Tickets on Sale for the Perfect Winters Weekend

Tickets are now on sale for the perfect winters weekend as the 2014 Melbourne International Horse Trials invites families, event lovers and weekend adventurers to visit the picturesque Werribee Park precinct for non-stop equestrian action and brilliant Australian hospitality over the Queens Birthday weekend (6 9 June, 2014). The Melbourne International Horse Trials, the oldest competition of its kind in the southern hemisphere, is a showcase of Australian horsemanship, offering eventgoers great entertainment in a relaxed location taking in the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, historic Werribee Mansion, Victoria State Rose Garden, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Werribee Park Polo Fields. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the Melbourne International Horse Trials their way; bringing a picnic rug, enjoying on-course hospitality of Australian food and wine; dining at the Werribee Mansion or watching the competition unfold on the big screen in the Village Green. Whilst eventgoers enjoy the spectacle of the beautiful surroundings, competitors will vie for national honours and international representation to the 2014 World Equestrian Games (WEG) or the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Event Director, Michael Hands, described the Melbourne International Horse Trials as an equine triathlon where horse and rider compete in three consecutive phases of dressage (the ballet of equine sports), cross-country and the competition decider, showjumping. The Melbourne International Horse Trials is a showcase of Australian equine talent coupled with a fantastic weekend of activity. Seasoned equestrian enthusiasts and first time visitors will enjoy a hallmark event and a sneak peak to what Australias equestrian team could look like at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Mr Hands said. Admission for this years Melbourne International Horse Trials is FREE on Friday, 6 June whilst adults tickets are $35.00, concession $25.00 and children (aged 4-15 years) ticket are priced at $10.00 daily on Saturday, 7 Monday 9 June.
