Please read carefully GENERAL CONDITIONS TO COMPETITIONS 1. (a) Entries close with the secretary on 4 April 2014. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED OR RECORDED AFTER THAT DATE. All entries must be on the official entry form (or photo copy) and be accompanied by entry fees in postal notes or cheques, together with stamped, self-addressed envelope for the forwarding of notification of times of attendance. (b) Age limit - In all sections which are subject to an age limit, the age on 30 April will be deemed to be the age of the competitor. Make cheques, etc., payable to KERANG MUSIC SOCIETY INCORPORATED. Entry fees will not be refunded. Unless otherwise specified all items are to be of own choice, and one item only is required. One copy of music (which may be a photo copy) for all own choice items must be brought to the hall for the Adjudicator and handed in to the music table when reporting. Section number and competitors number must be shown clearly on the copy. Competitors must state on entry form the title and composer of pieces to be presented. In the case of own choice items, approximate duration should also be given. The Secretary must be advised of any changes in selected piece at least one week before the Eisteddfod. If unable to attend as entered, please advise Entry Secretary. All sections are open to amateurs only, except in the case of a choral conductor or accompanist. In these competitions an amateur is one who does not derive the major part of his or her income from public performance. Competitor/s who has/have been taught, coached or advised by the Adjudicator during the six months preceding the Eisteddfod shall not be eligible to compete.

10. Rehearsal or practice shall not be permitted on the stage for the duration of the Eisteddfod.

11. Prompting or assistance of any kind will not be permitted during a competitors performance. 12. The Adjudicators decision will be final in all cases. 13. Any approach to the Adjudicator by a competitor or the parent, teacher or friend of a competitor during the competitions is forbidden. 14. The Adjudicator shall have the right to refrain from awarding a prize where insufficient merit has been displayed. 15. (a) The committee reserves the right to cancel or transfer any section in which there are fewer than three (3) entries. (b) Second prize will not be awarded in any section if there are fewer than three(3) competitors on the day unless recommended by the Adjudicator. 16. A competitor may not perform the same item in more than one section. 17. Duets and Ensembles. (a) A competitor may not perform with the same partner more than once in any one section. (b) A competitor may not perform more than twice in any one section. (c) Ensembles must be between 3 and 8 performers. 18. Ties. Where two competitors tie for first prize in any item, the first and second prizes shall be equally divided between such competitors. Where two competitors tie for second prize in any section to which only two prizes are attached, the second prize shall be divided between the two competitors. 19. Mobile phones, tape recorders, videos and/or cameras. The use of these by members of the audience during the competitions is strictly prohibited. 20. Music and critiques not collected will not be posted. Owners must arrange their own collection. 21. COPYRIGHT. THE COMMITTEE DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY INFRINGEMENT OF COPYRIGHT. PHOTOCOPIES WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

Students must be 18 years or less in the calendar year of the award. Students must reside in the Shire of Gannawarra or their teacher for at least the last six months must reside in the Shire of Gannawarra.

When returning entry forms, please remember to enclose a stamped, addressed, business sized envelope (DL 110 x 220 mm). Teachers with multiple entries should enclose a C4 envelope (230 x 325 mm) and a $1.20 stamp.

KERANG EISTEDDFOD AWARDS Shire of Wakool Award $50 This award will be given to the best performance by an individual or group residing within the Shire of Wakool. Alice & Fred Jenkin Memorial Prize $50 This award is made to that competitor in the piano sections who, in the opinion of the adjudicator, shows most promise. Kerang Lions Club Award $200 This award is given for the best performance in the vocal sections by either a competitor or group. Shire of Gannawarra Encouragement Award $75 This will be awarded to any competitor whose talent merits encouragement and resides within the Shire of Gannawarra. Shire of Gannawarra Award $75 This award is made to that competitor or group residing within the Shire of Gannawarra who shows most promise in any section. D. & J. Day Encouragement Award $30 This award will be made to the best individual performer, Under 13 Years, in any section. The Kurkowski Family Instrumental Award $100 This award will be made to the best performance of an individual or group in an instrumental section (excluding piano).

The Kurkowski Family Piano Duet Award $100 This award will be made to the best performance in the Open Piano Duet section. Guy Lester Memorial Encouragement Award $75 This award will be made to the Primary School Choir that the adjudicator deems deserves encouragement. Greta Lester Memorial Award $75 This award will be made to a pianist over 15 who shows most promise. The Kerang Music Society Award $50 This award will be made to a secondary school aged individual or group whose talent merits encouragement.
