He went to church for thanksgiving and was jubilating in ignorance, but God was shaking His head knowing his thanksgiving could have abounded much more if only he had cast his cares upon Him. What about David, he would have traded off royalty for sheep breeding. What about Abraham, he would have traded off being a father of faith for being king in his father's house. Whatever badge of greatness one wears with his own effort and wisdom is only a shadow of what could have been. And the bible rightly says we should trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding; to acknowledge Him in ALL our ways and He shall direct our paths (Prov.3:5-6). There is a grand idea in the mind of God for everyone.
