ALL POWER AND AUTHORITY

I. CHRIST HAS ALWAYS BEEN AND EVER WILL BE.

A. He is the beginning and the end.
1. Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which
was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

2. John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any
thing made that was made.

3. Col 1:16-18
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether
they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all
things he might have the preeminence.

4. 2 Thess 1:6-10
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty
angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus
Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his
power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our
testimony among you was believed) in that day.

5. 2 Peter 3:7-10
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against
the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a
thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish , but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a
great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be
burned up.

II. JESUS CHRIST NOW HAS ALL POWER AND AUTHORITY.

A. In order to save mankind.

1. Matt 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even
unto the end of the world. Amen.

1
B. Angels are subject to Him.
1. 1 Peter 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and
powers being made subject unto him.

C. All rulers of earth are beneath Him.

1. Ps 89:27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

2. Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND
LORD OF LORDS.

D. All things and all judgments are under Him.

1. John 3:34-35 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit
by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

2. John 5:22-23 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all
men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth
not the Father which hath sent him.

3. John 17:1-2 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is
come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh,
that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

4. Phil 2:9-11
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under
the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

E. The living and the dead are under Him.

1. Rom 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the
dead and living.

III. JESUS CHRIST’S POWER AND AUTHORITY SHALL NEVER END.

A. To order and to establish His kingdom.
1. Isa 9:6-7
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his
name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his
kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The
zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

B. His dominion is over all people.

1. Dan 7:13-14
13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to
the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should
serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which
shall not be destroyed.

2
WITH THIS IN MIND, CONSIDER THESE VERSES:

1. John 5:19-24
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself,
but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater
works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son
honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath
everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

2. John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of
me.

3. Matt 7:13-14
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and
many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it .

AGAIN
Matt 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even
unto the end of the world. Amen.

He who has all power and authority says “Go ye therefore and teach.”

ALSO:
Heb 2:1-4
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we
should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just
recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,
and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the
Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Invitation: Hear, Believe, Repent, Confess Christ as the Son of God, Be Immersed for the remission of
sins, and then grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, remaining faithful until death.

If one is a Christian and has done anything publicly to bring reproach upon the church, then
that person or those persons are invited to remove their separation from God by public repentance
so that prayers can be offered for them.
