Daily Checks & 'hat to Look for

All Trucks Faults Pre#ious Day. Check the previous page ,or book-. 'his +ill identi*y +hat %ay have been +rong the previous day or shi*t. /ou should check these ite%s care*ully to ensure that the *ault has been recti*ied. O$#ious Leaks. Check the *loor0 beside and under the truck. (y%raulic Flui% Le#el. Check the level in the reservoir. )ast a"% Carria!e. 1isually check *or any da%age or *oreign ite%s. Check also *or appropriate lubrication. Chai"s a"% Fi*i"! Bolts. 1isually check *or da%aged links0 obvious stretching and appropriate lubrication. 1isually check the *i ing bolts *or any sign o* da%age. Forks. 1isually check *or any sign o* cracks0 especially at the heels0 or any other sign o* da%age or e cess +ear. Check securing pins. Backrest/E*te"sio". 1isually check *or da%age or debris. !ent or other+ise da%aged %etal is +eakened and %ay be dangerous. Attach+e"ts. Check *or the actual security o* the attach%ent0 at its *i ing or locking points0 and check any hydraulic or other connections. So%e attach%ents %ay need additional checks. Only check and use attach%ents i* you have been trained to do so. Tyres/'heels/,uts. Check all tyres *or obvious da%age0 including cuts and tread +ear. Check pneu%atic tyres *or the correct pressure. Check +heels *or da%age0 especially to the ri%s0 and check that +heel nuts are tight. eat a"% eat Belt. Check that the seat is correctly *i ed to the truck and not loose or da%aged. Ensure the battery area is clean and clear *ro% debris. Battery ecurity. Ensure the batteries are secure +ithin their co%part%ent and that any protective hatches are properly closed.
