1. Introduction
This document provides the overview content of the Information Framework (also
known as SID) and it will identify the changes introduced in this current release.
For details on packaging and accessing the documents please refer to the
Information Framework Read Me First note which can be found in the Getting Started
Pack zip file and in the Domain Addenda zip file.
To have an overview on future work please refer to the Information Framework
Charter.

2. Overview of Information Framework (SID) Suite Release 9.5
The Information Framework (also known as SID) is the ongoing TM Forum initiative
to deliver an information model or framework for use by service providers and others
within the Information Communications, and Entertainment industries.
2.1. Key Driving Forces in this Release
This release of the Information Framework Suite builds on previous releases.
Key driving forces in this release based on increased industry use of the Information
Framework include the need to support:
E2E business models resulting in the initial development of the
Supplier/Partner domain
Securing resources and other entities against threats
Customer payments
Charging based on properties/features of products, resources, usage
Service Problems
Updating Service in support of the Service Management interface
Exchanging policy information using interfaces
Release 9.5 represents a major release of the SID, with the incorporation of
numerous change requests resulting in two new addenda (Security and
Supplier/Partner), as well as enhancements to many existing addenda, summarized
in the following sections of this document.

4. Linkages to other Projects/Products
There are linkages within the TM Forum programs as well with other.
4.1. TM Forum Frameworx
The Information Framework is one of the key components of the TM Forum
Frameworx. TM Forum Frameworx (the successor of the well known NGOSS) enable
users to analyze their business operations against industry processes, applications
and information standards. They also provide a framework to support the
procurement, development and implementation of a comprehensive operations
environment. Frameworx may be used as an integrated system end-to-end or as
components to solve particular problems. They can be applied throughout
organizations by operations staff, software developers and system integrators.
As a significant step forward for its Frameworx, TM Forum has launched the Initiative
to identify common elements and synergies among its core frameworks: Business
Process Framework (eTOM), Information Framework (SID), Application Framework
(TAM) and Integration Framework.

components. The overall Information Framework Suite of document now includes:

(GB922-CP) which provides an overview of the Information Framework
(SID), from both Intra-Enterprise and Inter-Enterprise viewpoints, and
describes the main structural elements and approach
o Addenda to the Information Framework:

Information Framework
o Domain and ABE specific addenda, each containing
Design Approach, Rationale, and Examples
Enables the model to be better understood and extended to
model project-specific entities
