Now, if you ask the average Muslim where these ‘Jinn’ are, he/she will tell
you that they are ‘invisible’ beings who dwell amongst us, they may be found
in dark places or toilets or abandoned homes, they see what we do, and they
are able to whisper thoughts into our minds or even possess some of us!.
What this article will attempt to do is to ‘uncover’ the truth behind the ‘Jinn’
and there coexistence with the humans using the Quran as our guide…
This is the first question that we must ask before trying to understand this
issue:
“As for the Jinns, We created them before that, from the fire of a scorching
wind." (15:27)
The above two verses are explicit that ‘Jinn’ are a creation that existed
BEFORE mankind and were made out of the fires or heat that existed (in
opposition to mankind who were created from mud/clay).
However, just as we do not melt when we come into contact with water
(being made from mud/clay), it is important to recognize that some
descriptions given in the Quran are ‘allegoric’ and it is their representations
that we should seek…
One allegoric meaning that could be derived is that the ‘Jinn’ were created
during the time of Earth’s infancy, at a time when heat and volcanic fire were
the elements under development…while humans emerged from a ‘wetter’
climate when clay/mud were the elements taking shape.
The simple observations we can draw are as follows:
Similarly to the purpose that humans have been created, so too were the
Jinn originally designed:
“I did not create the Jinns and the humans except to serve Me." (51:56)
GOD had chosen the Jinn to establish His system and carry-out His
will…These were the most ‘intelligent’ creatures at the time and GOD’s will
was that they uphold whatever instructions/responsibilities are given to
them.
As a result of such ‘service’, GOD had decreed that the Jinn would be
rewarded or punished for their service (by being admitted to heaven, or
being sentenced to hell – physical or allegoric).
“He will say, "Enter with the previous communities of Jinns and humans into
Hell." Every time a group enters, they will curse their ancestral group. Once
they are all in it, the latest one will say of the previous one, "Our Lord, these
are the ones who misled us. Give them double the retribution of Hell." He will
say, "Each receives double, but you do not know." (7:38)
The Jinn were also at the level of receiving messengers and messages from
GOD through their own people…
“O you jinns and humans, did you not receive messengers from among you,
who narrated to you My revelations, and warned you about the meeting of
this day? They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves." They were
totally preoccupied with the worldly life, and they will bear witness against
themselves that they were disbelieves." (6:130)
“We have committed to Hell multitudes of Jinns and humans. They have
minds with which they do not understand, eyes with which they do not see,
and ears with which they do not hear. They are like animals; no, they are far
worse-they are totally unaware." (7:179)
The above verse may be argued ‘allegoric’, however if the subject of Jinns
having a ‘mind, ears, and eyes’ is allegoric, then the same would have to be
said for the humans mentioned in the same verse.
“Say, "If all the humans and all the Jinns banded together in order to
produce a Quran like this, they could never produce anything " (17:88)
Again, we see a ‘physical' description being given to the Jinn and humans
together (producing a Quran).
"And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but
the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his
Judgment-Seat)! (37:158)
Why would the disbelievers claim that the prophet had a ‘blood-relation’
(Nas’ab) with the Jinn?. Is this not a physical attribute!.
“Those who disbelieved will say, "Our Lord, show us those among the two
kinds-jinns and humans-who misled us, so we can trample them under our
feet, and render them the lowliest." (41:29)
Would you be able to ‘see’ a ghost?. Would you be able to ‘trample’ it with
your feet?.
“O you jinns and humans, if you can penetrate the limits of the heavens and
the earth, go ahead and penetrate. You cannot penetrate without
authorization." (55:33)
“The day will come when He summons all of them (and says): "O you jinns,
you have claimed multitudes of humans." Their human companions will say,
"Our Lord, we enjoyed each others' company until we wasted the life span
You had set for us." He will say, "Hell is your destiny." They abide therein
forever, in accordance with GOD's will. Your Lord is Wise, Omniscient."
(6:128)
“They will answer, "Be You glorified. You are our Lord and Master, not them.
Instead, they were serving the Jinns; most of them were believers therein."
(34:41)
Do people serve ghosts, or living breathing beings?.
“Therein are fruits, whom neither man nor Jinn will have touched before
them. ." (55:56)
Why does GOD tell us that these physical attributes in heaven are
‘untouched’ by MAN or JINN?. Are ghosts capable of physical touch?.
“O you jinns and humans, did you not receive messengers from among you,
who narrated to you My revelations, and warned you about the meeting of
this day? They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves." They were
totally preoccupied with the worldly life, and they will bear witness against
themselves that they were disbelievers." (6:130)
From the above verses, and from others that will follow, it appears that the
Jinn are PHYSICAL beings who have eyes, ears, a mind…they are in
communication with the humans, they are even served and in collaboration
with humans!.
If the Jinn are indeed ‘Physical’ creatures as we are alluding to in this article,
then the obvious question is ‘where are they?’.
If members of the Jinn race were present at a reciting of the Quran, and if
these are ‘physical’ beings as we have been pointing out…then the
conclusions become very CLEAR:
The prophet was unable to know that the Jinn were listening to the Quranic
recitation except through ‘inspiration’ from GOD in the verses above!.
The Jinn even made claim that they are aware of the Book of Moses and its
teachings (a book with physical laws for physical people).
Here is the longer version of the same story again with more clues:
“Say, "I was inspired that a group of jinns listened, then said, `We have
heard a wonderful Quran. " `It guides to righteousness, and we have
believed in it; we will never set up any idols beside our Lord. " `The Most
High is our only Lord. He never had a mate, nor a son. " `It is the foolish
among us who used to utter such nonsense about GOD." `We thought that
neither the humans, nor the jinns, could possibly utter lies about GOD. "
`Human men used to seek power through Jinn men, but they only afflicted
them with a lot of adversity." `They thought, just like you thought, that GOD
would not send another (messenger). `We touched the heaven and found it
filled with formidable guards and projectiles. " `We used to sit there in
positions to listen. Anyone who listens NOW is pursued by a powerful
projectile. " `We have no idea if something bad is intended for the
inhabitants of Earth, or if their Lord wills to redeem them. " `Some of us are
righteous, and some are less than righteous; we follow various paths. " `We
knew full well that we can never run away from GOD on Earth; we can never
run away and escape. " `When we heard the guidance, we believed therein.
Anyone who believes in his Lord will never fear any injustice, nor any
affliction. " `Among us are the submitters, and among us are the
compromisers.' "As for those who submitted, they are on the right path. As
for the compromisers, they will be fuel for Hell. If they remain on the right
path, we will bless them with abundant water. We will surely test them all. As
for him who disregards the message of his Lord, He will direct him to ever
increasing retribution.( 72:1-17)
The clues which can be gleaned from the above passages are as follows:
1. Jinn could not be identified from humans when they listened to the Quran;
3. Jinn do not know any more than humans do (what is true or false);
5. Jinn have the ability (or technology?) to travel outside our known universe
(logically due to their race being much older that ours);
6. Jinn have been BLOCKED from reaching certain points in space that they
used to travel through before (this could be a 'mental' block on astral if not
physical travel);
7. Jinn have believers amongst them, as well as rejecters (good & bad).
8. Jinn confirm they are ‘physical’ due to the identification with ‘fuel’ for hell.
In the story of Solomon, we are able to again identify major characteristics of
the Jinn:
“Mobilized in the service of Solomon were his obedient soldiers of Jinns and
humans, as well as the birds; all at his disposal." (27:17)
“One audacious from the Jinn said, "I can bring it to you (the throne of
Sheba) before you stand up. I am powerful and am to be trusted to do this."
(27:39)
“To Solomon we committed the wind at his disposal, traveling one month
coming and one month going. And we caused a spring of oil to gush out for
him. Also, the Jinns worked for him, by his Lord's leave. Any one of them
who disregarded our commands, we subjected him to a severe retribution.
They made for him anything he wanted-niches, statues, deep pools, and
heavy cooking pots. O family of David, work (righteousness) to show your
appreciation. Only a few of My servants are appreciative. When the
appointed time for his death came, they had no clue that he had died. Not
until one of the animals tried to eat his staff, and he fell down, did the Jinns
realized that he was dead. They thus realized that had they known the
unseen, they would have stopped working so hard as soon as he died.
(34:12-14)
Although the above information may sound very puzzling at this stage…what
would be more feasible: ‘Ghosts living and talking with mankind’, OR ‘an
older race which has been able to live, work, and die amongst our species?’.
It is plausible to say that the many recorded writings of people who believe
they saw aliens, or demons, or any other manifestation of creatures other
than humans and animals may very well have observed a Jinn in its true and
unhidden form.
Conclusion.
The Jinn are an older species who no longer have control of this planet, but
some of whom (such as Satan) may still have a burning hatred for our
species and are seeking our destruction...
These beings are keeping themselves 'hidden' from our eyes by chameleon
like abilities and perhaps an ability to hide their nature by transcending
realities/dimensions or being underground...
Finally, please remember there are Jinn who are on our side and have been
fighting their own brethren for the path of GOD…
" `Some of us are righteous, and some are less than righteous; we follow
various paths. " (Sura 72)
We must be clear that this is not a fight about RACE, but it is a fight between
GOOD & EVIL.
