Calyx and Corolla (Group Assignment)

This is a group assignment and it is due at the start of the Session 8,


June 28th 2008. After analyzing the case, please answer the following
questions. Before you start the case analysis you can also. Your
submission should be not more than 3 pages, in 12 pt. font
with standard margins. You may also include one page of appendix
or exhibits detailing your calculations or analysis if necessary. Any
appendix material must be suitably called for in the main text. You will
get credit for being succinct and to the point in your answers.

1. What are the factors relating to the distribution channels and the
market structure in the flower industry that makes the Calyx &
Corolla’s business model viable?

2. Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of C&C versus a


conventional retailer? Conduct a segmentation analysis to
evaluate what market segments C&C is most suited to take
advantage of?

3. If you were managing this business recommend two marketing


strategies that you would use to develop the potential of the C&C
business model?
