What is a Conditional Sentence?
Conditional Sentences are made of two parts: IF CLAUSE & MAIN CLAUSE If I have a lot of money, I will feel happy.
IF CLAUSE MAIN CLAUSE
The action on MAIN CLAUSE can take place only when the condition on IF CLAUSE is fulfilled.
IF CLAUSE
If I have my Bac, If I have my Bac, If I had my Bac, If I had had my Bac,
MAIN CLAUSE
I feel happy I will feel happy I would feel happy I would have felt happy
Conditional Type 3:
* Form: If clause
PAST PERFECT
Main clause
Would / Could / Might + have + P.P.
* Examples:
If I had worked hard, If she had asked me, If you had come early, I could have passed the exam I would have helped her you might have met him
* The If Clause can come at the beginning or at the end of the sentence. If you had spoken English, she could have understood you. If we had walked faster, we wouldnt have been late.
SAID KARIM
She could have understood you if you had spoken English. We wouldnt have been late if we had walked faster.
