The Merlin is the Scarab sweeper considered by many to be our most versatile truck-

mounted model. Designed for a chassis GVW range from 10 tonnes to 12 tonnes, it is
ideally suited to the task of contract or municipal road cleansing.
Available in either Hydrostatic or Unidrive configuration, the Merlin is the direct
descendent of the machine that set current standards for higher efficiency by combining
world-beating sweeping performance with a more environmentally-friendly approach to
noise and exhaust emissions.
Deriving all its power requirements from the more-than-adequate modern truck engine,
the Merlin continues to lead the way to a better environment.
 The Merlin has all the traditional features of a Scarab
Sweeper with the green and efficient single engine
design which gives you greater reliability, durability,
lower emmisions and lower fuel costs along with the
largest payload (up to 6200 kg). The 6.2 m³ stainless
steel hopper is both corrosion and abrasion resistant
and is equipped with large access doors either side to
load large debris and rubbish sacks by hand.
A water tank of 900 litre capacity with further options up
to 1250 litres handy for when utilizing the powerful high-
pressure water system and low-pressure dust suppression
giving you an even cleaner sweep as well as allowing
for attachment of a high-pressure hand lance to clean
road signs, graffiti and other stubborn material.
A powerful 4 metre suction wander hose is also supplied
to remove rubbish and debris in awkward to reach
areas such as litter bins and gully pots.
All sweeper controls are mounted on a neat CANbus
control console which has clearly marked backlit
symbols to identify sweeper functions as well as a
backlit LCD screen giving current operating status.
CANbus also has the ability to carry out certain self-
diagnosis functions and to log operational data greatly
simplifying fault finding and rectification.
The Merlin has been designed from the outset to not
only meet the demands of the municipal operator and
contractor, but also succesfully compete in the
extremely tough hire and construction sectors. It has
impressive suction power to prove it along with an
equally impressive sweep width of up to 2950 mm
meaning that a single pass will often be enough on even
