Indiana Charge Basketball Club

The Right Choice for the Right Player The most unique opportunity for players looking to make leaps and bounds in their skill level and game understanding!
The Indiana Charge is a basketball club that is different. We have a different approach to how young players should be developed during the off season. We are not an !!" affiliated club. We are not a high priced club who only plays tourna#ents and rarely practices. We are not for everyone. Players who choose to join Indiana Charge will notice several things: Practice will be two days per week. If we do not have a tourna#ent we will practice one day over the weekend. Practices are typically $% #inutes& but will change based on ti#e constraints of facility& coaches& and availability of players. The nu#ber one focus is player skill develop#ent and ga#e understanding. Too often players join AAU clubs and do not gain skill or an understanding of how the ga e is played! They si#ply revert to their deeply seeded habits. !ll players will play' If a player (oins the Indiana Charge )asketball Club she will play in all ga#es unless there is an issue with attitude or in(ury. Players who do not attend practices will have less playing ti#e co#pared to other players who attend practices. We will #ostly play *uality local tourna#ents. +owever& we will look to travel to )loo#ington& ,ouisville& and other regional tourna#ents. If possible& we will try to attend college showcase tourneys.

Three things to consider before joining the Indiana Charge: -. If you are unwilling to co#e to practices& then please do not (oin and #ake it an unco#fortable position for everyone. We co#pletely understand you #ay have other sport co##it#ents .W/ 0TR123,4 /C21"R!3/ P,!4I23 1T+/R 0P1RT0'5 and do not want you #issing school sport for practice or tourna#ents. It is i#portant that you attend practices as #uch as possible so you can learn the syste#& i#prove your ga#e understanding& and i#prove your skills! If you only want to play in tourna ents and not practice than please join another tea that doesn"t put your develop ent as a priority# 6. If you are not willing to be coached and i#prove your ga#e during the off season this is definitely not the club for you. There are plenty of options where simply playing in tournaments is the priority and skill development is not. 7. $% A&% A BA' ATTITU'% (&%% )*+%# T,I- .*%- (*& PA&%+T- A$%// A- P/A0%&-! The trade#ark of the Indiana Charge last season was a fun and en(oyable club to be apart of. We did not have issues with players or parents and that is how we intend to keep it. It is about the develop#ent of the players. )ecause we took this approach we were e8tre#ely co#petitive and reached the finals of #ost of our tourneys.

-tyle of Play: 1ffensively We will play a very up te#po style& but with great understanding and control of how to be aggressive. We will use an offense that allows players to be aggressive with the ball. Pick and roll& 7& 9 and : out spacing& screen away and read will all be si#ple options to put players in great offensive scoring opportunities. ;astbreak oriented. Players will learn to read defenses on the break and how to get the ball to the highest percentage option. <efensively We will play #ostly #an but will learn =one principles and how to use proper rotations. Players will learn #any great techni*ues that separate great defenders fro# the rest. Pressing. Players will learn how to press and create the te#po we want to play. We will teach players how to play full court #an and =one techni*ues. Individual -kill 'evelop ent -. !ll players will learn how to use the dribble with both hands to their advantage. Players will learn how to attack pressure& relieve pressure& create space& and attack space. 6. Players will learn how to create their shot and shots for tea##ates. Players will learn shooting footwork co#ing off screens& fading>drifting& and curling on screens. They will also learn how to effectively use a pull up (u#per and a pure catch and shoot footwork. 7. Players will learn the skills to play off the pick and roll as well as a spread offense. Players will also learn how to use effective #oves and option in the post. 9. Players will learn how and what pass to use based on the situation. )eing able to pass well with either hand is a great e*uali=er to great defenses. :. Players will learn how to finish at the basket. We will teach various finish #oves that will give the players obvious reads to look for in how the defender is playing the#. The Indiana Charge is a club based on developing players not using the # ;ar too often players are pro#ised fro# their !!" club they will get great e8posure when actually what they get is e8posed' Too often players play on tea#s that hinder their develop#ent and destroy their confidence. They travel to out of state tourna#ents only to receive little playing ti#e. I have personally heard college coaches say how tired they are of the typical !!" style of play where *uality play co#es second to selfish play. Not All AAU Clubs Have Poor Intentions and o A !antasti" #ob! o $our Home%ork !irst! Regardless of what you are being told& college coaches find players regardless of if they play !!". With all the e8posure high school seasons receive through #edia& blogs& and basketball websites college coaches can learn about any player they want during the high school season. This #eans off season basketball should be about developing your skill and ability to play tea# basketball.
