They made Him a crown of thorns and put on His head.

They all struck Him with their hands and mocked Him. All the while, Judas was not the one suffering but Christ, as God was cleverly waiting to outsmart them on the cross right? What sense is in that?! The fact is that dying is easier to bear than bodily suffering. Death happens in a blink while suffering lasts as long as one lives. If Judas was ever to replace Jesus, it is just smart and wise to make Judas bear the sufferings and then quickly put Jesus shortly before he finally gave up the ghost on the cross. If God brought in Judas after Christ had suffered mockery, shame, slaps, severe, life threatening, and body damaging metal blows from the hands of the brutal Roman soldiers, leaving His mother to grieve and wail as one pierced, I think God was too late! If there was no purpose to His suffering, a wise God would have taken Him before they laid their hands on Him at all. You have a choice to believe what the bible says which agrees with common sense or to believe the report of hell about the crucifixion. Here is what Christ Himself said about His suffering.

Luke 24:46-47; 'Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.' He said His suffering was necessary. And I hope you noticed that His death is part of the suffering according to the verse above and the result of His death is the remission of sins. This was why Christ died. His blood was shed for our sins and when we believe in Him we obtain complete forgiveness from God. God didn't take Him off the cross; rather He was the one who put Him on the cross for the world. Isaiah 53:4-6; 'Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.' God put Him on the cross for you!
