1. SCOPE
1)The purpose of those specification is to provide the procedure for
surface preparation and application of paint coating to be applied
to POSCO E & Cs housing project in Hanoi.
2) All work shall be performed in strict accordance with this
specification and current recommendations of NOROO-NANPAO Paints &
Coatings(Vietnam) Co., Ltd..
(hereinafter called 'NNV') as well as those of contractors.
Any discrepancies between paint materials and this specification have to be
agreed by contractors and NNV in writing.

3) All work shall be performed by skilled workmen in a safe and

workmanlike manner using equipment
and procedures as specified herein and consistent with good coating
practice.

2. COATING MATERIALS
1)All coating materials shall be as specified herein and as
manufactured by NNV.
2) All coating materials shall be delivered to the site of the works in
the original factory sealed containers bearing NNV's labels
identifying, where applicable, the product number, name, color
and instructions for use.
3) Prior to use, all coating materials shall be stored in an area as
designated by the contractor.
This storage area shall be secure and shall provide the coating
materials with protection from weather and temperature extreme
below 5 above 35. The area shall be maintained in a safe, neat
and clean manner and free from fire, explosion or other hazards.

3. SURFACE PREPARATION

(2) Initially all surfaces to be coated shall be prepared in a

workmanlike manner with the objective of obtaining a clean, dry

and properly prepared substrate.

(3) All surfaces shall be prepared in accordance with NNV's current
application instructions which are generally outline below.

3. SURFACE PREPARATION
2) CONCRETE SURFACE
(1) All concrete surface to be coated shall be clean, dry and free of
contaminates. "Dry" is defined for new concrete as free of
moisture and fully cured. Fully cured for mass concrete may be
defined as concrete which has cured for a minimum of 28days at
20.
(2) Do not use form oils, concrete curing agents or concrete
hardeners on concrete surface to be coated, unless compatible
with coating system such as NNVs products. But can be use if
compatile with coating system and test patches indicate

satisfactory adhesion possible.

(3) Concrete surfaces shall be thoroughly swept clean and smooth,
breaking down all rough protrusions.

4. COATING APPLICATION
4-1) GENERAL
(1)Before any surface is coated, it shall be cleaned carefully of all
dust, dirt etc."
(2)Coating shall be applied under favourable conditions by skilled
applicators.
(3)The preparation of the paint is carried out respecting the date
limit for use of the products.
(4)Any paint that has exceeded its shelf life shall not be used unless
it can be demonstrated by test that it is still adequate for its use.
The paint will be throughly mixed with a mechanical agitator until
it is homogenous and no sediments remain on the bottom of the
container. The containers shall be opened as short a time as
practically feasible before they are to be used.

4. COATING APPLICATION
4-2) WORKMANSHIP
(1) All coating shall be applied in a workmanlike manner, in

accordance with application instructions from NNV.

(2) The application shall leave no sags, brush marks, or other defects.
(3) Coating materials shall be thinned, applied
to NNV's instructions
and the requirements of this section.
(4) Each item or surface shall be coated as shown on the approved
coating schedules. Each coat shallbe applied at the dry film
thickness specified in 'PAINTING SPECIFICATION'.
(5) Each coat shall have dried sufficiently before coating. Succeeding
coats shall be applied within NNV's recommended time and
temperature limits.
(6) Cleaning and painting shall be scheduled so that dust and other
contaminants from the cleaning process will not fall on wet, newly painted surfaces.

4. COATING APPLICATION
(7) Each coat shall be applied in a same color or shade from the
preceding coat. Colors are chosen in accordance with the relevant technical
specification.
(8) All painting equipment shall be inspected and approved by

contractors representative before application is begun.

(9) Either airless or conventional spray equipment may be used. With
conventional equipment, a moisture trap shall be placed in the air
supply line at the pressure pot. This trap shall be opened slightly

to provide a continuous bleed.

(10) With conventional equipment, regulators and guages shall be
provided for air to both pressure pot and spray gun.
(11) The representative of contractor and NNV shall be consulted
concerning points not covered herein.

4. COATING APPLICATION
4-3) REMEDIAL WORKS
(1) Touch-up and repair shall be done according to NNV's written
instructions and/or applicable requirements of this section.
Adjacent surfaces shall be protected from damage and
overcoating during repair operations.
(2) Coating that is damaged, cracked, peeling or delaminated shall be
removed to the bare substrate and the surrounding sound coating
taped to a feather edge. Dust and loose particles shall be
removed and the prepared surface recoated to specification.

5.SAFETY
1) The work shall be done in a safe manner and the working area is
maintained free of all health and safety hazards.
2) These products contain solvents or other chemical ingredients.
Adequate health and safety precautions should be observed

during all storage, handling, use and drying periods.

For best results and safe usage, user is specifically directed to consult the
current data sheet for product.
3) While coating materials are being applied, all application and
mixing personnel in the area should wear adequate protective
clothing and devices (including respirators).
4) No item which may produce sparks or open flames should be
permitted in the immediate working area (including
equipment,matches, cigarette lighters,etc) and no smoking should be permitted in
the area.

5.SAFETY
5) Food and drink should not be consumed, stored or prepared in

areas where paints is stored or being used.

6) The inhalation of solvent fumes, dust, paint vapours and droplets
must be avoided by the provision of adequate ventilation and
extraction, personnel protection should be provided in the form of
approved face masks and respirators and attention given to health
regulations covering the removal of dust, fumes and vapours from
the work area.
7) It is highly recommended that eye protection is provided for
operators engaged in the application and use of paint when there is a risk of eye
of facial contamination.

This is based on specially designed synthetic latex, surfactant and stabilizer and
can be applied a thin coat of this product gives a adhesion promoting, durability,
alkali resistance, durability especially for chalked surface. This is an economic
paint which impart a blushing free, fortify the concrete surface and saving a top
coat.

Eliminate oil, water, dirt, marked paint and any foreign matters.
B. Preparation of Paint
*Stir to be mixed uniformly.
*Avoid excessive thinning.

Can be applied by brush, roller or spray. Apply the topcoat when

this clear sealer is dried.
