GOAL !

Put a balloon on the floor, the blindfolded player who is taking the penalty
stands about 6-7 steps away from the balloon. Spin the player round 3 times
before they kick the balloon towards the goalie. It's fun when the player
having made those 6-7 steps kicks the air, because he went in the wrong
direction. The winner is the player who kicks the balloon.

This is a stunt or game. As a party stunt ask for 3-6 enthusiastic volunteers to play a game. Then let
them know that all they have to do is see how many socks they can put on within a certain amount of
time.
The Catch: They are blindfolded and have gloves on. (Oops forgot to tell them that.)

How to play: Seat participants around pile of socks on floor, give them mismatched gloves and
blindfold them. On go, they begin putting as many socks on one foot as possible until the time is
called.

The amount of time is up to the Game host, but 2 – 4 minutes should work just fine. You can play this
one person at a time or have 2 or 3 competing together at the same time.
Winner: The person with the most socks on one foot after the time is called.

Song Scramble
Each guest is given a line from a song.

To make it easier, lines from the same song could be identified with the same
number, color of paper or ink, etc.

The guests then scramble around, trying to find the right people to complete their
song. When they find everyone, they must render their song.

You can motivate the groups by awarding a prize for the first or last group to
complete their song.

Guess the Movie Game: Before the party, jot down the names of several well-known movies
on slips of paper, and put these in a bowl. Tell the party attendees to pair up, and then select
one pair to be the first actors. They must pick a slip from the bowl and enact a scene from the
movie written on it. The others must guess which the movie is. The first person that guesses
correctly will become the next actor along with his/her partner. The game can be continued
until every pair has had a chance to become actors.

Famous Movie One Liners: Before the party, write down famous bits of quotes from well-
known movies, e.g. "I'll be back." – Terminator, "Would you be shocked if I put on something
more comfortable?" – Hell's Angels. Then, during the party, read out these quotes one at a
time, with the guests having to guess which movie it is from. Whoever guesses right gets a
point. After every quote has been done with, whoever has the most points becomes the
winner. To make it more challenging, extra points can be given if they can name the character,
actor or actress who said it.

Question Hour
The objective of this game is to ask questions and answer back in the form of a question. Anyone who
answers in the form of a statement or answers with a Yes / No or takes too much time in asking a
question back is considered out of the game. It is a fun game that can turn hilarious at times.

Games for your Corporate Office Lunch Parties

You’re in a conference room that lacks character and windows. You’re surrounded by your group of
colleagues and long table of random potluck dishes and paper plates. You do these things to celebrate
co-workers’ life milestones. Baby showers, birthdays, going-away parties, wedding showers, welcome
back parties. Whatever the event, there is definitely a way to liven the spirit of your work day!

Here are some game ideas that are sure to be a hit in your work place! Take on the role of ‘office party
planner.’ You will gain the respect of your co-workers for being organized and inventive, and all your
hard work will pay off when the whole room is rolling with laughter!

Going-Away Party Game idea:

If the event is focused on celebrating for one person - make a quiz to see how much your co-workers
know him/her. I’ve used this at a Bon Voyage lunch party:

Office Family Feud

1. Send your coworkers an email with 15 questions that you think the group will give similar answers to.
Here is an example of questions to ask:
1. What is your favorite restaurant?
2. Favorite type of music?
3. Favorite Christmas song?
4. Favorite Shampoo?
5. Favorite hobby?
6. Favorite celebrity?
7. Favorite place to shop (specific store name)?
8. What is the color of your toothbrush?
9. What time do you get up for work in the morning?
10. What do you like to do on the weekends?
11. What college did you attend?
12. Name your favorite kind of pie:
13. Name your favorite breakfast cereal:
14. How do you like your steak?
15. How fast do you drive when the speed limit is 65?

Collect everyone’s answers and tally to find the top two to five in order of popularity. Set up the
questions in a Family-feud style on note cards. Saying “20 Marketing Employees were asked - top three
answers are on the board.”

Break your group into an even number of teams with four to ten people on each team. Place chairs
facing each other in two rows. The first person in the row of each team comes to the front. These two
people face each other across the table that has a tennis ball or other small soft object on it.

A whiteboard or chalkboard should be where everyone can see it, with the numbers one through three
or six on it (this is the number of top answers you have on your list).

Now ask the first question (for example, “Name the top four favorite restaurants”). The first person to
grab the ball gets a chance to answer the question. (If someone grabs the ball early, stop reading the
question and make him/her give you an answer before reading anymore.) If the person with the ball
gives an answer that is on your list, write it besides the corresponding number. If this person has not
guessed the number-one answer, the other player gets a turn to guess. The person who guesses the
highest answer on the list gets to choose whether his/her team will play or pass.

After this, each team gets three strikes (wrong answers). The team that is playing gets the chance to
guess the remaining answers on the board. Give each person a turn with fifteen seconds to answer.
Once the playing team gets three strikes, the other team decides as a group what one answer they want
to give to try to fill in one of the remaining blanks.

If the first team fills in all the blanks they win the round, but if the opposing team guesses one of the
remaining answers, they win the round. Keep track of each team’s points on the board. As you get
further in the game, you can double or triple the points.

Fun Party Games

Dumb Charades
Perhaps the most common party game of all is the dumb charades. This one game can be played at just
about any party. Your game can be based on any theme. It could be Hollywood movies, famous
celebrities, famous quotes or animals, in case you have tiny toddlers as your guests.

Guess the Tune

This is a very popular game that is played in parties. Form a group and ask each person to get up and
hum a tune. The one who gets it right the fastest gets a small prize. The next song has to be hummed
by that winner and everyone else gets the chance to guess it.

Question Hour
This is yet another popular game that is played at parties. Everyone sits around in a circle and any one
person asks a question to the participant sitting on his/her left side. You can play this game clockwise or
anti-clockwise. The person to whom a question has been asked has to respond by asking another
question to the next person and the game goes on. A person is declared out if he/she: responds to the
question, starts laughing, repeats the question or goes blank for more than 8 seconds.

Board / Card Games

If you are having just close friends or a limited number of people in your party, the best way to pass time
is by playing those ever-amusing board games, like Scrabble and Monopoly. They are fun and one can
pass hours by playing these games. Even cards are a great option, provided your guests know how to
play different card games.

Spelling Bee
This is another one of the games that can be played at almost any party. One of the players becomes
the question master and asks the players to spell a series of words. The moments a person misspells,
he/she is out of the game. The player who is left not-out till the last is declared the winner.

2) Scattegories

You do not really need the board game to play this game as you do it on paper. The only difference with playing
this game on paper is that you’re categories are limited and games can be time consuming.

On Paper
Write down four categories :

ie. Movies, Songs, Countries, Actors, Foods

Draw a letter, then everyone thinks of something that starts with that letter and when they are done, they are to call
stop and everyone has to stop and put their pencil down. Receive 10 Points for Original Answers and 5 Points for
Similar Answers.

Create a list of Wine / Champagne facts and trivia and then after dinner or during your next wine party
bring out your list of trivia and challenge them to see among you is a true wine connoisseur.

Depending on the number of questions 15 – 20 is good give your guests 5 to 10 minutes to answer.
Then have guests switch sheets to score.

Then question by question – read the question get general comments / prospective answers and
reveal the correct answer.

The guest with the most correct answers wins a wine related gift.

FAMOUS NAME
Objective: An icebreaker where you act like famous people and guess who they are.
Game Active. A lot of movement may be required.
Type: �
Players: � 6 or more players
Needed: Paper and pencils
Rules: Each player picks the name of a famous person and writes it down. Once
you've chosen you cannot change! (Homer Simpson, Mae West, Abraham
Lincoln, Caesar Augustus etc.) Mix up the names and hand them out to
everyone in the room. Have everyone mingle and chat while acting like their
character or better yet, have each person do 30 second of dialogue in the guise
of the person they chose. The others guess who he/she is.
Objective: Act out the name of a book, song, movie etc for your team, but no talking
allowed!
Game Active. A lot of movement may be required.
Type: �
Players: � 2 or more players
Needed: Paper and pencil
Rules: Divide your group into two teams. 3 or more people is best. Next, determine
how long you want each round to be. Most groups will use no more than 5
minutes per round. Have each team huddle and brainstorm the names of
wedding movies. A list of movies is included below. The papers from one team
will be used by the other and visa versa so don't mix them. Put each group into
a separate hat or bowl. Choose a team to go first and then choose a person on
that team to go first.

The first person chooses a paper from the bowl (make sure it's the bowl from
the other team) and memorize what it says. Also they should note whether it's a
book, movie, song etc. and if they don't know they should ask someone on the
other team and be whispered the answer. The timer then starts and they have
to act out what's on the paper without talking. See below for appropriate
gestures. When the timer runs out it's the other teams turn. They then draw a
paper from the appropriate bowl and act it out. Turns should alternate back and
forth with a new person doing the acting each time. Whoever guess the most
within the time limit wins the game.

What's not allowed. No spelling of words. No mouthing answers or words. No

pointing to objects in the room.

Book title:

Put your hands together as if you are praying, then unfold them flat.

Film title:

Form an imaginary lens with one hand while cranking the other hand as if you
are operating an old movie camera.

TV show:
 Making a box with your hands.

Quotation:

Make quotation marks in the air with your fingers.

Sound like:

To indicate the word sounds like another similar word, pull on your ear or cup
your ear.

Number of words in the title:

Hold up number of fingers.

Specific word:

Again hold up the number of fingers - for example for "Gone with the Wind" you
would hold up 4 fingers for four words and then prior to acting out "wind" you
would hold up 4 fingers again to indicate 4th word.

Syllables:

Hold a specific number of fingers against your arm for a given word.

Short word:

Pinch your thumb and forefinger together.

Long word:

Open your fingers to indicate a long word.

Correct guess:

Give a thumbs up and point to the correct guesser.

Getting hotter:

Wave your hand like a fan.

Getting colder:

Cross your arms and shiver.

Other signals are allowed if agreed upon before the game.

Rules: Give each guest an index card and tell them to list a household item that they
would love to get rid of. Then, have them list five reasons why they would get
rid of it. After everyone is done writing, say, "OK�that household item that you
have written down, I want you to cross it out and replace it with your husband
or boyfriend's name." When they say the sentence they must say: I want to
replace (name of husband/boyfriend) because he is....................... and list their
reasons.

It's a hoot of a game and everyone loves it. The one that has the most
outlandish answers wins.
TRICKY ANSWER
Objective: A fast paced question and answer game where you are out if you answer the
questions correctly!
Game Passive. Little or no movement is required.
Type: �
Players: � 6 or more players
Needed: None
Setup: Gather the group in the circle. Put the leader in the middle. The leader will ask
questions to the group and they must answer each question incorrectly. The
questions (see below) are so obvious that is hard not to answer correctly.

Timing: Each person should respond within 1 to 2 seconds. The group can act as judge
to determine if a person took too long to respond.
Winning: You can get out one of two ways:

1. Take too long to answer

2. Stumble as you answer
3. Give the correct answer (as opposed to the incorrect answer which is what
you want to do)
