Small group teaching method has been introduced for Hospital waste management for semester student . this activity conducted over period of five days during clinical posting During the clinical posting in community medicine students are divided in small group & allowed various visits & task of hospital to learn hospital waste management techniques actually being implemented in the ward, OPD, & Lab & OT etc. After completion of task students get together for interactive discussion. The result of this activity is student get more knowledge of hospital waste management techniques as compared to didactic Lecture. Other innovation techniques have been introduced such as script writing 1. Script writing for the First Year student by the dept of Physiology 2. One minute perception as novel method of teaching by the dept of Biochemistry 3. Impact of Interactive teaching on undergraduate students in the subject of Ophthalmology at Dr VPMCH&RC.

Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) is the project granted by NRHM ( National Rural Health Mission. One ambulance & one staff, carrier vehicle has been provided by the govt. officials, w.e.f. September 2011. One Medical Officer, one staff Nurse, one Lab Technician, one Pharmacist, two drivers is the staff deputed as the MMU . The unit provide medical services is the forty villages in tribal belt of Igatpuri, Trimbakeshwar, Peth & Surgana Tahasil. Average OPD conduced in the project is 125 to 150 patients.

Body Donation Program of Body Donation started in 1990 by MVP Medical College. First body was donated by Smt Captain Laximi Vaidya From Mokhada Tal Jahavar, dist Thane. Bodies as yet donated to the department are 91. In the year of 2011-12 the department of Anatomy received about 9 bodies. For appreciation of this great program of body donation the department of Anatomy conduct lectures at various places. The Medical College used the donated bodies for medical Education, learning Anatomy, Various research Purpose. For this great body donation the medical college and Department of Anatomy took a program of appreciation of the body donors relative on occasion of 19th August Samaj Din every year.In this program Medical College offers a appreciation certificate & a momento to the relatives of body donors . National Service Scheme NSS unit Started in the year 1996. It was comprised of 50 NSS Volunteer students initially then it was raised to 75 and now it is of 150 Students. The NSS Camps are arranged annually at various Taluka places such as Dindori, Trambak, Pimpalgaon NSS runs Special Programme- where Free Ophthalmic Check up,dental checkup and medical check up & medicines are made available . Surveys- Health of family and children and comprehensive information regarding various health problems in Pimpalgaon, Surgana Peth area & near 15 villages are done .
