he beginning of 2014 brings us the summary of what made the past year so special to all of us. In this issue of H&T we present exactly that - the top lists. Our bravest moderators shared with us their favorite and most listened tunes of 2013 and we hope you will find time to immerse yourself into their world. Meanwhile in the next issue we will go deep down the undiscovered music rabbit hole. Trancefix

Two artists last year showed what a real evolution of a music mind is. Andrew Bayer and Jon Hopkins both surprised us with their mind-freeing works which ended up embedded in two colossal albums.

Andrew Bayer crossed the boundaries with his destroyed beat visions and spectacular variety of instruments and covered/defined numerous genres in one album.

Jon Hopkins stepped up by giving his sound even more degrees of freedom - glitch is a very prominent adition in Immunity. Formulaic restraints were also abandoned.

John 00 Fleming - WKO

Kurbeats - Sub Serum

Gai Barone - Lullaby (Airwave Remix)

Filteria - Perpetually Delayed Voyage (Original Mix)

Versum - Pusher (You Are My Salvation Remix)

Simon Templar - Phenomenal (Original Mix)

[JOOF]
From Johns latest artist album and also (a part of) the title of the album. It includes everything I want to hear in a dark, trance track and is the strongest J00F release in years. John has played it sometimes during his GTG and various events and it sounds equally good earch time.

[Bonzai Progressive]
Airwave has been the greatest producer, for me, in 2013 and by the looks of it he will continue on that road in 2014. He is known for his deep atmospheric melodies, mixed both in regular trance and breaks and this track is a superb example of that.

[Event horizon]
Kurbeats delivered, what I think, was the strongest artist album in 2013. To be fair I could have picked any of the tracks from that album which is a fantastic blend of electronic and instrumental elements like drums, violin and more. And the best part of it: It can be downloaded for free!

Stanisha - Lil Mouse Girl (Original Mix)

Basil OGlue - Sigil (Original Mix)

Horizons - Iguazu (Original Mix)

Paul Oakenfold - Turn It On

[Perfecto Fluoro] [Saturate Audio] [Lost Language] [Afterglow] [Old SQL] [JOOF]

Daft Punk - Get Lucky

[Columbia]

I had some nice outdoor activities on this track somewhere at an illegal rave in the dunes at night. It made me lucky.

Harmonic Rush - Were Ghosts

[Monster digital]

I was going nuts when I heard this ace track for the first time. It was John Askew who played it at Luminosity Beach and I realised that it would be something special. After the festival I discovered it was Harmonic Rush, and shortly after that he broke through.

Roger Shah Ft. Brian Larusso & JES Higher Than The Sun (Aly & Fila Remix)
[magik muzik]
Scot Project - U (Mark Sherrys Acid Burst Remix) Ferry Tayle & Darren Porter - Neptunes Return Gregor Tresher - Warpaint Harmonic Rush - The Dark Side Of Persia Faruk Sabanci Ft. Jaren - Discover (The R3belz Remix) [Perfecto Fluoro] [Tytanium] [Break New Soil] [Edge EDM] [Arisa Audio]

I dont have a really special moment for this, but the lyrics in Rogers tracks are always awesome. Aly & Fila really topped this release with their insane 140 banger!

Extrawelt - Windschatten [Cocoon]

Headhunterz - Colours [Ultra]

Lullaby is simply a beautiful track, full of delicate yet intricate basslines. This had to be my number 1 simply because I cant stop listening to it and when I do I am off in another little dreamworld!

Gai Barone - Lullaby (Airwave Remix)

This EP was a full on win win for me and was hard to pick the one I loved best but this one just makes me smile

Silk are one of my favourite labels and this one doesnt disappoint, by far one of the best hits from them yet and the vocals are just dreamy. Hypnotising, mesmerizing music!

Styller - What we Left Behind [Saturate Audio] Andromedha - Thoughts Became Things [Darkpload Deep] Moshic - False Emotion (Philthy Chit Remix) [Bonzai Progressive] Leama - Requiem for a Dream (Andre Sobota Remix) [Perfecto] Accendo - Ledra [Infrasonic] Blood Groove & Kikis - Vesta (Original Mix) [Silk Digital] Protoculture - Talisman [Rebrand]

Kajis - Rendezvous with You Gregory Esayan - One Way Ticket [Bonzai Progressive] [Mistique Music] [Arrival]

The Thrillseekers With York & Asheni Daydream (Will Atkinson Dreamy Mix)
The original mix was already heavenly, but Wills Midas touch further emphasises how enjoyable that break actually is. Plus, Will dropping this at Luminosity is one of my most memorable moments of summer 2013.

[Adjusted]

Arma - Reckless (Under This Remix) Suspect 44 - Thoughts Uncovered (Terry Da Libra Remix)
Ill be the first to admit that Im not a massive breaks fan, but Under This work ticks all the right boxes for me. I thought the vocal on this was infectious and it gets stuck in my head any time I hear it. Whats more is; it even survived the test of being my morning alarm on my phone, and I still enjoy it.

[Enhanced Progressive]
The progression on the piano here beautiful, it sends shivers up my spine every time. Far and away the years most enjoyable Progressive Trancer.
ReOrder & Six Senses - Dr Adam Ellis - Napalm Poet

[Perfecto]

[Silent Shore] Seven Lions & Myon & Sh [Kearnage] ane 54 Featuring. Tove Lo - Strangers Craig Connelly Featuring. [Casablanca] Christina Novelli - Black Hole (Jorn van Deynhove n Remix) Solis & Sean Truby Featur [Garuda] ing. Orjan Nilsen - Violetta [Armind]

Avicii - Wake Me Up [uninew album was apparantly shocking for some, but I personally found it to be in a versal music] The typical Avicii direction with his signature beats and synths. Of course, the country-ish approach was something new, but it fits. I think Avicii deserves the attention as he really has his own style which is hard to find these days in commercial EDM.

Showtek - Booyah! I could also have choosen Cannonball (although thats 2012) or Slow Down as they are all [Spinnin] proving my point. Showtek is for me one of the few acts that can use the jumpstyle kicks in
house music without having to think that its a cheap follower of the trend. No, Showtek is trendsetting.

Wildstylez ft Niels Geusebroek - Year of Summer [Q-dance]

Out of nowhere we saw a hardstyle hit in the Netherlands. So far it did not really start a wave of hardstyle tracks, but the track did get a lot of airplay on the radio and clubs. The track stuck by me for a long time and it actually still makes me happy.

Armin van Buuren - This Is What It Feels Like [Armada] The Blizzard & Daniel van Sand ft Julie Thompson - Made For You [ARVAS] Fisherman & Hawkins - Apache [Coldharbour]

Dart Rayne & Yura Moonlight ft Sarah Lynn - Silhouette (Allen & Envy Remix) [Amsterdam Trance Records] Giuseppe Ottaviani & Ferry Corsten - Magenta [Black Hole] Sergey Nevone & Simon OShine - Apprehension (Aly & Fila Remix) [Defcon]

Aerium - Aftersurf (Original Mix) [Solarswarm]

The ambience in this version is just pure manifestation of a beach life. Very light in its style with easily memorable main theme this track stole my heart from the first moment I have listened to it. No other track changed my mind up till now.

Koan Sound & Asa - Sanctuary [Owsla]

An amazing collaboration between dubstep and drum n bass artists ended up as a Sanctuary EP with the leading track being a dreamy slow-step track with incredible string and vocal influence. Had I discovered this earlier it might have stolen the first spot. A must listen to every music lover.

Postiljonen - Atlantis [Best Fit]

I do love dicovering new bands and Postiljonen is my biggest discovery of 2013. I heard Atlantis (taken from the album Skyer) on a Hungarian radio Neston and the dominant saxophone line just captivated me for days. The whole album is a well crafted synthpop product with distinct tracks and Im simply in love with them.

Sergey Alekseev & Syntheticsax - Waiting For You (Valentin Remix) [We Recommend Records] James Blunt - Bonfire Heart [Warner Music] Koda - Hands [Silk Sofa] Andrew Bayer - Lets Hear That B Section Again [Anjunabeats] StoreNForward - Bananas [Afterglow] Mango - Citylanes Airplanes (Alexander Volosnikov Remix) [Silk Digital] Denis Neve - Water Illusion (Max Dillon Remix) [Elliptical Sun Melodies]
