JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Salary: Facility Manager Finsbury Park Sports Partnership circa 10,000 per annum Half

f time (18.75 hours per week)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PRINCIPAL DUTIES The person appointed will be expected to take direction from the Finsbury Park Sports Partnership committee and report on a day-to-day basis to the appropriate Operations Manager: Managing the day to day operation of Finsbury Park Track & Gym, and Tennis Courts. Carrying out co-ordination and administrative duties in accordance with the Finsbury Park Sports Partnership, and other partners where relevant. To undertake other duties commensurate to the grade of the post. To carry out other General administrative and housekeeping duties

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES The post will be responsible for: Management of bookings for the facility, updating timetable (currently in an XLS) of bookings, communication of bookings to FPSP committee members Opening and closing of the facility The staffing of the facility for bookings (where appropriate as not all bookings require staffing, and other staff may be used for some bookings) Checking for maintenance requirements, undertaking of repairs, or hiring contractors if necessary (including researching appropriate contractors to hire) Weekly FPSP equipment & premises inspection (to identify damage/meeting of health and safety requirements for example) Co-ordination of cleaning of the facility, and arranging the scheduling of cleaning to fit around bookings (cleaning staff already employed just co-ordination of bookings with when cleaning is to be undertaken) Setting up and updating a maintenance log recording history of works on the premises. Setting up and updating a list of contacts relevant to the management of the facility. This would include electricians, plumbers, FPSP committee members, handymen, scrap clearers etc. Management of equipment loans to bookings. This would include signing equipment in and out, checking for damages etc Carrying out health and safety checks on the site at regular intervals. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations including arranging formal health and safety checks as required. Handling general/booking enquiries from public, complaints, and incidents, e.g. accidents, theft, booking requests Recording any incidences of theft, accidents, complaints etc. Working within the policies of the charity, and legislative frameworks; including Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Child Protection and Data Protection. Review, updating and continual development of Operations policies and procedures Hand over to any other staff working at the facility when appropriate. To carry out other minor and/or non-recurring duties, appropriate to the post, as may be directed.

KEY RESULTS In order to deliver the key results, the following activities will form the basis of the Facility Managers work programme. They are given as examples of current requirements. Ensure that all activities comply with relevant legislation particularly the Health & Safety Work Act 1974 That communications with FPSP committee members and other organisations/members of the public meet agreed SLAs and is respectful, polite and courteous That the facility is kept safe, clean and in working order. Maintenance work meets agreed SLAs. Equipment within the facility is regularly stocktaken so that 1> no equipment is lost through theft of booked sessions, and if it is, that the session can be identified so that it can be followed up. 2> equipment is always in a safe and working order for users of the facility. ACCOUNTABILITY Ensuring facilities and equipment being clean and safe for public use and set up appropriately and on time, and all equipment accounted for at all times. For the implementation of the Health and Safety at Work Act, and to accept continuous training, remaining competent within the guidelines. Attending regular staff training and keeping qualifications such as First Aid. For the implementation of Finsbury Park Sports Partnerships Equal Opportunity Policy and Code of Conduct for Staff both in respect of staff management and service delivery. Maintenance work meets agreed SLAs ===================================================== TRAINING and PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT In order to be effective in their work, staff are expected to keep themselves informed on current issues related to the work and to undertake appropriate training. Staff are encouraged to take up training opportunities but are also expected to pursue their own professional development through the appropriate channels. TERMS and CONDITIONS The salary for this post will be circa 10,000 based on experience/suitability The post will work 18.75 hours per week. The nature of the work will require a commitment to work unsociable hours, evening and possible weekends. Flexible working hours will be adopted to cover any unsociable or weekend working. The funding for the post is until Feb 7 2015 subject to a 6 monthly probationary period and appraisal (1 month and 3 month appraisals will also be held). Appointment will be subject to enhanced CRB clearance and satisfactory references. Further years employment will be dependant on securing further funding.

The person specification is a picture of skills, knowledge and experience required to carry out the job and will also be used in the short-listing and interview process for this post. You should demonstrate on your application form how you meet the following essential criteria. REQUIREMENTS Experience / Qualifications Excellent Administration, IT skills and experience of managing database systems. A proven track record of taking responsibility for staff, budgets and projects Excellent communication skills, both in person and through technological means First Aid qualified Involvement in community sports and a qualified coach (Level 2) Knowledge, Skills, Ability A thorough knowledge and understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act together with the ability to ensure that all activities undertaken by the centre and within the Facilities complies with the relevant legislation. Experience of and ability to set, achieve and maintain high customer care standards Ability to carry out maintenance and minor refurbishment works, including minor repairs and regular safety and maintenance checks. Experience and understanding of, and ability to ensure that all buildings, plant, equipment and grounds are maintained efficiently and effectively. Preferably live locally to the facility, or within close commute (as often hours will be flexible and require staff to be onsite quickly) Candidates must demonstrate their understanding of community sports programs (as an understanding of how they operate will assist in working with users of the facility) Self-motivated, a team player, and to have a passion for sports alongside excellent communication and organisational skills. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to adhere to and maintain effective relationships with staff, users of the facility and other colleagues within appropriate professional boundaries.
