Lesson Three: Seat-of-the-Soul Energy Center

This lesson is taken from the third chapter: Second Energy Center: Seat-of-the Soul /To Thine Own Self Be True. The seat-of-the-soul is your spiritual center for the freedom of your soul. Located along your spine, a little below your navel, it is the energy center where your soul is connected to your body. In martial arts this point is referred to as our point of equilibrium and the central focus of chi, the inner energy important for you sustain life in your body.

When God created you, he gave you a very special pattern for your life, unique and special for your soul. It is called your soul pattern. From your soul you can receive a deeper knowledge of who you really are and how to make the best decisions each day. You can also tune into inner direction and guidance about your career and mission. You may have had a gut feeling, a strong feeling that something is right or not right for you. The more your soul is in touch with your spiritual nature, your own God Presence, called the I AM Presence, shown in the chart in the first lesson and shown below, the more sensitive and accurate these feelings will be.

Chart of Your Divine Self

Have you ever considered that we all wear masks? We are not always showing people who we really are. Parts of your personality reflect your true self and some do not. Sometimes we do not want to admit, even to ourselves, some parts of our personal mask.

Have you ever felt that in some way you were doing or saying things that were self-defeating? There was a cartoon character named Pogo by cartoonist Walt Kelly. Your parents might remember him. In one famous comic strip Pogo said, We have met the enemy-and he is us! Kelly was making a play on the famous words of Commodore Oliver H. Perry at the battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812 when he said, We have met the enemy and he is ours. What do you think this means? What we all want to remember is that the mask we show others is not always our real self. Your real self includes the flame in your heart, the records and memories of your own souls journey through the centuries, your connection to God and the actions that reflect that connection. When you find those parts of yourself that do not represent your higher self and your soul pattern, you can let go of them. You can affirm your being in God. Activities 1. Mask making Draw or paint a picture of a mask that represents how you appear to other people. When you are finished, burn it, asking God to take from you all that is not of your real self and help you learn how to be more of your real self. You are special! You have some very special gifts that God has given only to you to share with others. Can you think about some of the gifts or virtues that God has given you? These gifts support you in your career and mission as you mature in life. Do you know what you want to do with your life? If you dont know, you can look at the gifts and talents that you have, and the things that you really love to do. These can be big clues to Gods plan for you. 2. Shield making In the field of heraldry, families represent themselves by a shield containing images of their unique history. sections on it that represents the qualities of your real self. Think about your best gifts and qualities that you would like to see on your shield. 3. Visualizing the violet flame. Your soul is a gift from God. The light that radiates from the seat-ofthe-soul is violet. This violet light is a freeing, forgiving light-- freeing you from actions you may regret, liberating you from any blocks to connecting with God or people you are close to. When you feel you have done something that wasnt of your highest offereing, you can ask God for forgiveness. You also can meditate upon and give mantras to the violet flame which is a powerful eraser of negative energy. Paul the apostle wrote Let not the sun go down upon your wrath. That means that before you go to bed at night, you need to forgive anyone (including yourself!) who has made you upset or angry. Before you go to sleep at night, think back over your day and visualize what happened just as though you are watching a movie. Ask God to forgive you for any misdeeds and to forgive all who have harmed you. Then see the violet light entering each scene. See the light turn into a blazing bonfire of violet flames. See this fire burn away all the negative scenes.

You can give the following mantras for forgiveness as many times as you like as you visualize the violet flame: I AM Forgiveness Acting Here I AM forgiveness acting here, Casting out all doubt and fear, Setting men forever free With wings of cosmic victory I AM calling in full power Permission to copy and share the lessons in their entirety, including the copyright and contact info, is granted. For forgiveness every hour; To all life in every place I call forth forgiving grace. I AM a Being of Violet Fire I AM a being of violet fire I AM the purity God desires. As you clear and heal your seat-of-the-soul chakra you will be on your way to soul freedom, and a greater closeness with your own higher, real self. Questions for thought and discussion: 1. 2. 3. How can you find your own true soul freedom and express who you really are? What are some gifts and talents that you feel God wants you to express? How does your soul let you know about what is right to do?

Activity: Color a drawing of the seat-of-the-soul violet.
