Road, Kolkata 700 108 ISI invites applications from bright, talented and highly motivated Indian nationals with proven record of independent, high-quality research and commitment to teaching, for the positions of Visiting Scientist, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in the subjects Economics (all areas) and Econometrics (theory as well as applied) for the Economic Analysis Unit, Bangalore Centre. (i) Visiting Scientist Eligibility Conditions: Age: Salary:

Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject. Preferably below 45 years. (a) Rs.25,000 per month plus HRA (for those to whom the degree yet to be awarded) (b) Rs.30,000 40,000 per month plus HRA (for those to whom the degree newly awarded). (c) Minimum Rs. 50,000/- for Senior Scientists.

(ii) Assistant Professors Eligibility Conditions:

(a) Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject, and consistently strong academic record. (b) 3 years post-doctoral research and/or teaching experience (relaxable in exceptional cases). Age: Preferably below 35 years. Salary: PB-3 - Rs.15,600 39,100 with minimum pay of Rs.30,000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 8,000 plus allowances. After completion of 3 years service in PB-3, they will be placed in PB-4 Rs.37,400 67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs.9,000 plus allowances. (iii) Associate Professor / Professor Eligibility Conditions: (a) Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject, and consistently strong academic record. (b) 6 years research and/or teaching experience for Associate Professor (relaxable in exceptional cases). (c) 12 years research and/or teaching experience for Professor (relaxable in exceptional cases). (d) Applicants for the position of Professor must have proven record of outstanding academic leadership and research guidance. Salary: For associate professor, salary will be in PB-4 - Rs.37,400 67,000 with minimum pay of Rs.42,800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 9,500 plus allowances. For professor, salary will be in PB-4 - Rs.37,400 67,000 with minimum pay of Rs.48,000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 10,500 plus allowances.
