Why Did Jesus Die?

People have heard a lot of times in their lives about the Resurrection of Jesus and how significant it is. Have you actually thought about what YOU think? When people are asked why Jesus died they usually say to forgive all sinners. This is indeed accurate, but there are also other reasons Jesus died on the Cross. The significance of his resurrection is also bound up in some of these other things that are less mentioned. For instance it could be asked WHY God died to forgive sinners. This post looks at some of those "other" reasons Jesus was crucified and what some of the results of those things are:

1.Tobringhumanitybacktowhatitwasoriginallyintendedtobe.
Humans were created to be in union with God. Adam and Eve were in "paradise" and that is still what God wants for his creation. The original intention was for humans to put God first, and not worldly things first.

2.Hecaresabouthiscreation.
God could have chosen to leave humans in a fallen state. He chose otherwise. He not only redeemed humans but also sent the Holy Spirit to earth as a reminder of his presence and his work. Sin results in death, but God did not let it end there.

3.TobringglorytoGodTheFatherandCreator.
In the Trinity are God The Father, God The Son and the Holy Spirit. It is widely believed that one reason God chose to create in the first place was to bring glory back to himself. The larger glory is not for humans as they are not the Creator. One reason Jesus died was to bring glory to God The Father.

4.ToshowobediencetotheFather.
This goes along with #3. Jesus redeemed humankind because of his obedience to the Father. He cured. performed miracles and acted out of humility in accordance with what the Father said. Jesus did nothing on his own in this world and that is a reminder that we don't, either.

What does this mean? What are the results of why Jesus died? This includes the items from above.

It gives you a "clean slate", as if you never sinned in the first place. There is no sorrow in the next world, including things like sickness or death. Jesus intercedes on your behalf to God the Father. (Isn't that good to know?) God has the right to judge you in the end.

No wonder it is called the "Good News." This good news does involve some things on your part, though. One is that you believe. The other is an understanding that this does NOT mean to go on sinning like you have and expecting forgiveness every time. God is forgiving, but he is also just. It should also be remembered humans give an accounting for what they did, according to the Bible.

Only God has the authority to judge in the end.
