Calling on the Name of the Lord

Genesis 4:26 records, At that time they began to call on the name of the Lord! This was the first time the Bible records calling on the Lord the timing could not have been better! Adam and Eve had disobeyed God by taking of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil their son, Cain, had murdered his brother!

The call to heaven in the name of the Lord set into motion, even in the midst of disobedience and rebellion, Gods intention to bless! We were born to be blessed! God blesses we are called to:
Identify the Need Let God know what you need in every aspect of your life relationships, financial, employment, physical or emotional illness, etc. God is waiting to pour out his blessings! Make the Call Jonah was in the belly of a great fish for 3 days and nights. His prayer to the Lord was answered. Consider Jonah 2:2, In my distress I called to the Lord and he answered me. Do as the Lord instructs Abraham was called by God to leave his home country and go to a place not known at the time of his departure. Abraham was obedient, following Gods instructions, and became the person through whom all people are blessed! Receive the Blessing Romans 10:12 records, The Lord richly blesses all who call on him. As we call on the Lord the doors of heaven are opened the blessings come we can then pass the blessings to others! Faith Christian Church is turning a corner in this our second year. Deacon and Deaconess Nominations Welcomed!!

The spiritual well-being of the church, along with the growth of the church in number, is prompting the addition of deacons and deaconesses. The word deacon is best translated servant. The first deacons we learn about in Acts 6 were given the responsibility of making sure the widows were not looked over in the daily distribution of food. Deacons and deaconesses work alongside the pastor to serve the congregation. As servants we will do the following: 1. 2. 3. 4. Offer spiritual support in the challenges you face. Follow up on prayer concerns submitted. Make arrangements to serve Holy Communion.
