Welcome to Year 3, I hope you all had a good summer break! We have had a very good first week back. The class have settled brilliantly into the junior side of the school and are learning all the new routines. In Maths this term we will be focusing on counting, partitioning and calculating using a variety of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division strategies. Another main Maths focus will be times-tables. By the end of Year 3 children are expected to know multiplication facts for the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10 times-tables. If your child is already confident with these tables they can begin recalling the corresponding division facts. Please encourage your child to regularly practise tables at home as this will really support their learning in class for the year ahead. In Literacy we will begin with learning about report writing and it will be linked to our creative curriculum topic which is called ‘What in the world is going on?’ The information below will tell you a little bit more about it. I will be happy to speak to you at the end of the school day if you have any questions or concerns about anything or email me using the address: jparks@immanuelschoollambeth.org.uk Kind regards, Jaynean Parks
