DATE AGE LIMIT : Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories should not be more than 185 3 years (i) For Male 25 years and those belonging to SC & ST categories should not be more than Cadets st (Full time residential 30 years as on 1 October. One Year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) Leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science) Admission through IMU CET Educational Qualification: 1. Pass in 10+2 examination from a recognized Board / University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 55% aggregate marks in PCM. OR With Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B.Sc., with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B.Sc., from a recognized University provided that the candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognised Board. OR B.E./B. Tech. or its equivalent degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC. AND 2. Should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree programme conducted by a recognized Board University. Age Limit: Not more than 25 years. The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Physical and Medical Standards: Medically fit as per the standards set by Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Rules, 2000 as amended from time to time. Eye sight: 6/6 in each eye without visual aids. Normal colour vision. Candidates will have to undergo a full eyesight test conducted by the Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) before being finally selected for the programme. Course fees to be paid by demand draft in favour of Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus from Nationalised Bank. Fees structure is as per IMU instruction. The proposed fee also applicable to the Foreign Nationals. Discount scheme for package deal & block booking as well as the hostel facilities are available for the students attending the courses. Coupons for meals will be provided to the candidates attending the following courses only. a) Master / Chief Engineer Upgrdation & Revalidation Courses. b) SSO, CSO, PFSO & ISPS Training the Trainer Auditors Course. c) MEO Class IV (Part B). If any holiday notification comes without notice, course will start on following working day. Booking is also confirmed via e-mail. One slots of 27th Feb 2012 to 3rd march 2012 (6 days) allotted for MERI to familiarise on ROC, ARPA, RANSCO & LCHS courses. Two slots of 29th Oct 2012 to 2nd Nov 2012 & 26th Nov 2012 to 30th Nov 2012 are allotted for T.S. Chanakya to familiarise on ERS, RANSCO, LCHS & PSCRB courses.
