Triantifilou argues there are 500 parking spaces at the new facility - well that's great if you have a car but in Hamilton County, about 40% of residents do not own a car - there will be an impact. Mayor Cranley has offered another building downtown that would alleviate the space issue and resolve the transportation issue. He also asked Chip Gerhardt to recuse himself bc he was a city lobbyist and Gerhardt decided instead to quit his position with the city - he gave up a $100,000+ a year gig to suppress your vote. Again, there will be an impact. The other argument made by these slicksters is that there is a month of voting and people can still drop absentee ballots off downtown - what they fail to tell you is that there are bills moving through the state house and senate to stop the BOE from sending out unsolicited early vote ballot notices and reducing the number of early voting days. Now the decision will go to Secretary of State Husted, who has a record of siding with the suppressionists in Hamilton County. For some reason, Husted does not understand what his opponent this year, Senator Nina Turner understands or maybe he does and he votes to deliberately suppress votes - but as Senator Nina Turner said - "the great equalizer is the ballot box. That is where we all have the opportunity to be heard equally. Each of us gets one vote." If your opportunity to make it to the ballot box is taken away, a segment of our community's voice is silenced. There is a reason this is happening now - Republicans realize they are losing their stronghold on the county and the presidential election is in a couple years - shut out up to 40% of the population and their problem is solved.
