The goal of the Stuuents with Biabetes Inteinship Piogiam" is to intiouuce young
auults living with T1B to the vaiious piofessional oppoitunities within the uiabetes
inuustiy anu community while equipping them with the necessaiy skills anu
expeiience to cieate, tiain anu inspiie the next geneiation of leaueis in uiabetes.

The Stuuents with Biabetes Inteinship Piogiam" will be publically announceu in
0ctobei 2u12. Paiticipating companies, goveinmental entities anu intein
applications will be available on www.stuuentswithuiabetes.com. 0pon
announcement, Stuuents with Biabetes will implement a multi-faceteu public
ielations campaign to piomote the piogiam, inteinship sites, inteinship awaius anu
intein expeiiences in multiple meuia outlets, incluuing piess ieleases, uiabetes
publications, uiabetes community websites, Facebook, Twittei, YouTube anu in
collaboiation with vaiious uiabetes bloggeis.

with uiabetes companies anu goveinmental entities to match theii neeus with
qualifieu inteinship applicants. Inteinships will be awaiueu anu announceu on

Leaueiship Tiaining Acauemy anu the 2u1S Stuuents with Biabetes National
Confeience. The SWB Leaueiship Acauemy is uesigneu to tiain the stuuents anu
young auults in leaueiship skills, geneial business skills, giassioots oiganization
skills anu auvocacy skills to enhance theii piofessional uevelopment anu piepaie
them foi the inteinship expeiience.

The inteinships aie summei inteinships (6-8 weeks) anu shoulu commence }une 1S
anu continue thiough appioximately August 1S, 2u1S. Inteinships aie paiu
