Another milestone marked the history of Dagyaw of the Diocesan Commission on Youth, for the first time it was celebrated together with Vocation Jamboree of the Diocesan Commission on Vocations in observance of the Vocation Awareness Week. 47 young people from our parish were some of the one thousand eight hundred young people who attended the said event. Rev. Fr. Rocelo Villarosa, the Diocesan youth Director on his welcome address, he said that This gathering is a gathering of young people to encounter the face of Christ with other young people through the catechesis, group sharing and prayers. Added to the highlight of the event was the Eucharistic celebration of our beloved bishop, Most Rev. Vicente M. Navarra in closing the year of faith. In his homily, he said that the success of our gathering lies on our personal response to the call of the church, saying ADSUM! Which means, here I am lord! Catechesis about teen sexuality was also given to the delegates by Mr. Ed Soreta of the Pro-life Philippines. In his talk, Mr. Soreta told the youth the difference between a man and a woman I terms of work role, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual manners. Furthermore, Mr. Jason Arcamo of the Columban Missionaries also gave a talk on the Faith in mission. Workshops were also given to the delegates after each talk. The event culminated with a dawn biblical rosary which was given more life with songs and visual presentations.

DSAC hold graft and corruption forum for the youth

Last November 5, 2013, the diocesan social action center conducted a forum on graft watch and corruption prevention at the St. John Mary Vianney hall. This forum was attended by youth leaders coming from the different parishes and schools through the effort of the staffs aof the office of the ombudsman. This forum stresses to the youth that graft and corruption is elicited in any aspects in life which causes poverty of the state and of the people. Moreover, this forum also made to know what is the office of the

ombudsman is all about. The history, the appointed ombudsman and deputies, role of the office, its vision and mission and the 5 major functions of the office are in lined also in the forum. As a sort of application, the staffs of the office of the ombudsman conducted a textwise brigade wherein the people can reach out their problems regarding to the misbehaviors of the government agents/staffs or the unsystematic way of making a transactions through text and e-mail.

Sum-ag Vicariate Youth Monthly Recollection

The youth ministry of the vicariate of sum-ag again gathered again for their monthly recollection at San Isidro Labrador Parish in Tangub. Rev. Fr. Jessmar Manato, the Parish Priest, continued his talk about Gaudium et Spes, one of the four Major Documents of the of the Vatican II. He also added on his talk on what happened recently in some provinces in the Philippines of the aftermath of the typhoon Yolanda and during the the Philippine conference on new evangelization last October 16-18, 2013 at the University os Sto. Tomas, Pope Francissaid via Teleconference, Do not get Tired of bringing the Mercy of the Father to the poor, the sick, the abandoned, the young people and families. Let Jesus be Known in the world of politics, business arts, Science, technology and media. This thing is one in common, upbringing the word of God in any aspects of our lives should be present on it.

BEC holds KAMPM Training Program Merso Catequista

Last Noverber 16, 2013, the BEC conducted KAMPM training Program at the Parish Pastoral center where 47 participants coming from the 7 BECs attended in the said seminar. Talks were given to the participants about Awareness of individual strengths and weaknesses by Sr. Zeny Mazaredo, A.M. P. Moreover, Ms. Bernadette Navarro Discussed to them the steps in Organizing the BEC. Nature, Tasks and Functions of a BEC Leaders and Another is the Structure and Composition of BEC in the Area and the committees involved.
