Conference 5 The description of speech Lexical and phonological system 1-Whats are the main features of pronunciation?

Pronemes and suprasegmental 2-What do we mean by voiced and voiceless sounds Voiced sounds make the vocal cords vibrate and voiceless sounds do not 3-How the sounds are produced in the voice box? there are two flaps of elastic, connective tissue known as vocal cords, which can open and close. 4-What are the most importants features of sounds in English? Stress and intonation 5- What is the difference between phonetics and phonology? Phonology is the study of how the sounds are produced, used and distinguished in a specific language Phonetics is the study of how speech sounds and its production in general My reflection in this lesson is that i saw when i sang in the choir, the teacher told me about the different positions to make different sounds, and how the air flow to the troath passing for the vocal cords producing the vibration

Conference # 6 Consonants Lexical and phonological system 1-What conclusion did you conclude for consonants? Are sounds amde by the obstruction of the air in some physical way either singly or in clusters marking the beginning or the end of syllables. 2- How can we classify them? fricative, africate, nasal, lateral and approximant 3-What is the main difference between vowels and consonants? If the air is allowed to pass is a vowel but if the air is blocked is a consonant 4- What are the organs in speech? Tongue, lips, hard and soft palate, teeth vocal cords etc 5-Why is voicing important in a language? Its very important because if you do not voice certain sounds there could be a missundertanstanding, eg big and pig has very different meanings and if you do not articulate well they wont know what you really want to say. I can conclude that the important of voicing correctly is high because doing it wrong will lead to problems in communication, in myself for example i have problems pronouncing "R" sounds, so i have to do something to improve it. Conference 7 vowels Lexical and phonological system 1-How vowel sounds are produced? Air scape relatively in a unimpeded way through the nose and mouth 2-How do vowels differ from consonants? There is no noticeable obstruction in the vocal tract during the production 3-What features make vowels different in English language? The thing that in English we have 6 sound because "Y" is considered a vowel. I can conclude this lesson with the feeling of have learned interesting things i did knew deeply, this will be useful as English teacher having more about vowels, consonants and how do we produce sounds.
