Bipolar Disorder has a biological base in the genetic contribution.

SYMPTOMS

~BP1: Monic or Mixed episodes with or w i t h o u t h i s t o r y o f d e p re s s i o n . ~ B P 2 : Hypomanic episodes with history of depression. ~ BP3: Monic or Hypo episodes occurring during use of psychotropic medicine with or without history of depression. ~ Mood Swings ~ Periods of highs and lows aka mania and depression. ~ Severe changes in energy and behaviors. ~ Psychosis. ~

Check Symptoms:
-Easily distracted -Little need for sleep -Poor judgment -Poor temper control -Reckless behavior and lack of self control such as drinking, drug use, sex with many partners, spending sprees -Very elevated, expansive or irritable mood, such as racing thoughts, talking a lot, false beliefs about self or abilities -Very involved in activities ! ! ! !

Treatments:
-Medicines are a key part of treating bipolar disorder. Most often, the rst medicines used are called mood stabilizers They help you avoid mood swings. -Talk Therapy -Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) may be used to treat the manic or depressive phase if it does not respond to medication.
