Job Description: Summer School EFL Teacher

Select English have been running a successful summer school programme for almost twenty years offering residential and non-residential courses for children, teenagers and adults. We are an independent, family-run school and take pride in our friendly, supportive and professional approach to teaching and learning. Essential: Teachers must have a minimum of a CELTA, Trinity CTESOL or equivalent plus a first degree and be eligible to work in the UK Flexibility, ability to work as part of a team Willingness to actively participate in the sports and social programme and pastoral duties on residential courses Commitment to continuing professional development Desirable: Previous teaching experience Previous summer school experience DELTA or Trinity Diploma in TESOL and / or MA / MSc in TEFL or TESOL Experience working with young people (sports coaching, youth groups etc.) Duties: Plan, prepare and teach motivating and enjoyable lessons based on the school syllabus which meet learner needs and expectations and which reflect the age, level and interests of students Actively participate in the sports and social programme; supervising and participating in activities in the afternoons, evenings and at weekends On residential courses, teachers have additional pastoral duties including supervising meal times and bed times Complete registers for every class and a weekly plan each week Write reports for students when required Attend daily teacher meetings Benefits: Competitive rates of pay see summer school teaching positions for further details Accommodation and meals provided on residential courses; self-catering accommodation in shared houses can be arranged for teachers on non-residential courses Teacher development programme including regular training workshops, peer observations and support with lesson planning Opportunities for career progression within the summer school; many of our current summer school management team began as teachers at Select To apply: Send a completed application form to kate.otoole@selectenglishcambridge.co.uk
