its limits, you may blow the policy for yourself and others. Meet your deadlines, be readily available during business hours and do great work -- skip the temptation to make it appear like you are working but you're really not.

10. Acting unethically. Make sure you are clear on your organization's ethics policies and have the courage and

conviction to uphold them. It's easy to draw the line on major violations but watch for the subtle ways you may be pulling others in the wrong direction to achieve goals -- massaging numbers or data, violating copyright, or providing misleading information. Raise the ethics bar high and hold yourself and others to it.

No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever. ~Francois Muriac~ There are two kinds of people, those who do the work.. and those who take the credit. Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. ~Helen Keller~

Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you.

Encourage me, and I will not forget you. ~William Arthur Ward ~ Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved. ~Unknown~

If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul. ~Unknown~

Lawyers should never ask a Mississippi grandma a question if they aren't prepared for the answer. In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.' The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?' She again replied, ' Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.' The defense attorney nearly died. The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said, 'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair.'

Have you ever wondered about the innocence of childhood? How beautiful things were when we were kids. Looking at world with hope, optimism and curiosity and not with cynicism. Making friends easily. Simplifying things. Life was not at all complicated. So often, I have met people reminiscing about that golden era amidst the quagmire of adult life. Well, I think its never too late actually. We cant replicate those things. We cant go back to that period. But yes, we can always learn from that stage of life. We can always revisit that kindergarten atmosphere. We can still be simple, take great pleasures in small things of life, making friends easily. We can still trust people. The choice is ours.

Life is a thing to be lived fully. As it has been said "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." So one should always strive to fulfill ones capabilities. Lets enjoy this poem and start believing your capabilities

Who I am is unimportant, dont look to heavens above See what has been and what could be with just a little love A world thats full of anger and hate, will eat itself away A world which is loved, with a people that care, will see another day My time with you is over and very soon Ill leave You all must carry on this task, spread love and self-belief

For every heart you touch with love, a hundred more will shine This world will become a true paradise until the end of time

A Baby's Cry And A New Father's Tears...baby's cry and new father's tears love story with sad ending that is sure to make you cry

Tsuki was in severe pain. She had just been wounded in battle 30 minutes before. To make matters worse, she was also pregnant with her husband Hoshi's baby. She screamed out in pain and Hoshi rushed to her side saying, '' Love, what's wrong?!'' The doctor and nurses came in, asking Hoshi to wait outside the tent they were staying in. To Hoshi's dissapointment, this tent was sound-proof, and he wouldn't be able to hear his baby's first cry. Most of all, he wanted to be by his beloved wife's side when she gave birth her very first time. Sound proof or not, the tent door was cracked and he could hear Tsuki's crys of pain and her sobs. Then, all the sudden, all went silent...except for a baby's first cry. The doctor came out saying, '' Mr. Mizuki?'' ''Yes? What's wrong? I can't hear Tsuki anymore, is she okay?!'' Hoshi asked, fear and worry shining true in his voice. ''I'm so sorry, sir. Mrs. Mizuki...Well, come with me,'' he said, obviously very upset. This worried Hoshi more than before. Hoshi walked into the tent and saw Tsuki on a mat on the floor, covered up to her stomach, with their baby in her arms. She was still crying, but she had an oxygen mask on her face, muffleing her sobs, thus why it had gotten quiet a few moments before. Hoshi walked over to her and knelt by her side saying,'' She's beautiful, baby, but are you okay, love?'' She shook her head...No. The doctor came to his side, and said,'' Her wound to her chest cannot be repaired. She...'' He couldn't say the rest. This man had taken care of Tsuki all her life, and even gave Hoshi his blessings when they got mairried. Now, he had delivered her baby, and had to tell himself and Hoshi that she had only a few minutes to live. Hoshi knew what was about to be said, and couldn't help but break down and cry... Tsuki knew now what was wrong, for her beloved husband never cried unless something severely bad was happening, or has happened. She took the oxygen mask off her face, kissed her little baby's head, and said,'' My love...As my very last wish...Please, name her Tsukuyomi, after myself, so she may be blessed with my strength and beauty.'' '' My love, please don't say that, you're not going to die!'' Hoshi yelled, huging her carefully while still in tears. He was too late...The life was gone from her eyes, and she lay limp on her mat with her hand still holding Tsukuyomi to her chest. Tsukuyomi Mizuki...was dead. Hoshi couldn't help but cry harder now. His beloved wife was gone, and now he had to care for their only child on his own. ''Can I do this on my own? Can I raise her right? What should I do? How can I go on without Tsuki?'' So many questions were going through his mind right then, that he'd forgotten about Tsukuyomi in his wife's arms. Picking her up, he said,'' Your

mother died for you, my little angel. Wear her name with pride, for it is her last wish for you to be named after her, so that you may be blessed with her beauty...and strength.'' Kneeling down, holding Tsukuyomi close to him, carefully, he wept in sorrow for his now dead wife. Tsukuyomi had been only 25. Hoshiyomi was 30 at this time...But, years later: ''Daddy! I'm okay! Please don't worry, alright?'' said Tsukuyomi after she'd fallen off her very first bike at the age of 9. She got up and smiled, saying,''I'm not as weak as you thaught I was, am I, daddy? After all, I was blessed with mother's name right?'' Hoshiyomi laughed, and replied,'' Yes, my angel, you're stronger than I thaught you were, just like your mother was.'' Years later, when Tsukuyomi was 25 herself, she had a child named Toki Mizuki. She, herself, had not gone into battle as her mother did, but her husband, sadly, had. He was never heard from again...Saddness was a part of her life, now, as well, just like her father. Her life was never the same....

Do not follow up what you have given to others to afflict them with reminders of your generosity [2/262]. 41. Do not expect a return for your good behaviour, not even thanks [76/9] 42. I was walking around in a Big Bazar store making shopping, when I saw a Cashier talking to a boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll. Then the little boy turned to me and asked: ''Uncle, are you sure I don't have enough money?''

I counted his cash and replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy the doll , my dear.'' The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. 'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much. I wanted to Gift her for her BIRTHDAY.

I have to give the doll to my mummy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.' His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God . Daddy says that Mummy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''

My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mummy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.' Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me 'I want mummy to take my picture with her so my sister won't forget me.' 'I love my mummy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.' Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?'' 'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.

The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!' Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mummy could give It to my sister. He heard me!'' 'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mummy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. My mommy loves white roses.'

I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed forever.

The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

A store owner was tacking a sign above his door that read: "Puppies For Sale". Signs like that have a way of attracting small children and sure enough, a little boy appeared under the store owner's sign. "How much are you going to sell the puppies for?" he asked. The store owner replied, "Anywhere from $30 to $50." The little boy reached in his pocket and pulled out some change. "I have $2.37," he said. "Can I please look at them?" The store owner smiled and whistled and out of the kennel came Lady, who ran out in the aisle of his store followed by five teeny, tiny balls of fur. One puppy was lagging considerably behind. Immediately the little boy singled out the lagging, limping puppy and said, "What's wrong with that little dog?" The store owner explained that the veterinarian had examined the little puppy and had discovered it didn't have a hip socket. It would always be lame. The little boy became excited. "That is the puppy that I want to buy." The store owner said, "No, you don't want to buy that little dog. If you really want him, I'll just give him to you."

The little boy got quite upset. He looked straight into the store owner's eyes, pointing his finger, and said, "I don't want you to give him to me. That little dog is worth every bit as much as all the other dogs and I'll pay full price. In fact, I'll give you $2.37 now, and 50 cents a month until I have him paid for." The store owner countered, "You really don't want to buy this little dog. He is never going to be able to run and jump and play with you like the other puppies." To his surprise, the little boy reached down and rolled up his pant leg to reveal a badly twisted, crippled left leg supported by a big metal brace. He looked up at the store owner and softly replied, "Well, I don't run so well myself, and the little puppy will need someone who understands." Don't we all need someone who understands? ~"Puppies For Sale" by Dan Clark~

A Sad Love Story telling us not to be afraid of expressing our Feelings. I have a boyfriend who grew up with me. His name is Jin. I always thought of him as a frien until last year, when we went to a trip from a club. I found that I fell in love with him. Before tha trip was over, I took a step and confessed my love for him. And soon, we became a pair o lovers, but we loved each other in different ways. I always concentrated on him only, but b his side, there were so many other girls. To me, he was the only one, but to him, maybe I was just another girl Jin, do you want to go watch a movie? I asked.I cant Why? You need to study at home? I felt disappointment grabbing me. No I am going to meet a friend He was always like that. He met girls in front of me, like it was nothing. To him, I was just a girlfriend. The word love only came out from my mouth. Since I knew him, I had never heard him say I love you before. To us, there werent any anniversaries at all. He didnt say anything from the first day and it continued till 100 days200days Everyday, before we say goodbye, he would just hand me a doll, everyday, without fail. I dont know why Then one day Me: Um, Jin, I Jin: Whatdont drag, just say.. Me: I love you. Jin: you.um, just take this doll and go home.

That was how he ignored my three words and handed me the doll. Then he disappeared, like he was running away. The dolls I received from him everyday, filled my room, one by one. There were many Then one day came, my 15th year old birthday. When I got up in the morning, I pictured a party with him, and stranded myself in my room, waiting for his call. But lunch passed, dinner passed and soon the sky was dark he still didnt call. It was already tiring to look at the phone anymore. Then around 2am in the morning, he suddenly called me and woke me from my sleep. He told me to come out of the house. Still, I felt joy and I ran out happily. Me: Jin Jin: Heretake this Again, he handed me a little doll. Me: Whats this? Jin: I didnt give it to you yesterday, so I am giving it to you now. Im going home now, bye. Me: Wait, wait! Do you know what today is? Jin: Today? Huh? I felt so sad, I thought he would remember my birthday. He turned around and walked away like nothing had happen. Then I shouted Wait Jin: You have something to say? Me: Tell me, tell me you love me Jin: What?! Me: Tell me I put my pathetic self behind and clung on to him. But he just said simple cold words and left. I dont want to saythat I love someone so easily, if you are desperate to hear it, then find someone else. That was what he said. Then he ran off. My legs felt numb and I collapsed to the ground. He didnt want to say it easily How could he. I felt that Maybe he is not the right guy for me After that day, I stranded myself at home crying, just crying. He didnt call me, although I was waiting. He just continued handing me a little doll every morning outside my house. Thats how those dolls piled up in my room everyday After a month, I got myself together and went to school. But what made the pain resurface was that I saw him on a street with another girl He had a smile on his face, one that he never showed meas he touched the doll I ran straight back home and looked at the dolls in my room, and tears fell Why did he gave these to me Those dolls are probably picked out by some other girlsIn a fit of anger, I threw the dolls around. Then suddenly, the phone rang. It was him. He told me to come out to the bus stop outside my house. I tried to calm myself down and walked to the bus stop. I kept reminding myself that I am going to forget him, that its going to end. Then he came into my sight, holding a big doll. Jin: Jo, I thought you were pissed, you really came? I couldnt help hating him, acting like nothing had happen and joking around. Soon, he held out the doll as usual

Me: I dont need it. Jin: What.why I grabbed the doll from his hands and threw it on the road. Me: I dont need this doll, I dont need it anymore!! I dont want to see a person like you again! I spitted out all the words that were inside me. But unlike other days, his eyes very shaking. Im sorry He apologized in a tiny voice. He then walked over to the road to pick up the doll Me: You stupid! Why are you picking up the doll?! Just throw it away!!! But he ignored me and just went to pick the doll. Then Honk~ Honk~ With a loud honk, a big truck was heading towards him. Jin! Move! Move away! I shouted But he didnt hear me, he squatted down and picked up the doll. Jin, move! HONK~!! Boom! That sound, so terrifying. Thats how he went away from me. Thats how he went away without even opening his eyes to say one word to me. After that day, I had to go through everyday with guiltiness and the sadness of losing him And after spending two months like a crazy person I took out the dolls. Those were the only gifts he left me since the day we started going out. I remembered the days I spent with him and started to count the days when we were in love Onetwo three That was how I started to count the dolls Four hundred and eighty four four hundred and eighty five It all ended with 485 dolls. I then started to cry again, with a doll in my arms. I hugged it tightly, then suddenly I love you~, I love you~ I dropped the dolls, shocked. I.lo..veyou?? I picked up the dolls and pressed its stomach. I love you~ I love you~ It cant be! I pressed all the dolls stomach as it piled on the side. I love you~ I love you~ I love you~ Those words came out non-stop. Ilove you Why didnt I realize that. That his heart was always by my side, protecting me. Why didnt I realize that he love me this much I took out the doll under the bed and pressed its stomach, that was the last doll, the one that fell on the road. It had his blood stain on it. The voice came out, the on that I was missing so much. JoDo you know what today is? Weve been loving each other for 486 days. Do you know what 486 is? I couldnt say I love you. Um since I was too shy If you forgive me and take this doll, I will say that I love you everyday till I die Jo I love you

The tears came flowing out of me. Why? Why? I asked god, why do I only know about all this now? He cant be by my side, but he loved me until his last minute For that and for that reason to me it became courage to live a beautiful life.

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?" He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it" If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you. Pass this on right now. This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them. And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end. *"Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once." *

secret of happy married life Once X asked Y, "What is the secret behind your happy married life?" Y said, "You should share responsibilities with due love and respect

to each other. Then absolutely there will be no problems." X asked, "Can you explain?" Y said, "In my house, I take decisions on bigger issues where as my wife decides on smaller issues. We do not interfere in each other's decisions." Still not convinced, X asked Y "Give me some examples" Y said," Smaller issues like which car we should buy, how much amount to save, when to visit home town, which Sofa, air conditioner, refrigerator to buy, monthly expenses, whether to keep a maid or not etc are decided by my wife. I just agree to it" X asked, "Then what is your role?" Y said," My decisions are only for very big issues. Like whether America should attack Iran, whether Britain should lift sanction over Zimbabwe, whether to widen African economy, whether Sachin Tendulkar should retire etc etc. Do you know one thing, my wife NEVER objects to any of these".secret of happy married life Once X asked Y, "What is the secret behind your happy married life?" Jack and Max are walking from religious service. Jack wonders whether it would be all right to smoke while praying. Max replies, "Why don't you ask the Priest?" So Jack goes up to the Priest and asks, "Priest, may I smoke while I pray?" But the Priest says, "No, my son, you may not. That's utter disrespect to our religion." Jack goes back to his friend and tells him what the good Priest told him. Max says, "I'm not surprised. You asked the wrong question. Let me try." And so Max goes up to the Priest and asks, "Priest, may I pray while I smoke?" To which the Priest eagerly replies, "By all means, my son...by all means." Moral of the story: The reply you get depends on the question you ask.
