Chief Accountant Forum 2013 was successfully held 0n 22nd Feburary, 2013 at Hotel Holiday Inn, Mumbai, India. The gathering at the one day Forum had addressed various key issues revolving around the theme: Ensuring Sustainable Financial Closing in the New Era of Accounting and reporting. The event was kicked off by registrations along with networking breakfast. It was a knowledgeable Forum and the delegates attending got an opportunity to learn, meet, interact, network and share knowledge with the experts from the Finance and Accounts community. The purpose of the conference was to provide the industry a platform to share their experience in Finance and Accounts aspects in new era of accounting understanding the Financial Excellence in times of change - the Current & Future State of Financial Reporting and make them aware of the different frameworks. The Forum had over ten distinguish speakers and 50 attendees witnessed the forum and actively participated in the deliberations consisting of various Group Controller , Head Financial Planning & Analytics, Cheif Group Corporate Finance, Group Chief Financial Ofcer, VP Internal Audit, VP & Head Accounts, Director nance , CFO & Company Secretary /Global Head Accounts/Head Finance/ Associate Vice President - Finance /Head Accounts/Corp Finance/ Sr Manager /General Manager Corporate Finance from Manufacturing, Consumer Electronics, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Banks, Logistics, Supply Chain, Steel, Entertainment and many more..leading Conglomerates, Technology, Steel, Consultants and many morecoming face to face for an interactive and a thought provoking discussion. The event comprised of some knowledgeable presentations made by eminent speakers, followed by lively and passionate discussions throughout the day. The conference formally began with a key note by Dr . Paritosh Basu Group Controller Essar Group where he gave an invaluable preview of the discussions that was to follow and set the context right for the summit. The Summit started off with the broad discussion on a very signicant subject on Financial Excellence in times of change - the Current & Future State of Financial Reporting , where he said, Chief Accountant are partners in building nation and we have to bridge the gap between the present and future. Along with this interactive session, we also witnessed knowledgeable and insightful presentations by distinguish and eminent speaker's from diverse industry enlightening us on the session Transparency in Accounts: how much is too much? (Open Discussion) jointly chaired by Krieshan Groverr - Group Chief Financial Ofcer - Wadhwan Group and Sanjiv Verma Chief Group Corporate Finance - Tata Steel. Followed by the session Harmonised Tax Accounting Standards led by Ashesh Sa - Partner - Deloitte Haskins & Sells; Financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis (FCRA) led by Ananth Nayak - VP-Finance & Principal Finance Ofcer - iGate Patni; Multi jurisdictional XBRL are you ready? Presented by Sachin Rasam - Sr. Manager (ERS) - Deloitte Haskins & Sells.

In addition, the summit also focused on other key Learning and interactive discussion on Role of the accounts in detecting Risk / fraud before going forward to the auditors (Open Discussion) with Abhijit Sanzgiri - VP Internal Audit - Aditya Birla Financial Services Group; Raj Mullick - VP & Head Accounts - Reliance Industries Ltd and Tapas Mitra - Vice President - Reliance Group on the expert panel. Subsequently followed by the presentation on accelerating the fast close process and implementing new technologies for a reporting automation led by Anil Agrawal - Head Financial Planning & Analytics - Syntel Inc. The delegates also got a chance to interact with the speakers and learn about the practices followed in their industry. The formal presentations were wrapped up by Jyoti Shau Conference Producer - Yoogma Business Services LLP. Summary of the Feedback Received: The feedback received from the delegates is highly appreciated by us, and would be useful for improvising ourselves. Quite a few delegates provided some special comments; we have tried to consolidate few common messages from the feedback. Multiple attendees have expressed their desire to repeat this event next year and spread across for two days. Few reasons why the delegates decided to attend the conference: To interact with other industry players and understand the new era of accounting change and its impact on business. To upgrade knowledge on current trends/changes in accounting practice. Delegates have expressed their desire to listen to the following topics in 2014: IFRS Companies Bill GST Xbrl Productivity/Analytical tools other then mandatory tools like XBRL Automation of accounting/nance with strives of operation by information system and many more
