A Brief Report
The Orientation workshop was conducted for the teachers-educators who represented their colleges where either ADE programme is already under way or it is going to be initiated in third COHOT. The fruitful workshop played a ery important part in de eloping the understanding of all the participants! particularly the fresh ones about ADE and role of "#A$D teacher education pro%ect. The master trainers! Ms: Aneela Meerani and Mr. Shri Narain Das! kept the charm of the workshop ali e by introducing about ADE and its stakeholders. #e eral healthy acti ities! such as group discussions! a isit to college! &uestion answer sessions and group presentations were designed in order to make the orientation workshop! a success. (aster trainers put a detailed light on e'ploring the alue of semester system o er annual system. )articipants were in ited for the open discussion that helped remo e the obstacles in their understanding. (any of the participants were either unaware of term credit hours or were not sure what e'actly it refers to in conte't to ADE course. *ew participants did not know about +practicum, and +school based tasks, so the master trainers held a sound and producti e discussions in which e eryone shared what they belie e about +practicum, and +school based task,. arious acti ities that aimed to e&uip participants with the ma'imum le el of understanding

-ater on! different types of assessments were brought in discussion and internal as well as e'ternal grading policy was also passed through the lips. An acti ity visit to school was designed on second day which in fact was a practical display of ADE course. $t was well organi.ed in association and consultation with the management of /ECE 0(1! #ukkur. )articipants were di ided into groups and were timed to isit different areas and obser e the work silently and prepare themsel es for a &uestion answer session after the isit is o er. Different groups isited each station at different times which include class room teaching where teacher of English was teaching! after the obser ation is o er group tra eled towards computer lab where students were busy in gi en task then the isit followed by library which was also in its full swing last but not the least display room was isited which attracted the attention of isitors where prospecti e teachers as well as teachers educators work along with their portfolios was displayed which was &uite informati e. Another interesting and worth learning acti ity was designed +preparing time table, for ADE students. Again! groups were formed charts markers and other re&uired tools were pro ided and acti ity was timed. -ater on! group leaders presented their time table and &uestions were raised to gi e the weaknesses a logical conclusion. One of the key points that came into discussion was the modern teaching methodology and how it is different from that of con entional method of teaching. $t was capti ating point of discussion which brought much learning and understanding with good impression on the participants.

One acti ity was to design a session plan by di iding the participants into groups. Course guides were gi en and groups designed session plan which was followed by critical group discussion. The workshop not only aimed at teachers educators but also kept tasks for principals. Acti ities! such a +TO DO LIST, and preparing +COLLEGE management. instructions. 2ubric was &uiet a new and unfamiliar word for ma%ority of the participants. After prior knowledge of few participants! master trainer e'plained what rubric is which was followed by brief &uestion session. /allery walk is an interesting acti ity which gi es prospecti e teachers as well as teachers educators a chance to publici.e their work of proud so that iewers may obser e! e aluate and appreciate their outcomes. CONCL#SION The workshop pro ed to be success as it achie ed its goal to let the participants know arious aspects of ADE and those of in its rele ance. A room for impro ement can ne er be ruled out and no effort can be tagged as perfect so its concluded that orientation for ADE stationed at /ECE 0(1! #ukkur was an encouraging effort accompanied with social harmony and professionalism. !O"ILES,!
