Social Studies
Social Studies 9H ! 8th grade teacher recommendation based upon academic achievement, class participation, classroom citizenship, work ethic & demonstrated interest in history ! Academic achievement during Q1 & Q2 in Soc. Studies 8 ! Unit Exam scores from Q1 & Q2 in Soc. Studies 8 ! Completion of a summer project (due on 1st day of class in September for final enrollment) ! Performance on 9-Honors Social Studies screening exam ! Screening Exam on 2/5 during Activity Period (8:07 am) or on 2/4 at 2:50 pm. Make-up by appointment no later than 2/7 with Mr. Schettine. Test site TBA. AP World History ! 9th grade teacher recommendation based upon academic achievement, class participation, classroom citizenship, work ethic & demonstrated interest in history ! Academic achievement during Q1 & Q2 in Gr. 9 Global Studies ! Unit Exam scores from Q1 & Q2 in Gr. 9 Global Studies ! Science Science
From Honors 7th Science to Earth Science Honors 8 Enrollment will focus on an average in the following areas: ! Science 7 test averages from Qtr. 1, Qtr. 2, and Qtr. 3 ! Accelerated Math test averages for Qtr. 1, Qtr. 2, and Qtr. 3 From 8th grade to Earth Science Honors (9H) ! 93% Test average for quarter 1 & quarter 2 ! Screening Exam: 1/29 (snow date 1/30) at 2:50 pm in room 218 (Mrs. Johnson)) ! Average Placement exam and test scores to create a ranking - slots filled accordingly Living Environment Honors ! Test grades + Math Test Grades + Teacher Recommendation / 3 = (score must be 97 or higher to move from Regents to Honors) ! Test grades + Math Test Grades + Teacher Recommendation / 3 = (score must be 90 or higher to continue in Honors program) AP Chemistry ! Test grades + Math Test Grades + Teacher Recommendation / 3 = (score must be 97 or higher to move from Regents to AP) ! Test grades + Math Test Grades + Teacher Recommendation / 3 = (score must be 90 or higher to enter into AP program) AP Physics ! Test grades + Math Test Grades + Teacher Recommendation / 3 = (score must be 97 or higher to move from Regents to AP) ! Test grades + Math Test Grades + Teacher Recommendation / 3 = (score must be 90 or higher to stay in the AP program) AP Biology ! Must have taken Physics or be concurrently enrolled in Physics (does not have to be AP Physics) ! Must complete AP Biology application by February 7th and return to Mr. Schug in room 226

Fine Arts
Advanced Music Performance Ensembles Students wishing to participate in advanced music performance ensembles must audition. Auditions for Chamber Choir, Jazz Ensemble, String Ensemble and Wind Ensemble will take place in January and the beginning of February.
