Citizenship in Ancient Rome The rights and responsibilities of citizens in Ancient Rome greatly influenced Roman citizens lifestyles, and has influenced certain aspects on ours also. I have chosen this topic because I am very interested in Roman culture, and had implemented the Roman topic with todays theme (and or found it sitting in the suggested topics list). I also wonder about how citizens lived, and how we had implemented ideas from them into todays world, as the Romans had already influenced many of todays beings. I expected researching facts about Ancient Rome wouldnt be difficult, but ended up taking me a while. I originally chose the changes in Roman Citizenship, but couldnt find much on changes, but more on how life influenced their time (so I went with that). I eventually came to a couple of useful statements, which I will and have already probably used, and have found enough to build a good project out of. Im also sticking to a website. I am very good with technology, and have done a website before. Although, when I did do a website for the first time, I didnt have enough material to make my website long enough, and thought that in 2013-14, I will stick with a research paper. This time, Im taking my chances, and will go again at the website. Im not very experienced in arts and crafts, so this is probably the best route. Citizenship in Ancient Rome is all about this years theme: Rights and Responsibilities. What citizens had rights to, and what every citizens had to do really relates to the theme. (Full) Citizens all shared

promising rights and responsibilities, which appealed to the people. Such rights as property owning changed how people live, and really influenced their lifestyles. Citizenship in Ancient Rome really relates to the thesis statement in a variety of ways, showing how the Rights and Responsibilities of citizens changed the way they lived. Citizenship in Ancient Rome has made a sizeable impact on todays world. As we had taken many aspects from the Romans, Citizenship laws are included. Statements from documents such as the Twelve Tables and the Constitution of the Roman Republic had been pulled over to todays world. Rights such as, the right to not be tortured, or, the right to vote had been recycled, and many other rights as well. Although there is no specific person (or no specific responsibility brought over) Ancient Rome Citizenship had a great impact on society today.
