[edit] Badass
My fury rises. Your end awaits. My newfound power will be your doom.
For when a character needs to suddenly become insanely powerful.
Durathuril, Kobold Badass, "Vengeance of the Dragon God" (translated from Draconic)
flame grows into a burning inferno. It is through such fortitude and will that people are able to do things that seem nearly impossible.
Entry Requirements
Alignment:Usually neutral or good. Special: DM APPROVAL. Also, a really good reason. Table: The Badass Hit Die: d12 Level 1st +2 Base Attack Bonus Saving Throws Fort Ref Will +4 +4 +4 Special Spellcasting
Bonus Feat, Forged from +2 levels to existing spellcasting Pain class Class Skills (8 + Int modifier per level) All. [edit] Class Features All of the following are class features of the badass. Forged from Pain: All ability scores increase by one. Spellcasting: At each level, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained two levels in a spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one spellcasting class before becoming a badass, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known. Bonus Feat: You gain a feat for which you qualify from the list of Fighter Bonus Feats, or a metamagic feat that you qualify for. [edit] Ex-Badasses The only way you can become an ex-badass is to die.
Advancement: Badasses can no longer advance levels in ANY base class. Note that as the Badass prestige class includes only one level, characters may face significant penalties to experience gains, depending on houserules for experience gain. Resources: Minor, if any. Badasses don't need resources. [edit] Badasses in the World This section needs a more complete description. For more information please look here
Sample Encounter: Among NPC badasses, most (if not all) are characters who the DM doesn't want to have die. However, they will invariably have some trait that prevents the characters from recruiting them. The exception to this is the ever-beloved DMPC. EL 2+: Add an extra level to CR, add stat bonuses. Otherwise, as any other encounter.
