Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world Nelson Mandela
Join us in Cambridge this summer to prepare for university entry and study. The Cambridge Summer School is the perfect summer course for ambitious young people who want to experience life as a University of Cambridge student while giving themselves a head start in the next stage of their education. The course will be hosted at Gonville & Caius college; one of the oldest colleges at the University of Cambridge. Students on the course will be tutored by world-class academics that have taught undergraduates at Oxford, Cambridge or the London School of Economics; we have small teaching groups so that every student receives individual attention and detailed feedback on their work. Meal times are central to the Oxford and Cambridge lifestyle, providing a forum to seed many exciting academic discussions. In light of this we provide three meals each day for attendees, students dine together with staff giving them the opportunity to expand on academic conversations outside of formal teaching sessions. High school education differs from university level learning in many ways, at The Cambridge Summer School we do our utmost to prepare attendees for this transition, ensuring they have the requisite skills in place to succeed at University. For attendees that are not yet sure what they want to study, it is an excellent opportunity to try out a subject before committing to a longer course. For those that have not yet applied to university, we have a number of workshops in place to help prepare for the highly competitive application process. Applicants to The Cambridge Summer School need to have lots of energy and dedication to their studies. In order to make the most of the time we have together we ask students to complete some reading prior to the commencement of the course; we have a busy schedule prepared with an academically intense programme. Our academic sessions take the form of supervisions (called tutorials in Oxford) which are unique to the Oxford and Cambridge teaching style. In addition to the academic development we have sports sessions, skill workshops, activities and exciting excursions, including a tour of Cambridge, punting on the river and a Shakespearean performance. For those that want to see more of the UK they can choose the Extended Course where we will visit historic places in the South of England such as Oxford and London.

The academic tutors will take their students through an Oxbridge style interview. If by the end of the week any of our students decided the subject might not suit them at degree level the academic tutors and professional education consultants will happily give the student advice on which degree course might suit them better.
