Light Be!

Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:2 - And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:3 - And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:4 - And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. God is the creator and initiator of the heavens and the earth. The below verses clearly portray our lives.

1. THE TWO DIMENSIONS IN CREATION

Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

 The spiritual (heaven) and the natural (earth) were created by God in the beginning. The first verse of the Bible clearly establishes that God was before anything and everything, even before time. He initiated the creation. The spiritual and the natural are two dimensions in creation.

2. REPRESENTATION OF OUR LIVES PAST REALITY

Genesis 1:2(a), The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. We symbolically represent the earth. We were dead because of sin. Our life was a total waste, formless and void without God. We once lived in darkness and were bound with the inherited fallen nature of Adam. Ephesians 2:1, who were once dead in trespasses and sins Colossians 2:13, And you, being dead in your sins

3. THE SPIRIT OF GOD WITH US - ALWAYS

Genesis 1:2(b), and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. As the Spirit of God moved or hovered (brood) over the waters, so also, the Holy Spirit has always been with us watching over us. Our Fathers eyes have always been on us. God sent His spirit on the day of Pentecost and He is here since then.

ONE REASON FOR THE SPIRITS COMING

John 16:8(a), He (the Holy Spirit) will convict the world concerning sin

John 16:9, concerning sin indeed, because they do not believe in me; The Holy Spirit comes to convict the world of sin; the sin of unbelief in the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. We possessed no power to change and believe on our own when we were dead in sin. There was no life of God in us. The Holy Spirit convicts us of the need of a Savior Jesus Christ.

5. AND GOD SAID

Gods spoken Word caused the Light to be created. The Word has created all things including the Light. John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. We need to understand that darkness was present before Light was created. God separated the Light from the darkness. Gen 1:4(b) and God divided the light from the darkness. Gods Word is powerful, active and causes things to come forth. Hebrews 4:12(a) For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective;]

6. LET THERE BE LIGHT

Genesis 1:3, And God said, Let there be light: God initiates the creation of Light. He initiated the transformation in our life. He rescued us from the powers of darkness and translated us into His marvelous light the kingdom of the son of His love. Colossians 1:13, He has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of the Son whom he loves.

7. MADE ALIVE IN CHRIST

We are made alive by Christ. We are lights in this world. We show forth Gods glory through us. We are alive together with Christ. Ephesians 2:1, And He has made you alive, who were once dead in trespasses and sins Ephesians 2:5, (even when we were dead in sins) has made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved) Colossians 2:13, And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses

8. REPRESENTATION OF OUR LIFE PRESENT REALITY

We are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: We are seated together with Christ in the heavenly places Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: We are the light of the world. Matthew 5:12 Ye are the light of the world. Power and dominion of sin over us is broken. Romans 6:14 For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God's favor and mercy].'

 We are totally free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. We are children of the Light. 1 Thessalonians 5:5 You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. We are led by the spirit of God. Romans 8:14 - For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. We have been forgiven of our sins past, present and future. Colossians 4:13 And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions, 1John 2:12 - I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. Acts 13:38 - Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: Acts 10:43 - To Him all the prophets testify (bear witness) that everyone who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him, giving himself up to Him] receives forgiveness of sins through His name. Colossians 1:14 - In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins. The above verses are just a few present realities about us.
