Bollocks Living life day to day, following the ways of the world, never knowing the truth, never

knowing what is in your heart, always listening to what society tells you is right and wrong and never questioning their wisdom. Is it better to live a life like this or a life where you know the truth, where you know what you believe in your heart? In the movie for endetta and in the novel !he "dventures of #uckleberry $inn, each main character went on a %ourney, a %ourney of truth, wisdom, and awakening, reali&ing what was right and what was wrong in their society. In #uckleberry $inn, #uck, the main character, started as an ignorant young boy. #e was living life for the world instead of for his heart. But he had a sense of maturity for a boy of his age, although it was obscured beneath his ignorance in the beginning. #uck was used to slavery, as were the rest of the 'eo'le living during those times. #e was indifferent to it. #e did not hate slaves but he did not go out of his way to treat them with kindness. But then he met (im. !his slave changed his whole 'ers'ective of slaves. !hey bonded and became great friends. But during the tri', #uck struggled to discover what the right and wrong thing to do with (im was. )hen the challenge arose to make that decision, #uck went with what was in his heart. I see I was weakening, he said when the o''ortunity came to turn (im in, so I %ust give u' trying, and u' and says * #e+s white. #e did what his heart told him instead of what society told him. "t first, he was not sure if it was the right thing to do. I got aboard the raft feeling bad and low, because I knowed very well I had done wrong, he said. But later on, he became more and more confident in his decision. #uck had started on an adventure, but on the way it gradually turned into an awakening of truth. ,vey, the main character in the film for endetta, had a very different voyage to her truth. "rtists use lies to tell the truth, her father had told her, while 'oliticians use them to cover the truth u'. !his was the kind of world she lived in. Lies surrounded and enclosed her. -he knew there was a truth but she did not want to s'eak out and stand u' for her beliefs. -he decided to live life like every other 'erson in Britain. But then, her life of lies was interru'ted by the great and infamous . #e forced her to find the truth, forced her to reali&e what she already knew in her heart. -he learned to live without fear, she learned to not be afraid of .the/ government. )hat was being told to her by society was different than what was being told to her by her heart. But when she finally gras'ed on to what was really true, nothing could sto' her

#uck and ,vey both had reali&ations of truth but in very different ways. #uck gradually learned what was in his heart and struggled to decide what to do. ,vey, however, was forced to see what she knew dee' down inside of her. In each %ourney, someone hel'ed each character find their truth. In #uck+s, the friend was (im. #e was looked at as only a slave, a nigger, who could do nothing but serve. In for endetta, guided ,vey. #e was labeled as a terrorist and a monster. But #uck and ,vey were able to look beneath the mask, beneath the skin color. declared, !here is a face beneath this mask but it+s not me. I+m no more that face than I am the muscles beneath it or the bones beneath them. (im and were both an idea and ideas are bullet'roof. !hey were the ideas of truth, the idea that this world could be a better 'lace. !hrough our lives, we will all go face the same challenges #uck and ,vey did. -ome of us will choose to acce't the challenge and find the truth. 0thers will try to 'retend they are already living in truth. !hey will take the easy way and live by society+s rules. ,ach 'erson has a different truth to find. It is u' to us to find it. !hrough different struggles, #uck and ,vey found theirs. )e have until the end of this world to find ours.
