Ferguson receivers support recording on external hard disk drives (HDDs) and flash memories (pendrives). In all instances, the correct operation of the recording function depends on the type of connected memory !ou must read the follo"ing limitations.

4 Important instructions concerning hand5ing of the recei6er (he screen menu (+$D) simplifies operation of the receiver and has made it possi)le to reduce the num)er of keys on the remote control. -ll of the functions are displayed on the screen and may )e controlled )y means of a small num)er of keys. 9ommon functions have )een connected in one J=0,UJ. (he selected function is coloured. Depending on the selected option, various Jfunction keysJ are displayed: red, yello", green, )lue and "hite in the form of graphics and descriptions. 0! 4 Aeria5 AdAustment In this menu, set the detailed parameters of the terrestrial antenna. %y setting or fixing the antenna you should remem)er that the signal )ars appear "ith a delay

(he correct setting of the antenna is indicated )y )ars presenting the strength and 6uality of the signal. %oth should indicate more than <'L for channel reception to )e free of interference.

00 'ystem settings 00 0 +anguage (his menu is used to define the language in "hich the receiverMs menu is displayed. (he preferred and second language options refer to audio soundtracks. If a given channel supports more than one audio soundtrack, the receiver "ill )y default search for soundtracks in the selected languages in this order. (he language of su)titled F as in the case of audio soundtracks, this determines the language of su)titles to )e used, provided that such su)titles are availa)le and active. (eletext 1 defines the character coding page for the teletext.

00 1 %/ 'ystem (his menu is used to set the image parameters. -)ove all, you should determine the resolution of the image sent over the HD=I connection. $elect the highest possi)le resolution supported )y your HD television set in order to o)tain the )est image 6uality. (he follo"ing resolutions are availa)le: /<'i, /<'p, 2E>i, 2E>p, E&'p (2'H8), E&'p (>'H8), #'<'i (2'H8), #'<'i (>'H8), #'<'p (2'H8), #'<'p (>'H8). If you select an unsupported resolution, your image "ill )e lost or )ecome illegi)le F you can al"ays use the (4 key to return to the )asic resolution, i.e. 2E>i. If you are using a $9-4( connection, then for the ma*ority of older television sets "e recommend setting the video out to !U;. If your television supports 4D%, then activate this option in order to o)tain )etter image 6uality over the $9-4( connection. -dditionally, in this menu you can choose the format in "hich the receiver "ill send sound over the digital connections. 5e recommend using B79= in order to also receive a stereophonic signal over the digital connections.

00 4 *isp5ay setting (his menu is used to ad*ust the image displayed )y the receiver. !ou can change the )rightness, contrast and colour saturation. %y default, all of these values are set to 2'.

00 7 +oca5 time settings (his menu is used to set the time and date. (he receiver can automatically do"nload the time and date from the signal (recommended), or you may set the time and date manually. If you are using D=(, you should select the correct time shift value (for example N# hour for 7oland) and turn on or off the summer time, depending on the time of year. (he manual editing of the time and date is effected )y means of the numerical )uttons.

00 9 .arenta5 5oc= In this menu you may specify "hether the receiver is to use a parental )lock or not. In addition, you can turn on or off the pass"ord protection function for selected menu options and change the default pass"ord. (he default pass"ord is four 8eros: !!!!.

00 : &'* settings In this menu you can define the )asic parameters of the on1screen menu (+$D). (he first option concerns support for the su)titles. If the su)titles are turned on, the receiver "ill display them for channels that transmit such su)titles. %y default, they are displayed in the language specified in the language selection menu for the su)titles. -nother option determines the time for "hich information )ars "ill )e displayedK the default setting is 2 seconds. In addition, you can specify the transparency of the menu to suit your preference.

07 1 */R configuration In this menu you can adapt preferences concerning recording to an external U$% memory device. In the first option you decide "hether you "ant to use the time shift option. (his mode makes it possi)le to stop the current transmission at any moment )y pressing the .A$'E )utton and resume it after a )reak )y pressing the .+A) )utton. -nother option allo"s you to s"itch on or off the )uffering of data gathered )y the (ime$hift function. (his means that once you press the RE# )utton, the contents of the )uffer "ill )e recorded and the recording shall )e continued.
