Dr.

Hayes Wicker, Senior Pastor

Asking, Seeking, and Knocking
When I first became pastor here in Naples, I was in Indianapolis for the Southern Baptist Convention and attended the church of some of our dual members. It was there that I met Pastor Russ Blowers, who later vacationed here. If you called his voicemail, you heard these upbeat, faith-filled words: Heavenly Father, I thank You that when we call upon You, we never get an answering machine! But I pray for this person who is calling me. May this be one of the best days of his or her life! Help them to be patient with me, because I can hardly wait to call them back. In Jesus Name, Amen. I was convicted by his faith-filled prayer and attitude, while his wife was in the final stages of Alzheimers disease. The thousands of petitions and intercessions to the Father at the Throne of Grace has allowed our ministry to experience tremendous blessing. Arent you glad that God bids us to call Him, and we dont get a machine! I realize that prayer doesnt come easy for some, but the staff and I want to help you grow in talking to and hearing from the Lord. Therefore, we are calling our church to Seven Weeks of Seeking the Lord. Please fill out a Commitment Card, found in a special brochure, which is placed in the chair pockets of the Worship Center. We A.S.K. Him, based on Matthew 7:7, Keep on asking, seeking, and knocking. We must also read the Bible in a daily Quiet Time. While we may not be together in one place, we can be united in one purpose and on parallel tracks of reading the Word and praying. Since our relationship to God is dependent on hearing from Him as well as talking to Him, I hope that you will join me in reading through 2 Corinthians in the New Testament through 2 Timothy, a total of 51 chapters over the next seven weeks. We are also sharing scriptures that are some of the greatest in all the Bible that will help you to pray in Gods will. If we have your email address, we will be sending out bi-weekly video devotions from our pastors to spur you on in seeking the Lord. Praying for others (intercession) is also a vital part of your daily encounter with God. The Quiet Time Guide gives a daily plan to intercede for different people each day of the week (i.e: ministries, the nation, etc.). I also urge you to commit to a Focused Time to Seek the Lord, as you do a personal inventory by asking Him honest questions about how you stand with Him. This mini prayer retreat could be a turning point in your life! As with the other activities, materials will be sent, if you sign the commitment card. I hope that every Bible & Life Group will allow for extra time to pray as you gather together. In the early church, They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer and all those who had believed were together and had all things in common (Acts 2:42, 44). If you are willing, we will email or mail helpful discipling materials to you. As Russ Blowers prayed, May this be one of the best days of your life!

Alliance Defending Freedom

Janet Wicker will teach from a study she has written titled Trustworthy: A Study of the Letter to Titus -- What to Do When you Wait! This little letter, penned by the Apostle Paul in A.D. 62-64, could just as easily be written to believers today, for its hopeful message gives relevant counsel about living in expectant faithfulness until Jesus returns. It also specifically challenges spiritually mature women to disciple younger women in the faith so that the gospel will have a joy-filled voice in a culture that doubts it. Join us on Tuesday, Feb 25 at 9:00am or on Wednesday, Feb 26 at 6:30pm in the Worship Center for this groundbreaking study.

Begins Tuesday, Feb 25 and Wednesday, Feb 26
