    Possessive adjectives and pronouns are used to show possession or ownership. Possessive adjectives like "my", "your", "his", "her", "its", "our", and "their" are used before nouns. Possessive pronouns like "mine", "yours", "his", "hers", "its", "ours", and "theirs" are used after nouns. For singular nouns, add an apostrophe + "s" (e.g. "John's skates"). For plural nouns ending in "s", just add an apostrophe (e.g. "the boys' bikes").
