VEKN.NET RATING SYSTEM AND ARCHON UPLOAD GUIDELINES

Ve&$!%n A/t)%& Rev!$!%n OVERVIEW The process for uploading event results for the rating system on vekn.net involves 4 separate steps:

1. Event registration on vekn.net calendar (http://www.vekn.net/index.php/event calendar! "ote: any registered user on vekn.net can register an event# thus $ecoming the event organizer (usually it is the %rince who organi&es events# $ut not always! 'hen registering an event# a vekn.net user is asked to put a uni(ue ):E*" +, for the organizer# that +, has not to $e that of the %rince# and that +, will $e allowed to upload the event results after the tournament -. .fter the tournament (event! takes place# the %rince (or the organizer! has to upload the .rchon with the results /. The "ational 0oordinator for the corresponding country then checks in his/her own "0 menu the event for approval and# if everything is fine# he/she will approve the tournament 4. Each day the system automatically performs a check and then updates the ratings evaluating the approved tournaments in the last 11 months (so# after an event is approved# the ratings are updated in -4 hours from the approval! ARCHON USE .s for every data mining process# it2s important to keep a consistent format# naming and la$eling conventions on the .rchon for the upload/rating system to parse the results correctly. "o matter what .rchon version you2re using# the la$el to $e put on LEVEL on the 3tournament info4 sheet must $e populated $t&!*t(. reproducing the la$el given on vekn.net calendar# depending on your tournament format as follow (using the latest .rchon version makes this easier with a dropdown menu!.

8or the upload# the mandatory fields that must $e populated on the .rchon tournament info sheet are also (next page! :

 8ormat (3limited4 or 3constructed4: any non limited format must $e la$eled as 3constructed4! "um$er of rounds (including final# should $e automatically calculated $y the .rchon itself! "um$er of players (should $e automatically calculated $y the .rchon itself! The ):E*" upload system will check the consistency of these data $etween the event and what2s stored in the .rchon $eing uploaded# and will raise an error if any of the 4 re(uired fields (level# format# num$er of rounds# num$er of players! do not match or are otherwise incorrect. +n case the system gives an error# you are re(uired to hit the 3delete this .rchon4 $utton at the $ottom of page $efore uploading a new one.

3 I",%&tant4 2D5 6LAG2 &e*%&' (a0e(!n# 9n the .rchon# when you put a la$el in the ,6 87.: record (3=ethuselah4 sheet!# either use the D5 la$el or the WD la$el. 3,64 stands for dis(ualification and must $e used accordingly. +n case a player voluntarily leaves the tournament# use the >',> la$el there:

"ote that any other value put on the ,6 record will $e parsed $y the vekn.net upload system as a 3,64# so mind what la$el you2re using on your .rchon for the upload. +f the .rchon data are fine (i.e.# no red errors are given!# the user is then re(uired to hit the 3su$mit this .rchon4 $utton at the $ottom of the upload page. .t that point your "0?s approval is needed.

/ EVENT APPROVAL 9nce a tournament has $een uploaded $y a %rince (or organi&er!# the "0 of the corresponding country must approve it in order for the results to $e inserted into the official rankings. @sually at this stage no errors are found on the "0 approval page# $ut there2s a special case to $e handled as follows: a "0 can find a red error in a ):E*" num$er on the given event for approval. This can happen when that ):E*" num$er isn2t on the %layer AegistryB in such a case there2s no need to delete the archon (which is doa$le from the event approval page! for a new upload# $ut all that2s re(uired is to have the ):E*" +, not matching inserted $y an administrator on vekn.net# there2s n% need to delete the archon in such a case.

9nce the not matching ):E*" +, has $een inserted into the %layer Aegistry $y an administrator# the "0 can reload the event approval page and approve the tournament safely.
